What happened to Grande Cheese? Their deli counter is practically empty. Italian imported ham impossible to find...I used to go there for Leoncini Prosciutto Cotto. It is no more. If I want to buy Brandt, I can go to Metro! Very disappointed. The service is good, the poor deli people are probably getting an earful on the daily. Time to find a new deli! read more

Dude it's a meca. The name is literally Big Cheese. They got big cheese alright. They are the big cheese. They got all you want for cheese. I've always been set. The deli counter is supreme as well, and has served me well over the years. It's always been a one stop shop for me because I love my sandwiches so much. So it would be obvious why a place like this is one of the most relevant in my life. I'm a regular. There are good things that have been created, or atleast accelerated, because businesses have had to adapt. This happens to be one of those cases. Grande Cheese never had pizza before. This only started up during the pandemic, and as a regular, I was shocked. The slices look pristine, the toppings were exciting, and they were huge. For like 3 bucks. Do you understand how much of a score that is to find an insta regular spot with bomb ass pizza that's 5 minutes from me. Game changer. Ya the actual pizza is extremely serviceable. Not my all time favorite, but a really good OG style homemade vibe kinda slice. It will hold you down, it's cheap, and it is made with things that they actually have. I'm getting pizza from the guy that is the spot for cheese and meat. With that being said, there are times when the pizza can be better. Like when I've made it at home and pull it a little too early. You gotta ask them to cook it for three more minutes, you know crunchy on the bottom. But hey, that's how it goes sometimes. You fine tune your fav spots and you get the most out of them. It's really that straight forward. It's a slice that I can go get at mostly any point and it'll do me right. read more

Great spot on Orfus Road. It's an Italian grocery but the amazing cheese selection. Also, lots and lots of European in Italian foods. Very brightly lit. Lots of parking. And I found the staff. Very pleasant. Definitely worth the trip. read more

They used to carry bread products last year from a quality bakery. Buns had texture. They must have cheapened out and now buy from Weston's. Like eating cotton balls. I guess it's cheaper. I emailed the head office to ask what previous bakery they sourced from and not even the courtesy of a reply. I was a regular shopper weekly buying Silician Meat Products. They are now gone from this location as well. I can only assume less choice and inferior replacements is their new business motto. Good luck from a similar customer. read more

Cheese heaven Rare gems are expensive and the Grande Cheese Shop in no exception. You get what you pay for so if you want a taste of the best then be prepared to shell out some heavy bucks. You name the cheese and they'll probably have it. They also have great service and hours. This sure is a cheese shop. If you are in the great Orfus Road area, you might as well pop in. I had never seen anything like it, because there just isn't space in the city core to have this much stock. It's essentially a grocery store dedicated to cheese. Sadly, cheese is an expensive item these days, and so I was limited in what I bought and tried. But I would go back if I was searching for cheese. The employees actually know what they're talking about. That's another treat when you leave the city core. I would like to invest more time in this expensive hobby, but I'm afraid of what might become of me if I do! read more

This place packs a wallop and one is hit with the smell cheesy goodness when one walks in. This is as authentic as they come in Toronto for an Italian store, complete with Italian speaking cashiers, Italian goods filling rack after rack and some items that I have only seen on line especially truffle related items. As per the name the cheese selection is amazing and there are deals to be had for some purchases. Excellent selection fresh pastas and cured meats. The biscotti variety is good as well but I didn't like the last batch I got from here. My main reason for the trip was to get particular brand of espresso but unfortunately they don't carry it anymore but nevertheless I walked away with my other go to brand Kimbo espresso bricks. They are priced very well. In addition they have one of the widest variety of espresso I have seen at any store. Italian dessert selection is good as well, some of them are imported that I haven't seen elsewhere. I can go on and on but you get the idea if you want to get your Italian grocery fix this is a very good option. They don't take any credit cards so bring lots of cash or pay with a debit card. read more

Grande Cheese on orfus another great location of this massive cheese factory. Fortunately this location does not have the pizzas and other hot meals to take out. This location offers a much broader and variety of groceries with its Italian Heritage and selection. Today the store had an amazing sample of cheeses which I had to grab a few extra bricks on the way out. One of my favourite is still the fresh ricotta with fresh baguette with drizzled honey on top. Shopped here today (Covid days) for the first time and very impressed. Sanitizer provided for your hands and rubber gloves to wear ( was told only store provided gloves allowed ) very well done!! I have not seen this service anywhere else. They have an incredible selection of meat and cheese along with other things such as espresso coffee, pastries, Olive oils, pastas and a frozen food section. Very clean and was told recently renovated as I could see because everything looked new. Staff very friendly ( with social distancing of course) . Very pleasant shopping experience and will return again for sure. I have also recommended this location to my family members as well. 1..This is a good place to practice your Italian as most of the staff and patrons are either natives or fluent speakers. 2. If you don't like the smell of provolone type cheeses, don't enter - this place is redolent. 3. The domestically produced Italian-type cheeses here are reasonable and quite good - maybe not the same level as imported ones from Italy but not bad. And they carry one of my favourite non-Italian cheeses, Dutch Leyden, for a reasonable price. 4. Deli is extensive, deals not as good as the cheese. 5. If you can't find an unusual shape of pasta you are looking for or have celiac disearse, come here. They have literally tons of fresh and secco pasta with lots of gluten free choices. 6. My Italian immigrant friend who accompanied me on the trip yesterday informed me my $137 shopping bill would have been about 40 euros in Italy. However, they pay about 100 euros for a pair of jeans, so I guess it evens out. 7. Don't go here looking for a butcher, produce, or fresh fish. It's pretty much a deli, albeit a very large one. They do have some baked goods and frozen meat and fish. read more

After my trip to Italy I started coming here to get some authentic Italian deli and cheeses I could not find at a regular grocery store. I get bresaola which is a dried salted beef and prepare it with arugula, olive oil and parmigiano...so good but one of the most expensive deli meats. I also pickup pecorino romano, olives and my new favourite burrata cheese. Burrata is a fresh cheese made from mozzarella and cream that is solid on the outside and soft and creamy inside. Try it caprese style or with a nice crusty bread with a touch of salt and olive oil...and a glass of white wine or beer. read more

Grande Cheese is a good store to shop for Italian products. However, the one minor disappointment is that certain cashiers have very little to no customer service skills. They come across as being very stern and I don't like how customers are treated. I have witnessed this on multiple occasions with me as a customer being one of them. You need to have cashiers who smile and treat customers in a friendly manner. They need to brush up on their customer service skills and be more professional. read more

I usually go to the Yonge location of Grande Cheese but I like this one more. The one on Yonge has chunks of deli ends and cheese ends, but this one has vacuum sealed pre-sliced deli pieces and things for a couple of dollars a pack and they make for an awesome addition to charcuterie plates. read more

It's worth coming here if you're looking to buy a spate of economy-priced, middle-of-the-road, Canadian-made versions of Italian-style cheeses. Need parmesan, pecorino romano, friuliano, provolone, and caciocavallo and need it to come out under 50$? This is the place to go - and they'll even grind the hard cheeses together for you at no added cost. But the reality is there is a big difference between Grande's Canadian-made cheeses and their Italian counterparts. Put a 14$ wedge of barely-aged Canadese parmesan against a 21$ real 24-month aged parmigiano reggiano and you'll quickly realize that it's the former that you've been eating at most Italian restaurants in Toronto. The former tastes of salt, the latter of milk. That 6$ or 7$ difference, if you can afford it, is well worth it. And that's why you see Grande cheese products for sale at places like No Frills, less so at Loblaws. Otherwise, the prices for imported cheese are not competitive and pretty much all of the non-cheese products here can be found in other Italian bakeries or grocery stores at similar prices and with wider selections. read more

The first thing you will notice upon entering this outlet is the aroma of cheese. Only after, will you notice a selection of cheese, meats, oils, pestos, coffee, tea, pasta, frozen meals, fresh rolls, and a large selection of Biscotti. Well stocked, well staffed, With very good prices. This is not a high end store. The parking situation is a nightmare. Pot holes, uneven ground, small spaces. Its better to park at the side of the building. The hours are not standard. Check on the day you plan to go so you will have no surprises. If one of Grande Cheese locations is not convenient, don't go. It's not worth going out of your way for. Bottom line.....good prices and good selection. read more

Great deli section - at least ten different procuittos - and many, many kinds of olives. WAY better prices than at the St. Lawrence Market - or even Kensington. A destination, for sure. So far: My mom (born and raised in Italy) started going here. I tried it. I'm now a regular. I go for the Parmigiana cheeses. Better and cheaper then Loblaws or Metro or Longos etc. I've searched, trust me. Deli meats better too. Free bonus stuff on check out bills over $60. Last time I got two tubs of free ricotta cheese. My mom loves ricotta so gave them to her. Best place to buy (and one of the only places) a whole prosciutto leg. Good quality legs at a fair price. I searched all over Toronto so I know! Love the store, hate the hours. They have a huge selection of pasta, coffee, Italian baked goods, etc. but you can get all that down the street, too. This place is about the cheese. They have a hugh selection. Pre-packaged and fresh. Being an outlet store things are usually a couple dollars cheaper per pound. On my latest trip I got a big package of sweet provolone cheese ends for snacking for about $1.50. A package of smoked sliced cheese for my sandwiches for about $2. I also got a little ball of smoked cheese that I can't remember the name of for about $5 that was good on pizza. This store is only open until 6 so anyone with a job will probably have a hard time shopping here. read more

Grande Cheese Co is amazing and the store manager, Mario, is so friendly and helpful! I recently was married and instead of having a cake (which I hate!) I wanted to have cheese wheels tiered to look like a cake. The cheese was paired with maple and it was a beautiful desert! Mario was so great with helping me to find wheels that fit together, choose the cheese that paired well with maple, and cutting it to what size I needed. He stored it for me up to the wedding date and gave me a great price. Even after the wedding when we had some left over, he offered to take it and vacuum-seal it for us so it wouldn't go to waste. It's been such a great experience dealing with Grande, I can't say enough good stuff about them. And their cheese tastes fantastic!! read more
