This is the guy you don't hope to see....but if you must...this is the guy you will WANT to see. The shy and pleasant, highly skilled Dr. Jong is an oral surgeon. Our visits required skill at pulling particularly malignant teeth, bone grafting, and preparing the mouth for implants. A referral to Dr. Jong came with high praise from our own wonderful dentists, Dr. Tomazin and Dr. Kim located in Riverside. They are part of a special circle of dentists in our area who are holistic practitioners. My husband has been a patient of Dr. Jong's for at least a couple of years. Mr. B has the gift of particularly bad genes when it comes to teeth. In each instance, we chose to replace those rascals with an implant. Ripping them out all at once was not in the cards, they chose to demand their own attention one...at...a...friggin...time. So having a trustworthy dentist for each these instances was essential. And now, most recently, it was my turn to visit the good doc after a back molar with an old root canal decided to crack and become infected. I was informed these are the kind of teeth that no dentist wants to address unless they are specialized. Enter Dr. Jong. His spacious, impeccable office has a calming vibe and his staff are delightful. More importantly, he pays close attention to make sure that you will feel no pain during the process. Unlike the commercials I see these days that promise you brand new implants in one, yes ONE day (not sure how that goes), this process promises to be a test in patience. Mine required multiple visits starting with x-rays from 3 specialists before they decided this tooth was a real loser, followed by subsequent visits for the extraction and bone grafting, another for stitch removal, then waiting 4-5 months for the graft to take and the gum to heal. Then Dr. Jong does the actual implant process. The last tah dah is my personal dentist who performs the final crown fitting and installation. So there you have it. A glorious way for me to support the dental community and keep enjoying eating steak, not pablum, in my old age. Bottom line. Dr. Jong is excellent and comes highly recommended by me and my dentist. read more

Took my kids to Dr. Jong for their wisdom teeth, no problems. They loved him and his staff. I just went as well for another procedure and it was also a pleasant experience. His staff is very friendly and do a great job of putting the patient at-ease. He is also pleasant and takes his time with you so that you understand what he's going to do. Office is modern, inviting and comfortable. It's never fun to go see a surgeon but I'd recommend Dr. Jong to anyone. Dr Jong and his techs are the finest oral surgery team in SoCal. I'll say I am every dental team's nightmare, I have 10 blown discs so I live on narcotics daily (Vicodin and a Morphine patch), it's almost impossible to numb me. I also have a paralyzing fear of dentists after a horrible surgery elsewhere years ago. Dr Jong took no less than 15 min to explain my options both now and in the future, how I can do the massive work I'll need affordably, his techs Adriana and April are kind, patient and distracted me with conversation and cool 80's music until they put me out. My 2 extractions were rotten, broken teeth, no extra charge and they billed my insurance for every cent possible. I've had many surgeries and not one held a candle to this magnificent team. They put me out and billed my insurance for the anesthesia (not an easy task for them). They truly care about you there, you will never find a more skilled or caring staff. read more

After a severe wisdom tooth infection, I was referred to Dr. Grant Jong, an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon for a complicated extraction of tooth No. 17 which was lying flat under the gum. After first examination Dr. Jong told me clearly that this was very complicated surgery especially since the root was deep and close to nerve. He was worried using the drill at a high speed may not damage the nerve. I had never met this doctor before and I was not sure if I should go for my surgery with him. But somehow his humble nature and deep concern for not cutting my nerve made me feel confident that I am in right hands Anyway, surgery was fixed for May 09, 2019 at 9.00 A.M. Just before surgery Dr. Jong told he will not use the normal drill but use an ultrasonic drill known as Piezo. I was given general anesthesia and surgery lasted little over an hour. Since I was sedated I was told my wife in the evening that surgery went very well and he extracted the tooth fully. To my surprise there was no pain, no swelling and no discomfort. After a comfortable night sleep I felt almost normal next morning. Dr. Jong made my complicated surgery to be a very smooth, painless and very professionally conducted one. For me it was a great moment to feel thankful to such a doctor with wonderful hands who worked hard before the surgery to research and use a different method for my extraction without harming the nerve. I felt like thanking him personally for such a great job which I did on May 14, 2019. May God bless such good doctors with higher success in their lives. Dr Jong and his team are the very best in the industry. I'm as challenging as any oral surgeon would have to face, I have 10 herniated discs from a motorcycle wreck, so I live on powerful narcotic pain meds 24/7, why is this a problem for dentists? No amount of numbing injections have any effect on me so I have to be anesthetized for everything. Also, they get almost no notice from me since the narcotics mask normal dental pain, but the second it hits, they fit me on the schedule (esp Adrianna!). Perhaps best of all, he's so good at what he does that your recovery pain will be dramatically less than any oral surgeon you've ever used. Best oral surgery business in the state. read more

Great experience with Dr Grant's office! Had two wisdom's pulled. Went to my regular dentist, who recommended i see Dr Grant for surgery because it would be complex, and i needed to be put under general anesthesia. I called the office and got an appointment. The office staff is very nice and sweet, not snobby like most other dental offices. After a check of my awesome Dental insurance coverage, they notified me that everything would be covered 100% by ins, including the General Anesthesia. Dr Grant is super chill, he is young and hip and his office is very contemporary. They use the latest technology (coming from an IT Analyst, this is always a win) They put me out, and 30 minutes later i was done. Absolutely no complications, no swelling, and i am virtually pain free (only taking ibuprofen) Very highly recommended, top notch dental office. read more

We were referred to Dr. Jong's office by our dentist after my husband needed extractions for his wisdom tooth. We made a consultation appointment and even though it was already 4p in the afternoon, Dr Jong said he would do the surgery since my husband was in a lot of pain. My husband required general anesthesia so they wheelchaired him out after surgery. The staff here are AMAZING. From the front desk, to the dental hygenist and other staff members, they all made the whole experience easy. We had to return 3x after the extraction because my husband kept complaining of the pain, and they tried to help with other healing solutions. Dr Jong was a great doctor , he is the only doctor that I've had that actually takes the time to listen and answer all your questions. I got all four of my wisdom teeth taken out here , it was pretty much painless , day of the extraction I felt no pain at all , I thought it might of been cause of all the meds , day after the surgery I felt fine as well . The day after that I started to feel a dull pain on my lower left side , only when I laid down . I took the pain meds he prescribed me at night so that I could sleep with that dull pain . This lasted for 2 days . It was about a week after the extraction that I would say I was pretty much pain free , gums still a bit sensitive but nothing I wouldn't expect. Week and a half after I'm eating normal foods again. I absolutely recommend this doctor! read more

I searched on-line for a surgeon for my 15 year-old because she needed her 4 wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Jong is THE BEST oral surgeon. Both of my daughters needed wisdom teeth surgery. One of them had a wisdom tooth that was right under her permanent tooth. With the use of his very sophisticated equipment, he as able to have a special 3D X-ray to help determine the best way for extraction. Both of my daughters surgeries were successful and a pretty quick recovery. The office staff is excellent, very friendly courteous and concerned for my needs. All of the nurses that worked along with him are excellent also. I would highly recommend Dr. Jong for any surgery or dental procedure that requires an oral surgeon. We were extremely pleased!! I can not thank the staff enough for everything. I went in with eminence pain (even though I was taking hydrocodone that another dentist prescribed me) because my wisdom teeth were apparently hitting a nerve. I could not eat or even open my mouth more than a few centimetres. I was able to get all my wisdom teeth out the same day and I was back to normal the next day (I even attended my classes and worked) with hardly any swelling! The staff members were extremely sweet as they were setting things up for the extraction and spoke to me to try to help me forget the pain I was experiencing. Dr. Jong is a great surgeon! He removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth. He was very informative about possible complications with the surgery and the possible complications for the future with out the surgery. As nervous as I was about the process he made it very smooth and made me feel like family. I had a very complicated extraction, as my lower wisdom teeth sat on the nerves. I did have some numbing in my teeth and lip, like he explained to me. But that has been healing quite well. I have been back to see him a few times since the procedure for follow ups. Dr. Jong and his staff have been nothing but wonderful and compassionate towards me. I highly reccomend him for those of you looking for some one to give you the right care. Had to have a crown and tooth removed due to an infection and start the process to get a permanent implant. The office was very clean/well decorated and all of the staff was extremely friendly. The wait in the lobby was a bit long (45 min or so), but luckily I didn't have any plans, so it was fine. After my consultation, the doctor was kind enough to fit me into his schedule that same day, which I really appreciated. I have had some reservations with other dental offices, being worried that they were over treating me for billing purposes, but didn't have that concern here. After an initial numbing shot, the removal/procedure was pretty painless. Would definitely recommend this office. read more

I don't think I could ever thank Dr. Jong and his staff enough. I had 4 wisdom teeth that needed to be removed, and one of them was touching the nerve. I was extremely scared that I would have permanent nerve damage if it was removed. Dr. Jong did all that was possible to ensure that wouldn't happen. Before my surgery, the sweet blonde nurse came out to talk to me and really made me feel more comfortable about the whole thing. After the surgery, I had very little swelling, and I have not experienced much pain. There was a little discomfort, but I did not even need to take the pain medication he prescribed.
