Very dated houseboat. We were crammed into the boat like sardines. There should be waaaay more space to move inside, but they have maximized how many paying customers per boat, so no wiggle room at all. Pouring rain, there was rain dripping into the centre of the boat. There was a hair in my salad. I had beef dinner, my husband had chicken. Both were less than good. I left most of my plate. Supposed to be choice of apple pie crumble or strawberry shortcake. The entire group was given strawberry shortcake. Coffee was bad. I didn't finish dessert or coffee. The boat felt dirty. They should really invest in new boats. The food should be better. The only thing that was good was the fresh bread. The captain of the boat gave us facts about the river, and interesting points about people that were born in the area, loon sightings, etc. The problem is that there is nothing interesting about the Grand River. It couldn't have been less interesting.
Gift shop was like it was stuck in a time warp. All knitted, crocheted and sewn items that were possibly made 40 years ago. I felt like I had been teleported back to the eighties.
Very disappointing and I do not recommend. read more
