Chic little spot for an upscale meal whilst sight-seeing in Prague. I thoroughly enjoyed my prettily-presented little cheese plate, and the building itself is lovely.

One of the famous cafes in the cubic style. They have a lot of outdoor seating and some inside seating upstairs. Good place for a coffee and pastries. Professional service and it feels like art deco inside.

The spot is cute and conveniently located near the old square. The cheese omelet was also pretty good - light and fluffy with multiple types of gooey cheese, a bit buttery. However, the service here is painfully slow. It took a long time to get the menu, to order, to get our food, and to pay. We ended up being there for about an hour, which is excessively long for one omelet, a slice of cake, and a tea. Additionally, when we went, we were one of only three tables and there were about 4 servers. The servers seemed more interested in talking to each other than in helping. Main reason to go here is for the decor and decent balcony view.

This may be in the touristy section of Old Town, yet we had the most incredible traditional Czech desserts here. The veneček pastry was a delectable pastry filled with creme and topped with a delicate lemon icing. The rakvička pastry (coffin pastry) was a crisp shell that was light yet memorable. Service was quick, yet so be aware: it's cash only.

We had heard good things about this restaurant. The pastries are amazing! We arrived during the lunch hour and it was busy so service took a little longer. We ordered four pastries and all of them were great. The building is Cubist and is worth a visit in its own right.

We stopped for coffee, hot chocolate and venecek. It was all good but slightly overpriced. I would say the place is incredibly decorated and unlike other reviews, we did receive great service. I would recommend and I would like to come back when it is good weather to get a seat on the terrace.

Decent brunch spot at a decent price. Had the cafe latte with a grilled panini. It was yummy and satisfying. Does get packed quickly for brunch.

Gorgeous cafe with beautiful and delicious desserts, but definitely pricey for just a couple of pastries and an espresso.

Location location location and big beautiful windows with lots of light ...that's what this place has going for it . I have to be upfront and say that cigarette smoke REALLY bothers me. My chest tightens, my eyes water and I hate the smell . Much like a lot of Europe I guess still, they allow smoking. Actually there 4 tables just as you walk in that are non smoking but it's just ridiculous as they abut all the smoking tables so it's defining as though you are trapped in a room with heavy smokers . We won't go back for that reason only ....and the fact that the snobby attitude of the servers but honestly I tried to rate stars based on food and location only however the smoke issue kept bringing it back down. I had the warm baguette with ham, mozzarella, and pesto ...I thought it was delicious. One other has the goat cheese salad and another the cold caprese baguette and they said it was just ok. We won't be back because of the smoke but the room is cool and with the big windows, there is light flooding in and views of the city belief you.

Got a hot chocolate and a glass of wine before dinner time. My hot chocolate wasn't amazing, and the place allowed smoking within, and we were seated near the window, so we were subjected to cigarette smoke, freezing winter chills, on and off, as the waiter opened the window periodically to let the smoke out. Would not return.

A sweet and historical spot just off the main square in Old Town Prague...it really cannot be beat. Just a few meters past the Astronomical Clock, the Black Madonna (a cubist architectural highlight) hosts this sweet café on the first floor. The room is well adorned with spacious seating and tables, plus plenty of options on the terrace that surrounds the building. A well curated menu of drinks, light bites, brunch, pastry, salads, and sandwiches makes this an ideal stopping point for any time of day. Three of us got milkshakes (banana, raspberry, and pistachio) and all of us were thrilled. The salads were fresh and delicious, and our dining friends had sandwiches that were equally enjoyable. I plan to bring many friends and family here when we take them to Prague in the not too distant future!

A step back in time and a cubism gem, the interior together with the vibe and 30's music playing in the background is the thing to experience and enjoy while there. Take a coffee n read some paper printed newspapers;) Food is nothing special, but they have a good salmon tartare tho! The servers attitude is very professional but sometimes annoying while paying since they watch you when looking for money. Smth that doesn't really correspond with their kind of high end behavior..;D anyways, try it, there are not much other places like this in the world.

Very delicious coffee and treats, great late night spot. We ordered the cheesecake and coffee with baileys which hit the spot.

Bad service. Bad quality food and worse coffee. Apart from the location, it has few redeeming qualities.

Worst Aperol Spritz ever! Not much Aperol and not much Prosecco either. Ice, water and perhaps a bit a orange juice. Not to be recommended!

Our party of four (4) arrived without reservations and were informed of a 30 to 40 -minute wait. We were invited to have a drink in the bar which is off the hotel entrance. Within 20-minutes the hostess informed us that our table was ready. Duck with cherry sauce and braised beef with gravy and dumplings were outstanding. Although we did not have room for dessert, they looked amazing in display near the maître de desk. Several parties arrived as we were leaving to have coffee and desert.

The space itself is grand and beautiful, but the experience went downhill immediately. The hostess seemed to wield all the power in the room--no smile, barely any eye contact, just a curt and judgmental "no reservation." The restaurant was far from full. She then added, "I only have a side table for you," as if that were some sort of compromise. We accepted. At first glance, the waiters looked well presented, but with a bit more observation, the illusion faded. Some had sagging pants, untucked shirts, and most concerning, repeatedly inappropriate hand placement while on the floor. It happened more than once, which was uncomfortable and distracting (see photo). Overall, the place feels very pretentious without delivering on substance. The food wasn't anything special, and the desserts were average at best and certainly not worth the hype or the attitude. I wouldn't recommend Cafe Imperial to friends, especially if you're expecting a warm welcome or standout desserts.

My omlette was very good, with goat cheese and spinach, and my wife liked her eggs which were sunny side up over some vegetables and a avocado purée. The fresh bread was really good, some sort of wheat rye bread that was dense and filing. The menu for lunch and dinner also looked great, and our server was very friendly. She asked where we were from, and got really excited that my wife grew up in San Francisco. She said that she was a big Jack London fan, and wanted to see where he was from. I hope she gets to go one day!

That said, we had a gorgeous yet really disappointing pancake order here that just wasn't acceptable at all. The pancakes were thick, premade and tasted more like crumpets topped with fruit than pancakes, but what was inexcusable was that the pancakes themselves came out cold and hard. How does that even happen? On the other side of things, the expresso drinks were adequate, the egg dishes were enjoyable, the orange juice was fresh squeezed and the brown bread and butter that comes out (complementary) with breakfast is wonderful. If you do opt to come here, head to egg dishes, their bread and expresso, and away from their not good pancakes.) (Wish they would discontinue or replace the pancakes here. These hard, heavy, cold pancakes bring their morning meal average down a level, considering the other dishes here are a-okay.)

Our hotel was very close to the restaurant and we literally stumbled upon it (when quite hungry after a long travel day) and it quickly became one of my top five dining experiences ever! We visited Prague during the Christmas market season so the restaurant was glowing with holiday spirit. The staff was amazing and the food impeccable. I am still dreaming about this meal. The menu changes frequently but on this cold winter evening, we enjoyed the warm mushroom bisque, a grilled seafood dish with pasta, and the duck breast with gratin potatoes. I have never ordered duck before (other than confit on a salad) and this was "off the charts" delicious! Such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend them if you ever make it to this beautiful city!

I guess I was just confused by the menu and expected something else. I also got a couple fresh pressed juices to-go for the next morning and they were delicious! I would definitely give this place another shot next time I'm in Prague!

Café Louvre - Prague ( 8 to 23.30 )…read more We visited Café Louvre on a Saturday around noon, and although the line was long, it moved surprisingly fast. The staff is clearly very well organized and efficient. Service was quick, attentive, and professional. The waiters were elegantly dressed, which added to the classic, old-world charm of the place. We also got lucky and were seated by the window, which made the experience even more special. The food was absolutely outstanding -- truly one of those meals that makes every cell in your body feel happy. Everything was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and comforting, yet refined. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in doing things right. Yes, it's popular and a bit touristy -- but for a very good reason. Café Louvre lives up to its reputation, combining history, atmosphere, and excellent food with smooth, professional service. We highly recommend checking this place out when visiting Prague. The selection of pastries was nice and enticing. I went for the Savoy cake, which was surprisingly light and not too sweet. I thought the marzipan would overwhelmingly cloy the taste, but it just helped the cake out. The raspberry lemonade wasn't really much home to write about. It was hot outside, so I opted for a cold drink. Maybe next time I'll get a tea/coffee. Service was prompt and efficient, but not super warm. However, I wasn't looking for the latter, so I was fine with that type of service.
