Long story short, I got a little ambitious while trimming my beard and ended up taking the clippers a little too high, taking off way more than I intended to... Looking like a fool, I pulled up yelp and looked for barber shops in my area that were open. Rockville Barber Shop came up and being that it's literally down the block, I thought why not give it a try? MAN did I make the right call! I was immediately greeted when I walked in and Ronnie took me right away. I showed him the damage and he sat me down, talked me off the cliff, and assured me he would take care of everything. During the course of my haircut he not only made great conversation, but made sure I was comfortable and walked me through exactly what he was doing, step by step. I've never had a barber who did that and it was such a relief, especially given the situation I was in. A short time later he was done, and I was incredibly pleased with the results! To sum it up, these guys are professional, friendly, and VERY knowledgeable. They definitely earned my trust and I have no doubts that I'll be back. HIGHLY recommend!!!

I pulled up the local ones closest to me in yelp and on Google and this one was the one that ultimately felt right. And boy, was it right. Just a heads up, they do not accept credit cards so be prepared with cash. There are a couple businesses not too far away where you can use an ATM. They do not disclose their prices over the phone or on the Internet because they are very competitive and competing salons try and undercut them. I got a haircut and a shave today, and though nobody knew it, this was my very first time getting a real shave. And by real shave, I meant one that was professionally done, one that I did not do myself - I typically use 'Lectric Shave and an electric shaver. This is legit. Razor, shaving cream, hot towels. The real deal. It was an amazing experience. Every man must one day experience a real shave in their lifetime. Oddly enough, I waited until Father's Day weekend to treat myself to one. Very very pleased, very very happy. And to top it off, the gentleman who gave me the haircut and shave was the owner himself, Jose! It can be busy at times, which didn't bother me any because I could just gaze at all the memorabilia on the walls.

I wanted an unpretentious place nearby and something more than a "hole-in-the-wall." I liked that Leon's emphasized "Men's" Hair Care. I popped on over after my gym workout. I had not made an appointment, but my wait did not last more than five minutes. The establishment is spacious and there were several barbers working on their craft while amicably chatting with their clients. Since I had not been to a barber in several years, I was a little apprehensive about whether I could communicate clearly what it was that I wanted. Fortunately, my barber understood exactly where I was coming from and gave me exactly the cut I hoped for. It is a blessing to have a neighborhood barber shop employing people clients can trust. I will be back.

I came in with nothing more than a photo concept of what color I was looking for and some old photos of me from over 3 years ago the last time I colored my hair. She took the time to create the most beautiful red-head Balayage for me. She was so sweet and so personable and really took the time to listen and chat with me for over 3 hours while she worked on my hair. She made a point to fully describe the differences in the different styles of color and cut I was asking for to find the perfect look I wanted. Lexie also took the time to fine-tune exactly how much of a hair cut I was looking for every step of the way. I appreciated her taking the time to section off and dry small parts of my hair in the end to make sure the color came out exactly how I wanted it. She was incredibly thorough and really put the client's preferences first. I felt like the entire salon was so attentive and everyone was super friendly and willing to chat so there was no awkward silence throughout my entire day there. There was such a light and friendly air about the entire salon and it made it feel so comfortable being my first time there. Overall I had a great experience with Hair Machine Salon and plan on keeping up with Lexie for touch-ups over the next few months!
