I mentioned some competitors were advertising $29.99 and $35/sf and wondered if she would like to match. She said no and told me rudely "I am in charge in this place and I set the pricing". In our conversation, she raised her voice like she was in a fight. It was absolutely a terrible customer experience for me.

What should have been a straightforward countertop installation turned into a 7-week ordeal full of errors, delays, and subpar workmanship. From the very beginning, the quality of the installation was unacceptable. The seam on the island was sloppy and drew immediate attention, outlets didn't fit properly due to poor measurements, the sink alignment was off, and the caulking was carelessly applied. A Side splash was installed on a wall I never approved, and the company did come back to remove it, leaving me to pay my contractor to patch and fix the wall. Despite multiple visits to "fix" the issues, the repairs were never up to standard. The same seam was worked on several times and left looking dull and worn on either side. Instead of using new material, they repeatedly tried to salvage the damaged piece, even suggesting shaving off sections of the quartz -- hardly a professional solution. Communication was often kept professional with the operations manager, Tim, but came across as cold and short during the final visit, which only added to the frustration. After several follow-ups and ongoing dissatisfaction, they finally agreed to remake the island with a new slab. By that point, I had already lost nearly two months of use in my newly renovated kitchen. I expected a professional job and instead got a prolonged, stressful mess. DON"T USE THEIR PLUMBER…read more The Konkus people were exceptional. The salesperson knew stone and made a number of helpful suggestions. When the installation crew was delayed on an earlier job, the scheduler sent an advance team to tear out the old counter to save time for the installation crew. Even so, the installation crew stayed late into the evening to finish the job. All were polite, engaging and kept the mess to minimum. They cleaned up thoroughly. They did not leave anything undone and did high quality work despite the late hour. Their notching of the counter top was precise, the seam is only noticeable if you know where to look and the fit is tight to all surfaces. The counter is level in a 100+ year old house - all without ANY damage to the already installed subway tile. It's an exceptional outcome. So why only four stars? Because the plumbing partner was not in their league. They showed up and did some minimal work and then broke off a tail piece, which the initial installer was not able to repair. They quoted an additional $200 for a different plumber to repair the break, which ultimately took 22 minutes - THREE DAYS LATER. I wound up finishing and correcting much of the install in the interim, so the final fix by the first installer was only 25 minutes. Konkus is exceptional and you will be delighted with the result. Just schedule. Plumber you trust for the day after the countertop install.

We live in a third floor condo downtown so we were thrilled to find a company that came so highly recommended and that had been able to deal with some of the complexities associated with our building. We made a call and they sent someone out to measure our floors. He was very courteous and thorough and made a map of the dimensions. He was able to do it in a way that gave us many options because we could have opted for different flooring for the halls than for the bedrooms, for example. Once he did the mapping, he told us to check out their showroom so we could choose our flooring. We went out to the showroom located in Clintonville area. When we arrived, we met a friendly lady in the showroom who explained all of our options to us. She pulled our file so that when we selected our floor, she was able to give us an estimate. She was very frank with us and I really appreciated it. She was very honest about ways that we could save money and did not push us into more expensive options. She worked with us to get us the best flooring at the best price. We made our selection and they called us about a week later to set up installation. Two gentlemen then came to our place and worked hard at putting in our new carpet. They were very efficient and moved our furniture for us for a small fee so that we didn't have to worry about it. We were super pleased with the end result. Our carpet is beautiful and plush. We will definitely use them again in the future!

They remodeled our entire basement and when there was an issue they were quick to come back and address it. Not once but as many times as it took. Ultimately, you have to decide what works best for your particular project, but I did not want it to go unstated that they make good if there is an issue.
