He would also make a kitchen (except the plumbing), move a doorway, and do several other tasks to help us create a short-term rental apartment. He happily took our 60% down payment of about $17,000.00. Five months after the proposed finish date, the stairs and the doorway still needed to be finished! Communication with him was like dealing with a strikingly cocky adolescent. My wife and I started working inside the house to hurry things along, swearing we would not pay him any more than we already had! After many attempts to work with him, Mr. Clark (The Owner) informed us that "Neighbor's Choice" had gone out of business, but he would not require us to pay the remainder of what we OWED HIM!! Not even half of the work was completed after we paid him more than half the money! We found out from his sub-contractor that Ken gave him the job with very few details and had only paid him $10K! We tried to reason with The Owner to get the other $7K back since the only work he had done on the project was to collect our check. But, pirates never give back the booty! RUN from Neighbor's Choice Remodeling or any business with which The Owner is associated!!!

We recently bought an older home near the university with fabulous 60's mid century modern charm…read more Unfortunately all the electrical was from the 50's with no ground wires and only two prong outlets! Ken came to our rescue and found a creative solution to swap out all our outlets to the three prong standard so that everything is protected and ADHERES TO CURRENT CODE and he did it without having to rewire the entire house! The way I see it his knowledge and creativity saved us a boat load of money. I will be calling him again with all my future electrical needs and I'd encourage all my friends to do the same.

Their whole team does. Jace was the one who showed up to our house today, and to say that I was impressed would be an understatement. I showed him our water heater that wasn't working, and whala! A bit later he came up and the problem had been solved! I had hot water again. I also want to add that as a mom with 5 young kids, that I had no problem letting him into our home. I felt safe and confident that he was respectful and I had nothing to worry about as I went about household chores.
