Adopted a semi ferral cat. I'm always able to cut all my previous cats nails. But she just will not let me grasp her paws. Grand Grooming has walk-ins for nail clipping services. He took Lexi out of her carrier, was able to trim all four paws in a few minutes without her getting upset. He even looked in her ears to make sure all clean and didn't need cleaning. Lexi went right back into carrier and was not all all upset when we returned home. Fantastic price and so great with my cat. I go once every 5 weeks without appt. to have her nails clipped. The vet charges over 3 times as much for nail trims as Grand Grooming. read more

I found this place on Yelp. When I called the gentleman on the phone was super nice and helpful. I made an appointment to get my cat groomed for the next day. They are located at the corner of Rt. 132 & Milwaukee- in the same plaza as Consumers Credit Union. The shop itself feels like a mom and pop shop. It's not super fancy. The people who work there however seem to really love animals and offer really fair prices. I am so happy. My cat is a long haired Himalayan. She got whats called a lion cut. Which is common for long haired cats. It makes them comfortable for their grooming needs. They did an awesome job on her haircut and it only took around 2hrs. Also she was so happy when i picked her up. She did not seem stressed at all about the whole process. That tells me they took good care of her. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Called 3 times this morning...no answer. Their machine says they don't return messages. (What???) They finally answered and said they were open until 230. Their hours online say 330. (It is easy enough to update google hours) They need to update their information. I saw they had 2 dogs being serviced so I went in without my 2 dogs because they are big and loud and I asked the person to let me know when they were ready to help me and I could bring mine in. (I was parked right in front of their window, so a waiver would have be sufficient) He responded with bring them in, so I did. They took my smaller calmer non barking dog first and my other dog wouldn't stop barking because that's what he does when he is nervous. Their phone rang and the first guy (the only one who said anything, younger of the two) said can you take your dog outside I can't hear. Well sir, this is why I asked you to let me know when you were ready for my dogs. This is the second time I have taken my dogs there and I was unsure about the place because the first time they had no customer skills either but gave them the benefit of the doubt. NOPE they still have no customer skills. If they are treating me like this when I am there I don't want to leave my dog with them without me. I do NOT recommend this place one bit and will not return. Also, you have to wear a mask when you go into the place, it's 2023 people figure it out! I am not sure how two people can be so grumpy/crabby! I left without getting my "barking" dogs nails clipped, I didn't want to put him through that. Us animal lovers know that our dogs can feel the negative in people. Extremely disappointed in the way that Collin talked to me on the phone. I missed a appointment and was calling to reschedule. Collin states that they are booked until next week on Friday. That would be over a week, I politely asked if there was a wait list for cancellation. And Collin temperately, lost his mind while on the phone with me. Stating that it was my fault that I missed my appointment and no there is no wait list. I has to remind him that I am human and made a mistake. Basically not his problem. This would have been a new dog I was taken, previous dog went there for a bout 10 years. Never had a issued. Collin needs to watch how he talks to people. I have a Persian cat and was looking for someone to groom her and clip her nails without scaring her to death or terrifying her. Carlos really melted my heart and astonished me with his skills!!! He was kind enough to let me be present during my cat's grooming process, as I was stressed and nervous. He is a true professional and a real cat whisperer!!! He've done an amazing job with my cat, her hair looks so beautiful and healthy and she was not fighting him during the process. I have been going to grand grooming for 6 years. My dog gets cuddles from the guys every time we walk in before they take her to the back. They take time to ask what I want done. 8 out of 10 times she is cut at the length I am looking for. Occasionally, like this last time, her ears have not been cleaned, which tells me they rushed at the end. I usually check before I leave and they take the time to clean them. Overall, I am satisfied with their service. read more

This place is great! I brought my dog who is pretty easily scared here for a nail trim. She was shaking and scared as per usual and the groomers here were great at calming her down and making her comfortable. They checked her ears with out me asking and gave me great advice about how to make her feel better. The cherry on top was that her nail trim was THREE DOLLARS, my normal place is 15! I called to make an appointment for my dog. The owner asked when I wanted to come in and I asked for their soonest Saturday appointment. He pretty much scolded me and said the soonest they could get me in on a Saturday was in three weeks. I said that was fine, I wasn't in a hurry for my dog to get groomed since she had been groomed three weeks prior. He said to bring my dog in on that Saturday between 7:30 and 9:00. He didn't ask for my name. He didn't ask for my phone number. He didn't ask for my dog's name. He didn't ask what type of dog she was or what kind of grooming I wanted done. So I am not one to write reviews much but felt it necessary to write a little note on them. My fiance brought our dog in to get cut and wanted the cut to be half the length we brought him in and still fluffy (since he's a maltipoo) and unfortunately he came back almost completely shaved off with little hair left. While the prices are good you definitely get LESS then what you pay for. When this was brought up, the individuals working were offensive and standoffish saying that we had "know idea what we wanted." When in actuality it was described to the T what we wanted. read more

We our new to the area and thought we try the place out. When we first got there the owner was very rude said loudly you go outside with your dog before bringing him in here and when we entered the store it was very dirty and old. Fair warning this is a bad place ! Our dog was cut and bleeding when we picked her up. They said nothing was wrong but the chin area was red and you could tell she was cut. Hate this place! took my shih-tzu there showed them a picture of what I wanted her haircut to look like. all they did was shave her bald! She had patches all over the place! I complained to the gentlemen and he totally disregarded what I had to say. I took her to Petsmart after they couldn't even figure out what blade they used on her that's how uneven and messed up her haircut was. Will never go there again and I don't recommend at all! read more

Worst experience ever. Thought I'd give it a shot since their prices are super reasonable.....I will gladly pay more somewhere else that grooms my dog instead of 35 bucks to pick up a completely shaved ridiculous looking dog. I had told the gentlemen exactly what I wanted and he even repeated it back to me when I dropped him off. My little guy went from a little over 2 inches of curly hair that was adorable little fluffy mini poodle mix to a shaved dog with only some fluff left on his ears and tail. He looks absolutely ridiculous. Did not even recognize him when they brought him out (Not exaggerating) Also, when I called later to discuss what happened the other guy that I didn't even talk to when I dropped him off and wasn't the one that even cut him told me I clearly didn't know what I wanted and that it really wasn't that short.... If you choose to take your dog here....Please stay and supervise unless you you're going for the summer shaved-no fur look for your dog! read more

When a bargain is not a bargain: Grand Groomers. Before the last trip, I had three good experiences at Grand Groomers, but the 4th time was a disaster. I arrived 30 min before closing time and one of my three miniature poodles was still being groomed. I want in the backroom to pick up the two dogs that were finished. What I discover in the holding room was disturbing. Squalid and filthy conditions. I realize that it's a dog groomers not a hospital, but this was unacceptable. They rushed through the trimming of my last dog. I promptly paid and we left. The employees shooed us out the door in an abrupt fashion. When I got home the dogs were behaving erratically and shivering uncontrollably. I gave all three dogs a close inspection and discovered that they had all been cut and were bleeding. One dog on an ear, a second on it's underbelly and the third had three cuts on its leg. Apparently it is more important to get the dogs out the door by closing time then do safe quality work. One dog required a trip to the vet and a bedspread was ruined because of blood stains. Please do your dog a favor- use another groomer! This place was abusive towards my dogs. read more

The people are rude, the place looks dirty and then even though my dog is trained to only go on a pad, they tried to force me to walk my dog on the grass to pee when I know she won't...I know what's better for my dog! I have taken my dogs there for nearly 15 years. They may be a little informal but they love the animals and care for them greatly. I tried to go somewhere closer to home but no one ever did a job as well as they did. Give them another chance. It may not be the most beautiful salon and they may be a little brash on the communication but I know my dogs are safe and loved and that is more important to me. read more

But anyways, there's this older gentlemen that is nice by the name of Carlos, and this other dude with a short curly jew fro named Colin I think and he's cool too. But theres the oldest one of all and it's this skinny tiny old dude that has a ****ing terrible attitude. Seriously this guy is the one that gets the bad reputation for the place. I've brought my dog in a couple times after 10:30AM and I walked in the door to him literally talking to me like I'm his son saying WE TOLD YOU AND WE TELL EVERYONE GET THEM HERE BEFORE 10:30AM WHY DIDN'T YOU? I was just like....dude I didn't know it was that big of a deal I have my own **** to do so relax. So basically, just disregard the old ***** that works there and there's nothing to worry about. I wish I could give them no stars. Let me just start by saying that I am a pretty easy going guy. I got there at 7AM thinking that is when they opened. Well, they open at 7:30. Okay, my fault, so I waited. Another car arrived at about 7:15 and they tried twice to get in front of me in line. Thankfully they had a larger dog to deal with and as soon as I saw his car door open, I grabbed my Yorkie mix and headed for the front door, even though Grand Grooming wasn't officially open yet. Inside I found a guy vacuuming up from the day before. There was pet fur / hair everywhere. It was disgusting. Finally after 5 minutes he shut the vacuum off and started to take down my information. I should point out that when I saw this same guy walking outside, I though he was homeless. He was dressed like a bum and very unkempt. He then said "Do you have a walyet for him". He then took a phone call and I started thinking to my self what is a 'Walyet"?. After he got off the phone, I asked him to repeat himself. He then then repeated the same thing. I said..."Are you asking if he had a "Walk Yet", he replied yes. I said yes, he went before we left the house. He said with a real jerk attitude "All dogs have to be walked before they come in here". Now my dog is a puppy and doesn't go on command and uses a Potty Patch at home. All he does outside is chase leaves and pickup rocks. I was concerned that if I went outside to watch my dog screw around for 20 minutes that now the guy with the big dog behind me was going to now be in front of me. So I said, "Well first I need to know if I'm going to be able to pick him up by 10AM, because I have plans for later that morning / afternoon". He said, "Well what do you want done to him". I said, "Just a haircut". He said, "What kind of a cut?". I said, "Whatever you normally do is fine". He said, in a cocky manner, "Its up to you". I said, "I don't want a designer cut or anything. Just a basic cut." Being a new dog owner, I have no idea what he was asking me. He just kept up with his cocky attitude, making me feel like I'm the idiot. Finally I said, "You know what, this isn't worth it....I'm getting a major attitude from you. I'll be sure to let my friend know that I've now tried to come to you twice to get my dog groomed and you just lost a customer". In a nutshell, I found Grand Grooming to very unprofessional, filthy, not at all nice and a GRAND disappointment. It was plain to see that the guy I dealt with didn't want to be there and didn't care if I was a customer or not. He said as I left, "That's fine...okay...fine." read more
