Went to Granite Master to pick up out a piece for our bathroom. We were instantly helped by Min (I hope I spelled that right.) super nice and helpful. We picked out our piece and paid. Price was great. One note, they will not sell or give prices unless you are a contractor or have your contractor give permission. That was ok with me. Would definitely recommend. read more

I've been dealing with granite master 8 years! I live in Louisiana. I place most orders by phone, and pick up.. It's not a place that caters to customers who are shopping, you pretty much have an idea of what you want when you get there.. Their prices are pretty much unbeatable , I drive 3 hours each way to pick up from Louisiana .. I recommend this place especially if you have an idea of what you want, you can't beat the price ! This place mostly caters to contractors and professionals. They have a decent selection of pre fab granite at good prices. Their cabinets are also decent quality. If you expect a lot of hand holding you are in the wrong place, figure out what you want on your own and be prepared to deal with a fairly unorganized way of doing business. Helping with picking out granite is difficult. We were able to find many small pieces but this was July so I was grateful that the weather was nice. It took about 3 hours of searching and measuring. The workers pretty much follow your lead. It's not like home depot. Many of them did not install granite themselves to understand when we explained to them the vision. So I used to work for a Granite place near Granite Master and all of my customers used to tell me how horrible their customer service was. I quit my job to help my husband with his company ( he installs granite) and I called to get an estimate and asked if they could send me a picture of the material my customer wanted. This Asian lady said,"it's black ", basically saying no! So I decided to buy elsewhere. I called back a second time to place an order because I basically had no choice.. the other vendors I work with didn't have the color I need. This guy picks up and asks how he can help me? I asked if I could place an order because my husband was on his way. He said,"not right now, I'm with a customer" so I asked if he place me on hold and he said he could call me back. Wth?!?!? Today was my 1st visit to Granite Master. Jeanie (sales associate) was friendly, knowledgable and extremely helpful. The cost of a wood tile is very expensive at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. The Granite Master prices were affordable and very reasonable. I would great recommend Granite Master and our experience was great. We visited them twice and were received with great attitude. The staff, Ms. Minh and Ms. Gina were very knowledgeable and helped us a lot as this was our first kitchen remodel experience. There was no pressure to purchase, no pushing for one product over the other. The price was the best among the 4 we got. The installation crew was on time and finished as expected and very courteous. Their website says open to the public but when you go and ask for prices they ask "Where your contractor at?" They want you to pick what you want, send your contractor and give him the price. Why? Wasted my time coming over here! There English is horrible, we had to ask them to repeat the answer 3x! I read the other reviews before coming and should have taken their advice. Worst experience I've had in the last 7 years I've came here. When I called to speak to a supervisor or manager about an employee named mung/mang (was trying to get his real name from the manager). Mr.mang was telling my regular clients that i was bringing in that he could do that job and they did not need my company. So beware this guy is stealing jobs from under his customers!!! And telling them false information).Mr.Mang picked up the phone himself and continued to ask me many questions, even after I stated I wanted to speak to a manager!!! Then proceed to yell at me on the phone about what i said was wrong. And I asked again could I please to talk a manager. He yells at me I am the manager and continues to yell and be very unprofessional. And I told him I will have to probably drive up there and file a complaint with his boss. He said I don't care and hung up the phone. Oh and I called back again and he refused to let me speak to anyone else. So I told him I didn't want to blow this thing up and thought I could call and speak to someone but since I can't I will take it online. To my amusement he yelled back I don't care!!!! The product seems great though I'm not a stone expert so I really probably don't have the tools to truly evaluate it. The workers that were sent out worked very hard and were very personable (well at least the one whose first language was English). Where this experience lacked (also seems to be the common theme of this Yelp thread) was continually being talked down to by the showroom personnel and staff. All in all when it came down to business office staff became more professional and accommodating on the day of the actual project. The downfall is that the workers seemed like they were trained to say 'no' by their administrative puppet masters. They tried to tell me they didn't feel like putting in my backsplash that I had already paid for bc it might have required more work than they wanted to put forth. Also I ended up having to do a huge portion of the demolition though demo was something inclusive I already purchased. They kept saying it was something they would do if they had time for after they were done with the granite. Well 10PM rolled around when they were done with the granite they could not wait to get out the door so the demolition was never completed and the clean up job was about the same as the demo. I had about 18" or so of existing backsplash and they only demo'ed the bottom 5" where they put in the granite backsplash. The remaining 13" or so of the old existing tile backsplash I had to demo myself which was not simple nor quick at all. The kicker of this whole thing is that no receipt or invoice was ever given to us as proof that they were ever even here!! Word of advice: learn Mandarin it will help maybe a little. read more

Look no further!! Just call Claire at Granite Master!! Best kept secret in Houston!! Shocked they don't have a zillion 5 star reviews. My husband and I have avoided replacing our laminate countertops in our kitchen and pantry for years because we have a lot of kitchen counter space and every bid we got was sky high and the granite choices were very blah - nothing that made my heart sing, so we just avoided it until our kitchen faucet finally died. A realtor friend and his wife have used Granite Master for years on SEVERAL house/office projects and they've always been thrilled. One of the things they love the most is how fast projects are completed. I called for a bid and it was extremely fair. I loved their granite choices. Everyone on staff is extremely helpful. Note - go in after 10am so they can really help you - it's a VERY busy place and for good reason. They are EXCELLENT! We had Zefarino and Juan as our installers - these guys were Angels disguised as granite installers. They are artists!!! We have a ton of complicated angles. Zefarino patiently helped us choose every slab so he could match it and somehow was able to carve out one of our difficult corners in one piece - everyone else that bid said it was impossible and we would have several seams. Speaking of seams, they matched our pieces so well I don't even see any. These guys were amazing! It's been about a month and we are still so thrilled. They completed the project in 3 days, cleaned up every day before they left, respected our home and our family, they were always cheerful. Honestly, we've done our share of remodeling and I've never seen guys work as hard as they did. I don't think they ever took a break to even eat lunch. The price was honored (we've had a lot of projects that all of the sudden half way through, they find extra charges - not so with Granite Master). This is the first construction project I was actually sad to see the guys leave. I can't say enough wonderful things. Our kitchen and pantry look like a million bucks! Thank you Granite Master!!! The only thing you will need is a plumber to come hook your plumbing back up - trust me, you'll save enough money with Granite Master and be so thrilled that hiring a plumber for a couple of hours is no big deal. We will be using them again for our bathroom and I will happily recommend them to anyone. read more

I purchased a small piece of granite here last summer after being referred by my handyman. Don't go in expecting much service. Be prepared to know what you want. Be prepared to give them your handyman/designer, etc. info. or they won't sell to you. I had them talk to my guy on the phone. I paid for it & my guy picked it up later. I did browse the 'showroom' (just the super crowded main office) while waiting & found a kitchen sink I want. Will call them to see if they still have it &/or will give me info over the phone. Not expecting much but going to give it a try. May have to wait until I get back to Houston & actually drive over there. Again, they are acceptable as long as you know what you want. Be prepared to go outside & flag down workers to have them get granite for you. It's almost like a do-it-yourself place. Ignore the service if you can. Just pay & get out as fast as possible! :) read more
