Okay, I'll admit it, I've actually been here a few times, namely because it was at the halfway mark between my friend's house and home. I wouldn't necessarily call it a rough pub, in fact it's been rather quiet the few times that I've visited, and while nothing bad ever happened to me here, my changing tastes in beer really makes me not want to go back.

We were ignored when we walked in and had to go up and ask to be seated and she just waved and said anywhere is fine ignored the fact that I had boo and I then had to ask another server for a high chair. They just dumped it by the table and I had to remove a chair for it to go there and they didn't take the chair away so it blocked a walkway the whole time making me feel guilty. We ordered a field mushroom burger and veggie risotto. There was a salad bar which was fairly average but definitely edible. Sadly the wait also let this place down as we waited almost an hour for our burger and risotto (which even cooked fresh does not take nearly that long). In the end we had to rush through our food because we were now late and didn't get to enjoy it. Food was passable - chips soggy but the burger was good.

Nugg Lyf's goodies couldn't be a better match for a beer or three and include a range of chicken nuggets (not the processed chicken you'd expect from nuggets but rather chunks of real chicken breast crafted into bite sized portions), very tasty burgers and for dessert, doughnut holes and churros. While you're there, check out the contraption that allows selected beers to be infused with a range of other interesting ingredients. I've worked customer service and would never have been this apathetic and dismissive to a customer.

The Coopers Brewery tour is helping put the Rad in Radelaide…read more The tour was rather scientific, going beyond the standard "beer is made from water, malt, yeast, and hops." I suspect this was partially tailored to our group because our small tour was comprised of beer nerds & beer lovers. But either way, this is a tour through the actually factory, not added tourist set-ups, like Guinness or Heineken tours. Which also means you get to wear bright orange vests - bonus! Our guide was great and extremely knowledgable, with an interest in home-brewing. The money from the tour is donated to charity, and the tour includes tastings of the Coopers range and a souvenir glass to take home at the end. So for both locals and visitors - pat yourself on the back for supporting charity while drinking some fermented Australian history. Tips: You must wear closed-toed shoes on the factory tour. Designate a sober driver or take public transport so you can enjoy all the beer tastings!
