It would be impossible for me to overstate how FANTASTIC Sharon Center Veterinary Hospital is. My…read morewife and I brought our two Lop rabbits (since deceased due to natural causes) and our first cat there back in 2010, shortly after we moved to Ohio, on a recommendation from my mother-in-law, who had been bringing her pets there (dogs and cats) for some time before that. In all of that time -- almost 11 years -- SCVH has always provided our pets with the finest care and gone out of their way to accommodate us appointment-wise. Dr. Nathan, Dr. Faust, and Dr. I -- three of the finest veterinarians you will ever bring your cherished pets to. And of course I have to mention the girls who work in the front, and the vet techs, who are all super nice, accommodating, and always have a great attitude.
If your pet just needs routine vet care -- like yearly shots or whatever -- you could probably go to any vet for that and it's no big deal. It's when your pet suddenly becomes ill or develops some sort of medical issue -- serious or otherwise -- that you need a vet you can really trust to diagnose the illness or issue or injury and provide proper treatment and care. This is where SCVH really stands out. In the past 11 years, we've brought our pets to them for everything under the sun -- shots, colds, cat fights, inability to urinate, accidents, allergies, lethargy and loss of appetite, spider bite, excessive eye goo, and other medical issues. Even though my wife and I have always taken care of our pets like they are our children (we've had 10 cats for over 5 years now), they still get sick or injured from time to time. It's really unavoidable, especially when you have so many pets in the house and when some of them are indoor/outdoor.
And through all of it, the doctors at SCVH have always been extremely professional and gone out of their way to provide our pets with the best care possible. Each time they make sure to do whatever it takes to get our pets healthy again. All of the doctors there know what our pets mean to us and they are very respectful of it. They really take the time to diagnose and treat whatever the illness or issue has been, and they provide excellent follow-up, including clear instructions for us on what to do at home regarding medications and any special feeding. It means the world to us to see our pets get back to normal after they received treatment and care at SCVH.
This is the part of the review where I must give a special shout out to Dr. I
MAGICIAN. That's really the best word to describe him. No matter what the illness or issue, he always seems to be able to either diagnose it right away and provide the correct treatment, or, if he is not sure of the underlying cause, he still provides treatment and medication(s) that always seem to get our pets healthy again. He also takes the time to be thorough, to clearly explain everything, and to answer whatever questions we might have.
When you love your pets as much as we do (and I know as I write this, whoever will read this, this will resonate with you as well), this means everything to you. In fact, for some time now, Dr I has been the only vet we've allowed to see and to treat our pets. Whenever we need an appointment, we always make it according to Dr. I's schedule.
Which brings me to the final part of this review -- the teeth cleaning.
Whenever we've had to bring in one of our cats for a teeth cleaning,
I practically need to take Xanax. It's the most nail-biting, stomach-in-knots,
emotionally-stressful time for me simply because our cat has to be put under anesthesia. And that is a harrowing time for them and for us because no matter what, they are at risk. Anesthesia has changed and become a lot more safe over the years but as a pet owner, you still worry. I don't care who you are. YOU WORRY. And until you receive the call that tells you all is well,
YOU WORRY. That is the reality.
Well.........I am HAPPY to report that Dr. I, the only vet who has ever cleaned our cats' teeth, has a PERFECT record. Our cats have been through it at least a dozen times collectively, and Dr. I has always done a fantastic job. And more importantly, he always gets our cats back to us safely. When Dr. I called me yesterday to let me know that our cat was awake and doing well after his first teeth cleaning (he's almost 6), I made sure to tell him how thankful my wife and I are for everything he does for our pets and to ensure their safety and well-being, especially regarding their teeth cleaning. THANK YOU, Dr. I -- we really do appreciate everything you do for our cats.
The only thing I worry about with Dr. I now is that in telling you all how great he is, you'll all rush out to make appointments with him and we'll never be able to get our cats to see him again...hahaha.
From my wife and myself and our 10 cats -- a genuine and heart-felt THANK YOU to everyone at Sharon Center Veterinary Hospital. God Bless.
