Such a great vineyard that isn't too far from San Diego. The views and landscaping are absolutely beautiful, the service is top notch, and the wine flights are delicious. My family and I visited in June 2021 and appreciated the fact that all seating was outdoors. They even had taco trucks to provide food since the vineyard itself wasn't offering snacks. I would rate this five stars just for the beauty and landscaping alone! read more

A little hard to find, both apple and google maps tried to bring us through a gated community which was confusing but when we called the winery, they helped us find our way. Once we got there parking was easy and they have some tables and chairs under a tent and some scattered umbrellas. The weather was nice and we enjoyed the scenery outside. I found this place through Groupon and using my voucher was easy. The wines were tasty and we ended up going home with a bottle. We happened to be there when the Algo Bueno food truck was there and really enjoyed the food! read more

We had our daughter's Girl Scout bridging ceremony at they're picnic area and it was amazing, so relaxing listening to the water falling on the rocks and flowing through the stream. Big trees which give you so much shade, and the views we're beautiful. Afterwards we headed over to the wine tasting room to get a bottle to take, had my first tasting and was perfect. Voke was so sweet and I can feel her passion for what she does, she was very helpful and it was very nice chatting with her. I can't wait to come back for a picnic. FYI I've heard through the grapevine that pumpkins might be in the making, my kids would love this so much!!! You need to visit, pictures are nice but not nearly close to how beautiful it was. read more

I went this weekend apparently during their busiest hours. Despite having several groups in the small tasting room, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I thought it was neat to see the equipment and barrels. To my surprise, I liked the white blend, but the Cab Reserve was pretty good too. They had a small selection of refrigerated food, but I thought it was appropriately priced. I was told you can bring your own food. I partook in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings, which I thought was tasty and a nice touch. I tried the smoked salt and think I'll try it in my brisket rub! This place is going to be gorgeous in the future from what I can tell by the plans in the tasting room. I'll give them some time to adapt because I like to support local wineries. By no means is it fancy like Temecula wineries, but I liked the quaint atmosphere. I didn't bring kids this time because the Facebook page didn't state it was kid friendly. The employees related it's okay to bring children, but they don't offer any child activities, while parents wine taste. However, I saw a picnic area that looks like a good space for kids when the weather is nice. Overall I had a great time! read more

Came across this winery in a google search and I am so glad I did! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. And the wine is great. They have a cute picnic area with a waterfall. I have taken several friends here and everyone loves it. We like to pack a lunch and enjoy it by the water. They also have a great wine membership that I just had to sign up for! From the moment we got there, we should've turned around. Obviously it was a Groupon find. But I really did trust their 4.5 star rating. Underwhelmed to say the least. Ordered two samplers. Overpriced mediocre wine, poured into TINY shot glasses (that were super dirty .... see photo attached). I was so unimpressed and underwhelmed. The cheese ( all $10 each ) was from Trader Joe's and the crackers ( $5 a box ) was .... Trader Joe's as well. They don't have their food license, and thank god my girlfriend saw that the cheese was past it's expiration date .... Yuck. We finished our samplers and got out of there. I never even felt anything from their wine. If you're in San Diego, go to Caruth Cellars. That should set the bar for standards and value (they have a legit 4.5 star rating.) Honestly, this place isn't worth showing up if you think it's going to be anything like the vineyards in Temecula (and Apple Maps is going to take you to a gated community you won't get access through , causing a 15 minute delay). And as far as the groupon's $20 off 2 bottles .... We didn't even use it. At an average price of ~$40 a bottle , I wasn't getting suckered into that. I could get a $23 bottle of DAOU , or a $20 bottle of Decoy, which would blow their wine out of the water. read more

My husband and I are very particular about the wines we drink, having owned a vineyard and a wine broker, were extremely pleased with the white and red wines we tasted today. We were looking for wines to serve at one of our annual events and two especially will be perfect! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the variety of wines they served. This is a small winery off the beaten path, very cozy, and worth telling my friends about. They also offer a variety of olive oils and basalmic vinegars that were quite tasty. FYI in the review on 2/15 where the customer asked the server which wine was better and what the difference was, the server's response was "Everyone's tastes are different so what I like you might not." My Mother in Law who lives in RP received a flyer in the mail about this winery and passed it along to us as we live in Alpine and it is much closer to us than her. We have literally been looking at this flyer weekly longing to be able to go try it out but timing has just been off and we have not made it out to them until today. Honestly, I wished we would have just tossed the flyer and forgotten all about this place. One word to describe this place: Unwelcoming! First off the tasting area is very small. Literally only 2-3 people can fit at the bar at a time. There are a couple of tables and chairs out front on a porch type area and then inside there was a couple sitting near the door, and that was that when it comes to seating. Our 4 year old was with us and I was wearing my 6 month old. When the couple sitting near the door left my Husband grabbed one of the barstools for my 4 year old to sit in. The guy behind the bar literally screamed across the room at my Husband saying that those chairs were for sale and could not be used to sit in. Really? So why was it okay for that couple to be sitting there when we walked in? And also, what the heck?! Nowhere did it have sales tags or anything on them or signage saying not to sit in them. It was just extremely rude and I think we were just a bit shocked. We already started our tasting though or we would have just walked out at that time! We did not care for the wines at all. They fell completely flat for us. We were also pretty disappointed by the lack of variety on the tasting menu. There were two Cabs on the taster menu, one that was just straight Cab, the other was "Reserve." I asked the girl who was pouring our tasters which one was better in her opinion and what the difference was. Her answer was hilarious! She literally told me, "Everyone's tastes are different so what I like you might not." Really? What an uneducated piss poor answer to my question. I was expecting that she was going to tell me maybe the difference in the tasting notes, maybe the difference in when the grapes are harvested, or any other little thing that makes these wines unique. So the wine was not good and it doesn't seem like all the staff is really educated in being able to discuss their offerings. What I also found pretty gross was the fact that the entire time we were having our tastings their were dirty glasses sitting right in front of us that they could not be bothered to clear. The girl literally almost poured our tastings into the dirty glasses a couple of times but didn't remove them. Seriously? They have a variety of little snacks and cheeses etc available. My 4 year old spotted a tiny bag of Cheetos, the same size that would come in one of those packs you get at a grocery store to put in your kids' lunchboxes. When we were closing out our tasting I reminded the girl that we has the Cheetos. She asked the guy how much to charge us for those, he replied $2.50!!! The girl's mouth kinda dropped and she looked at him and said $2.50? He then proceeded to tell her in front of us and the other customers that it was a mark up just like snacks at a bar and that is how they "make their money." Unbelievable! Maybe if they made better wine and actually showed a bit of hospitality that is where they would make their money? Do not come here! read more

My husband and I came here on a Friday afternoon and it was completely empty ! (Which I loved) more one on one time with server to get to know and have a nice conversation which was wonderful! Our server was Voke and she was the sweetest, most helpful server! Guided us through our tasting and educated us on her wine club (which we will hopefully be joining eventually!) We brought both our pups who were welcomed with open arms and enjoyed the beautiful grounds! We brought a picnic and enjoyed the ambiance of the vineyards and the waterfall! We ended up taking home a bottle of the Stony Oaks which is a tasty red blend! The wine was pretty decent, but the service and ambiance were wonderful! Definitely worth a visit !! I love this place. It's family friendly, and Voke is amazing. She knows my husband and I by name, and when I walk in the door she greets us by name. We also come in with our toddler twins, and Voke always loves on our twins. She loves kids, so this is a great place to bring your family. Granite Lion Cellars is an amazing winery in Jamul. We hosted a charity event there and the staff was exceptional. The site was beautiful. Everyone had an amazing time.
