I can only speak on the 2 bedroom Kentuck (facing the Zorinski preserve) There are MANY other buildings and "views" that will be different than the one I'm reviewing. LOVE LOVE LOVE this apartment! QUIET: Are there noises? Yes, it's an apartment. But it's WAY quieter than ANY apartment I've lived in or visited before. I came from a house in a "quiet" small town, where there were MUCH louder neighbors. I often have all electronics off and (most often) enjoy a very peace and quiet time. Full disclosure about noise: There are some people that allow their doors to slam when they enter and leave, you CAN really hear everything in the hallway, but honestly, these noises are fleeting as people come and go quickly, no one is holding a party in the hallway. I rarely ever hear anything through the floor or walls. My neighbors have dogs and I've NEVER heard one bark for long. Once in a great while I will ONE "woof" in excitement when the owner gets home. Two years in, we had a very active upstairs neighbor. The staff was amazing, they spoke to him and gave him alternatives to his extremely loud activities (offered him free use of the media room). That helped but we decided it was time for us to move to a top floor apartment. Once a two bedroom, third floor facing the Preserve opened up they got us in!. If you're super sensitive to footsteps above you... get a top floor apartment. The steps ARE worth it! SIZE: It's HUGE for the price. Check out other luxury apartments, this size, in Omaha and you'll find you're getting a LOT of bang for your buck. COMMUNITY: I am a weirdo loner, but there are a LOT of community events, sweet residents and caring staff. If you enjoy a sense of community, I would totally suggest living here. If you're a hermit like myself, I would also suggest this apartment complex because no one pushes me to "join". In other words, I feel welcome to "join in" (on whatever) but not pressured. THE FREAKING VIEW: SOME of the Grand Legacy apartments (including mine) directly face the Zorinski Preserve. Which means I'm seeing (NO other apartments) but rather, a ton of gorgeous trees, LOTS of wildlife, including cranes, coyote calls, owls, deer, too many other types of birds to mention. I sincerely feel like I'm in a wildlife sanctuary or treehouse! OFFICE STAFF: From day one I've felt taken of, comforted and at ease with the staff here. They ALWAYS listen to my concerns, question, needs and do everything they can to accommodate me. I mentioned that I'm quite a hermit. Instead of hitting the big box stores I utilize Amazon for EVERYTHING. As you can imagine, I'm getting lots and lots of packages. They are so sweet and never made me feel bad about that. They have even helped me out with heavy ones! GARAGE: The garages are HUGE.. super deep. I am a "long term" camper, biker and kayaker so I have a TON of camping gear, four bikes, six kayaks, plus furniture storage (for friends), tires, etc, etc and have PLENTY of space left. MAINTENANCE STAFF: These guys are the BEST. Just today, I did something stupid and overloaded my garbage disposal. Maintenance came out within the hour (as they usually do) took care of it and even though I was the issue, treated me very nicely and just explained how to use properly. NO irritation. This is just one instance, they've been amazing with every single thing that I asked for or needed. LOCATION: The Zorinski Trail head is SUPER close by! I am able to walk or bike to it in minutes. Anything you could want is within walking distance or a few minutes drive or bike! In this particular apartment, I feel that I'm in the middle of nowhere but have ALL the amenities I could ever ask for. I actually wish I knew about this earlier, I would have sold my house and lived here sooner! If you've read all of this, you deserve a medal. If you're considering The Grand Legacy Apartments - I would HIGHLY recommend!! read more

Julie, the person posting below, is incorrect. First, I've lived here much longer. Our previous manager was fantastic and wasn't fired because of mistreating others. She was fired because CIP in Lincoln played politics. Unfortunately, GL apts are part of a 21 property conglomerate. Being a 12 year old property, it is still newer than most in their portfolio. So, it has been a training ground for managers; i.e. new managers every 4 months. Rent is raised every year in order to compile revenue to maintain the many older properties. The "new" security gate she refers to continues to be inoperable on many occasions. Regarding "Matt's" previous comments, he seems to be a millenial in search of a place more suited to downtown-types. It's hilarious that he feels GL is an "old folks" home. The blaring mufflers from the motorcycles and low-rider hot rod North Omaha atmosphere says otherwise. Slamming doors, cross-fit running up the stairs and loud clunking garage doors under your apartment are more in line with his age group. Speeding traffic and horrific parking rounds out the immentities. And if you're a dog owner that never picks up after it, or walks your pets without any leash, then yes, maybe being a grown-up can be tough. And my neighbors and I have never heard of Nancy M., the person representing GL in a reply to the prior review. Must be from Corp in Lincoln, or yet another new "district" manager? read more

Wouldn't recommend. Lived there for a year while building a new home. Most of the time the "Security gates" were broke. The road noise from 180th is LOUD. And there is some resident turkeys that aren't friendly. The staff always seemed too busy to want to help. And in 1 year we had issues with: dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, garage door opener (twice) and the alarm system went of randomly while out of town (we never even activated it!!). When leaving they charged me to replace carpets which cost more than the brand new carpet in my new 4000sq ft home?!? And to paint, etc... What was my deposit even for! That place will be so much nicer than what it was when I moved in thanks to MY MONEY!! What a scam... read more

I have been a resident of The Grand Legacy since 2015, we have gone through a few managers, and unfortunately I do understand the woman below's post. At the time she came, our staff was being abused by the Manager of the property, and was promptly fired in August. I really am sorry for her experience. That being said, we have moved forward and have a wonderful staff here, in my humble opinion. It's one of the main reasons we have stayed. Small, gated, friendly community. The amenities and views are astounding, and maintenance and staff are very friendly and willing and able to answer every and all questions. They are compassionate about what they do and are constantly trying to improve on resident experiences from pool parties, to holiday dinners/get together, it's been a welcome and needed improvement. With the new security gate, snow removal, and cleaning service, we couldn't ask for more...except a pool table...and a ping pong table! =) Being a name and not a number when I walk in the office is a huge plus and the floor plans are spacious and accommodating. Pet friendly and has onsite garages to rent. One of our biggest amenities is the 2 bedroom 2 bath Guest Suite that cost less than any local hotel to rent! Come visit the Grand Legacy, even if you're visiting again. Julie Ann read more

It feels like a Old Folks Apartment Complex with a few young adults scatters about... If you aren't super quiet the old people will complain and get you in trouble or just be absolute rude to you or your dogs... I just wish it had more of a young professional vibe like the Village on the Preserve. read more

I just left here inquiring about their availability. The rep was rather curt, i understand why as it can b in their nature, however, it's not appropriate in business environments especially when trying to attract business. I had to continue setting a cordial tone of which he quickly caught on n matched it, until he asked for my name and i explained that im merely in exploratory stage and may not need an apartment, my dad had just passed a couple weeks ago (and my head is reeling) but couldnt even finish that sentence b4 he pulled the map of the property out of my hands (i kid you NOT), tacked it back to his board, and replaced with a flyer and said, "that has everything you need to know" in a definitively dismissive tone. Not even a "im so sorry for your loss.".... On my way to the next complex... Now, n fairness to full disclosure, after processing what happened for a few minutes n their parking lot, i went back n and explained to him that i was not lying, showed him a post of my dad's graveside service notice and let him know that while his time is valuable, that not everyone is wasting it or lying, and more thought to compassion, his words n actions needs to b given to others. At which point he did offer his condolences n a pbotocopy of the map. A lil too late, damage is done, my heart n head r reeling; but at least he made some effort to redeem the experience. read more

I would never rent here again. The manager, Lizze, is rude and there were multiple staff changes in the two years that I lived at The Grand Legacy. Lizze said that it was "so convenient" I was never able to discuss the maintenance issues I brought to their attention in person. She would call me when I was working and be upset about it! I have two jobs and I work later than the hours that the clubhouse is open. I will not apologize for being at work. My garage never worked and made me late 4 times to work, the ceiling leaked on my belongings, dishwasher never worked right, ice machine never worked and the carpet was disgusting. They wrongfully accused me of damaging every square inch of the carpet in my apartment. When I first moved in, I noted on the move in sheet the state of the carpet but when I moved out they ignored it and made me pay for it. It's not right since the carpet was dirty, smelled horrible and was tearing everywhere and I noted it. I was told I allowed my dog to urinate on every square inch of the carpet and I didn't clean it. Ridiculous! I know there was another dog living in there before me because the old apartment manager showed me the apartment and it was hers! There was dog hair, underwear and crumbs all over and it smelled. I thought they would make it nice for me prior to me moving in but they didn't. I feel like they used me to pay for carpet that they already knew they would have to replace. The pictures that Lizze sent to me as 'proof' showed damage on areas where I had my bed, couch and chairs. How could my 7 pound dog lift up my furniture and urinate underneath it all? If they are going to be jerks and make me pay for something that I didn't do, they could at least only charge me for the life of the carpet. Lizze ignored me when I confronted her about and said she actually never went into my apartment but knows I did it. They charged me over $600 for old carpet, past its life and took away my deposit without a letter stating the charges incurred. They claim they sent me a letter but it never came and I have no problems with my other mail. To make matters worse, they also questioned me about having a therapy dog and lost my paperwork! They called me a liar to my face and said I didn't need one. Why would you treat a person like this? Do not rent here. read more
