I actually went to children's academy in 98 and obviously was unable to leave or even understand…read morethe concept of a review. I say all that to say, every terrible piece of childhood lore I have has taken place at Children's Academy. The teachers at the time showed very little regard for the wellbeing of the kids. As a matter of fact (this is just one instance) a kid tried to drown me on a field trip and the teachers unanimously decided I was lying. A kid showed me his nether region--they told me I was lying. I told them they didn't give me any orange slices during snack time when everybody else had them--they said I was lying. If I ever see Ms. Kim or Ms. Tan there will be problems. I mean on the bright side, I took a picture with a pony...although that's when we found out I was allergic but whatever the pic was cute I guess.

The kids all seem to be engaged throughout the day with different activities. Each age group has their own outdoor area. They have themed weeks regularly, which is fun for everyone. The staff are all friendly and professional. Also, they don't follow the school schedules so they are open almost every day with the exception of federal holidays. I really like that there is flexibility in drop off times instead of a 30-minute or 1 hour window. I plan on keeping my little here until he ages out. Highly recommend!

So since I have 5 late times which I can't control because where I am coming from always have traffic and I finish work at 5pm. Y'all *Charged a late fee for late pickup so please put that in writing that there is a limited amount of times for late pickup. I honestly wouldn't recommend anyone to send their child here. All the staff gives I don't care energy towards the kids in after school and fake smile. Also Ms Morgan she is very unprofessional she has no customer service and shouldn't be working with kids. I'm Thank you Ms Gilmore you are the best teacher to the kids you go above and beyond for them. Rehoboth deserves to be closed they don't care are value the kids!!

Pros: Most teachers are kind and have sincere interests in keeping the kids safe and teaching them…read more Some staff members are nice as well. They have some events that make it fun, like Grandparent's Day, etc. The tuition is okay given the times you can drop off the kids. Cons: You get what you pay for. It's not very clean. My child was sick very often. When I pick them up, there would always be another child with a runny nose, like a major dripping runny nose. Of course, my kid would end up getting sick that week. The administration isn't truthful. The director overlooks parental concerns and makes poor staffing choices. When she replies to your email, she would say anything to get you off her case, but there won't be any change. For example, for a classroom of toddlers, they choose an elderly teacher who can't remember the names of the students. My child was potty trained, but once this teacher began teaching, he started to regress. Additionally, he was assaulted twice consecutively by the same student. I brought up my concerns due to fear my child would get hurt again. I had the options of taking my child away from this class or roll the dice and see if he gets hurt again. Nothing was done for the offending parent. I read the previous review on yelp before I chose this school and thought nah no way, this is a church they must be good and honest people. They are NOT. I affirm this place isn't great. If you really have to, then maybe go here. Otherwise, if you can save more for another place, in the long run, don't go here. Save yourself the headaches and troubles. Seriously. Amid kids issues having daycare issues isn't what you want.

    Tree of Life Montessori School

Not…read moreonly is the school more affordable than most early childcare providers (and certainly less costly than any other Montessori programs in the area which are known to be quite expensive), but the quality of education is top notch. Prior to enrolling here, our son attended a language immersion school. The first year, he had an amazing teacher and made great progress socially and academically. The next two years, however, he began to regress due to high teacher turnover, inconsistent instruction, and a 13:1 student-teacher ratio that wasn't conducive to much individualized attention. The 6:1 class size at Tree of Life has allowed my son to get lots of 1:1 time with his teacher. In addition, the mixed-age classroom, which is a staple of Montessori education, has provided my son with the chance to learn from older students. Moreover, the student-led, choice-based instructional approach, which is also a key feature in Montessori classrooms, has provided my son with ample opportunity to explore his interests while developing independence, confidence, fine motor skills, and intellectual curiosity. A mathematician and Montessori certified educator, Marla understands the stages of child development, and the value of high rigor and hands-on kinesthetic learning. Her classroom management style is firm but fair, and her guidance has informed some of the ways my wife and I support our son at home. Marla has a genuine appreciation for multi-cultural education. She regularly teaches about other cultural traditions like Holi, Kwanzaa, and the Chinese New Year, and invites special guests (including parents) to enrich the classroom experience by sharing their unique talents and traditions. Marla sends an update (both written and via FB group) on what was taught each week and what is forthcoming, is very responsive to email and text messages, and takes multiple measures to ensure her classroom is clean and safe (i.e., locked door, classroom cameras, optional masking, temperature checks, etc.) If an affordable Montessori education, in a small, in-home setting, with a highly skilled and caring teacher is an ideal learning environment for your child; and if an 8:30-4pm pickup works with your schedule, I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND Tree of Life Montessori. It's a wonderful place!

I picked this school mainly because it was so close to my work, but ended up loving the school. Marla is very serious about teaching, very responsible, and dependable and I can feel very comfortable leaving my daughter every morning. She has only up to 6 kids in her classroom and each child gets plenty of her attention. Only thing I did not like much about was the long nap time...she had a difficult time sleeping at night. A few years after we moved out of Atlanta, we visited the school because I had a conference. She welcomed my daughter for the week that I was staying in Atlanta and she loved being back in the school. The school has such a welcoming, warm environment and this school is my gold standard for preschools.

However, finding a center which has been around for a while with low staff turn over is almost impossible. Now try finding a center where the staff has stuck around for 20 years. Unheard of right? Ok now try finding a center with those 3 criteria plus each staff member is warm hearted, and loving and patient and loves children. That is the sunshine house ran by Miss. Regina. My son attended when he was 2 till he turned 3. I am so thankful that we got to experience this daycare and all the wonderful staff members. The center is busy but never chaotic. All the kids are always in a state of ease because the teachers are ALWAYS at ease. My son started off in Miss. Jocelyn's class. She is warm and experienced and loves kids and the kids love her! This was not daycare, it was more like my son's second home. My son would tell me daily as soon as we got home "I wanna go school. I wanna see Miss. Jocelyn." It made my heart soar to know he loved his school and teacher. Shout out to Miss. Shelly who keeps the kids fed. Breakfast always smelled delicious when I dropped him off in the morning. And Miss. Stacy for being an early riser in order to care for the 6:30 drop offs. And Miss. Nita for encouraging my baby to be independent. Everytime I picked him up and his shorts were on backwards or his shoes were on the wrong foot, I knew he was encouraged to dress homself. Special thank you to the director Miss. Regina, who accommodated us in so many ways and did so with a warm smile and kind words . And a very special thank you to Miss.
