What a beautiful view of the city along the river. There's ways street parking and lookout spots along the trail.

I went here with high hopes reading somewhere that if you have time for 1 place to visit in Pittsburgh, this should be it. I must say that I was not disappointed at all. This place has amazing views of the Pittsburgh skyline and is open 24X7. This place is free to visit but parking could be an issue if there are many people. It also has a viewing deck for a great view. My only regret was that I visited this in the morning. Next time, I am definitely going to try to be here at night and get the night view as well. A must visit place in Pittsburgh any time of the day!

Grandview overlook offers a breathtaking view of Pittsburgh from above. While it's quite a walk from the incline to get there, you may need to take your time as you'll be walking up and down a steep hill twice. However, the walk is definitely worth it for a different view of the city.

This is a beautiful area to visit with several extended overlook spots, a walking path along the scenic side , & beautiful structures on the opposite side of the road. The drive up to the overlook was easy and peaceful. Highly recommend to check out this place . @WineDinenVacay

The Grandview Overlook boasts the perfect view of Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle. The Overlook, as it is called by locals, is located on Mount Washington, a 450-foot hill that is popular among residents and tourists alike. The Overlook runs the length of Mount Washington and provides vantage points of Pittsburgh's beautiful Skyline. we parked street side parking and enjoyed the look from the 2 overlooks. both are adjacent to each other. The Grandview Overlook is also located within the impressive Emerald View Park, a 257-acre park that consists of the Grandview Scenic Byway, and three historic spaces; the Grandview Overlook, Olympia, and Mount Washington. It is a perfect spot to watch a gorgeous Pittsburgh sunset. and free to visit.

I could never overlook this overlook

It's important not to Overlook the Grandview Overlook. Very few cities in the world can rival Pittsburgh for sheer beauty, and this is one of the reasons why. The Thomas Gallagher Overlook is one of the first places I always send everybody that comes to Pittsburgh to. You just can't imagine this kind of beautiful - we're talking sublime supreme Urban Beauty - surrounded by hills and mountains - until you come to Pittsburgh and see this for yourself. It's nothing short of magnificent. And of course the main thing to see here is the amazing Skyline. Speaking of which: For mixed-sex couples who want action with me, call my Bi-Line If you want some explanations, phone me on my Why-Line If you're sad and need a shoulder, you should try my Cry-Line But if you want the best view around, try Pittsburgh's Skyline! If you get drunk in Pittsburgh, and then need a bathroom, you may have trouble finding one, hence the nickname "P*ssburgh", but what some people that don't know P***burgh very well don't know, is that this city has one of the most beautiful skylines in the world. Still one of the most beautiful skylines in the whole world. You got to see a little of it during the recent "Grudge Match" boxing movie, but it's still so unheralded and unappreciated compared to other, often inferior, skylines. Los Angeles is amazing with the mountain behind it (from a distance), whereas San Francisco and its bridges is incomparable, and Rainier as a backdrop to Seattle is incredible. Don't forget Philly, Houston, Dallas, the spectacular lakeside Chicago, and the blue tropical-scape of Miami. While New York City probably wins, I'd actually put Pittsburgh at the top of the list for the runner up spot. The best place to view the skyline (and there are many, many options) is Grandview Avenue, which is also listed and reviewed on Yelp. The viewing platforms up there are incredible. Another great view is on your way through the tunnel from the West... it's a low trajectory view, but it's breathtaking. I love heading into Pitt on the interstate from the North (I-279 I believe), and seeing it unfolding behind the gorgeous mountains. So indeed. It's one of the most incredible skylines in the country, and one which always takes my breath away and has ever since I first saw it a long time ago when I came to Pittsburgh to play a concert, so many years back, but it meant a lot to me, and the City of Pittsburgh totally changed my life for sure. I certainly think it's one of the most underrated skylines in the history of skylines. No matter what angle you see it from - especially if you're coming over a hill and then you see it - it just takes your breath away. Especially considering there is really nothing in the way of cities for hundreds of miles, in at least 80% of the directions from Pittsburgh. If you head Ohio way it's a little bit different, but still it's just amazing of here. One of the most amazing parts of the country that's for sure. If anyone ever tells you Pittsburgh isn't beautiful and spectacular, they don't know what they're talking about. Even if a lot of the guys here have an attitude, hence the nickname "Pr**ksburgh." And while you're here, this is what you eat: 1. Rib Eye Taco at Las Palmas on Brookline. It's out front, open from roughly 10 to 8, and you have to ask for the rib eye. One of the best and most authentic tacos you'll *ever* eat. 2. Gaucho - Get a steak sandwich. Try their 4 or 8 (I forget) different types of incredible sauces. It's Argentinian, by the way. 3. Waffalonia - along with Wafles & Dinges in NYC, this is the most authentic and delicious Belgian waffle (Liege Waffle) in USA. Get it with Spekuloos (Gingerbread) spread. So Belgian. Clever name too, if you know Belgium. 4. The Morty's Steakhouse burger at Burgatory - there are several locations - and also their coffee n donuts or pretzel salted caramel shake. 5. Amazing $11 platter with everything mixed together in a huge heavy box from the Turkish specialty restaurant underground in downtown, Istanbul Grill. 6. Proscuitto sandwich with Fresh Mozz and Roasted Peppers at the amazing and underrated Groceria Merante. 7. Authentic, delicious Chicago dog at Yovi's near downtown, closes late afternoon. 8. Banh Mi & Boba at, er, Banh Mi & Ti. 9. Amazing chx sandwiches at Bird On The Run. 10. Great curries at Took Took Thai Street Food. And best of all (but it depends on your taste) 11. India On Wheels - get the Chicken Tikka Masala from this cart, open 11-6 most days, just north of the Cathedral Of Learning on Bigelow... right by the entrance to the Soldiers & Sailors building. $5.50 for a large, and it's enormous. Adjust your spice level accordingly. Like the curries in England. It's heaven. There's no 12, but 11 is heaven.

Dear Yelpers This is definitely a MUST see for your Pittsburgh visit! Especially at night. A trip up the duquesne incline and a half mile walk to the overlook is for sure worth it! I could use a lot of words but the picture says it all! Your friendly neighborhood foodie

This is a "Must See & Do" when visiting Pittsburgh! Such beautiful views of the city below from this perch. You can see the three rivers of Pittsburgh from here, as well as the point that juts out into them from downtown below.

Best view of the city anywhere. There was plenty of street parking when we were there, at around 1pm.
