She wrote a book about there experiences with the local Amish and told stories of how they used to drive them around. This part of Ohio is all gentle rolling hills with plenty of farmland. We were here in the peak fall color viewing time so it was a little slow getting around. I imagine it's always a little slow all year with all the bikes, buggy's, and tourists. Lots to do and see in the area. We were lucky enough to be here during the towns annual garage sale, so we spent some time shopping these. I bet you would be hard pressed to find someone with a bad disposition around here, everyone seemed quite content with there own pace of life they have sit for themselves. If you are lucky enough to book a room here, make sure you tell them I said hello, they are not the type to read things on line.

Also, the Saturday evening snack was very nice (and the cookies were delicious). The room was comfortable, and the view overlooking the llama pastures was very nice (we enjoyed checking out the llamas also, they were fun to watch). We also enjoyed the various swings around the property and there was a little trail that ran through the woods that we walked, and the woods were covered in large white Trilliums along the path. The only downside was the miscommunication with our checkout. We payed for a late checkout, but apparently the office didn't communicate that to housekeeping. The office left me a voicemail saying they didn't have record of the late checkout, I returned the call and confirmed that we did pay extra for that, and then shortly after housekeeping showed up and we had to also tell them that we had a late checkout. Kind of took us out of our getaway bubble, but overall a really nice vacation experience.

It was attached to another unit with a shared parking lot. Upon entering, we instantly felt like we were in a log cabin in the woods. A little kitchenette as we walked in, a dining room table, a nice living room to start with. Off the living room were two bedrooms. And there was one large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. The living room had a gas fireplace and nice sized tv. The couch was pretty comfy although the recliner on it was broken. The place was just rustic and beautiful. I loved all the woodwork and the ceilings. The jacuzzi was perfect for relaxing. I used it twice in our overnight stay. A few suggestions I had after staying here: ceiling fans in the rooms, a fridge with a freezer for ice, and maybe a chair or two outside the cabin to enjoy the view of the woods. Honestly, if it had one bedroom, it's perfect for a romantic getaway. Two bedrooms seem too large for an intimate space with one bathroom. We did check out the trail in the woods before it got dark and that was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, it's winter here and it rained the next day or the outdoor fire pit would have been nice to enjoy too. Our hostess did provide us with a little container of ice when we checked in inquiring about ice. That was very kind and helpful. We're definitely keeping this place in mind for another getaway weekend. Very relaxing.

Very nice and friendly inn keepers,and so fun to talk to. Hard workers with all the up keep they have done with landscaping and the lodge itself. I thank them for it all. They are somewhere in the age of their sixties. Breakfast was homemad and fresh, egg casserole,muffins,apple fritters and much more. We will be back for sure. I was in the lower level room, which had a queen & twin bed and a nice big bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. It was off of a secluded living room down on lower level. The great room/dining room was very roomy as it sat 20 seats at dining tables & almost 10 spots near the fireplace. Bunches of games were available for playing, coffee/tea/cocoa stations available all day & complementary cookies were put out before dinner. Breakfast was excellent... Including OJ and fruit and cream cheese parfait to start, egg bake squares with turkey sausage, crispy hashed potatoes, then fresh baked blueberry muffins to end! It was served family style so you shared w/ your table which was pre-portioned with enough to feed your number. Staff was too nice & very quick w/ refills. Bed was firm but pillows were too flat for me so I doubled up. The porch was wrap around w/ spectacular views of countryside! Worth the trip & would come again!

Inside reminded me of the 80's country craft era. It definitely looks like Grandmas clean neat house. We stayed in Grandmas room and it was Grandmas bed. It squeaked like thie old metal springs did in the 70's, so using this bed for our 34th Wedding Anniversary end of night celebration , was not in the picture for us. The squeaks from the old mattress springs echoed through the house along with my giggle. So, don't book this room if you have in mind getting a little romantic. I woke up to someone singing in the kitchen, it was an Amish woman singing, cooking breakfast bare foot. I walked down the hallway with the smell of fresh bacon to the dining room. They prepared fresh fruit with mint from their garden, quiche with hollandaise sauce, fresh large slice bacon and for dessert homemade waffles, with real cream & cut up fresh peaches. It was delicious. There are no TV's here, however, they do have WiFi. Only suggestion I have is to steam clean the recliners and carpets in rooms. There is a pungent odor coming from the recliner I sat in. We definitely would return one day.

There is a nice fire area and we loved sitting outside at the picnic table enjoying the peace and quiet. It is so secluded that you literally have zero noise at night...that was definitely different for us since we are used to the constant noise of living in the city! I say "mostly clean" because the shower curtain in the upstairs bath could have used a good scrubbing, or better yet, been replaced altogether. I'm not a fan of shower curtains in lodging type places as it is, but if they are going to use them, I would even replace them after every couple guests or so. They can be purchased very inexpensively. But I prefer a door on the tub or shower, anyway. The sauna also didn't get as hot as I thought it would, unless we were doing something wrong, which is absolutely possible. :) But still was nice to sit in the warmth. Over all it was an awesome place. I will stay there again. Great place to go as a couple or with a group. Great location and great price! Love it!

We stayed at the Village Dreams wing and it faces the main road. It can get noisy with traffic but the sound of the air con acts as white noise to drown it a little. We cannot seem to control the temperature of the air conditioning so it gets very cold (it is summer now) and then we had to turn it off completely. Aside from these minor inconveniences, we were very impressed, it's great for larger families or group getaways. The main tourist shops are just outside your door!
