As a new customer here, I arrived Friday Jan 21 per the VA recommendation. Have not had an eye exam in almost 3 years.
My first impression was a sense of harmony among the staff. That's a rarity, but I noticed it within minutes after arriving. It sure put me at ease.
Dr. Bowers is also a veteran, so we shared some stories while he examined my eyes with a click here and a click there - "Is this better...or...that?" Went smoothly, too.
Next, I go see Tiffany to talk about frames. She asked simple questions that led me step-by-step to addressing my needs. She was well-versed in what needed to be done and she did it with efficiency. When she had the wish-list of what sort of frames I would be interested in, she got up from the table, went over the section of the walls where human-less frames awaited their new owners and within seconds she grabbed about 10 frames - about 5 frames per hand - and lay them down on the table in front of me. No one had ever done that before! In most eye stores of the past, I had to stand gawking in front of several wall sections of frames.
Gawking. That has always been the part of those visits I did not enjoy. In fact, that's probably why I hold on to frames for so many years - even if they're out of style. Anyway, I examined those frames on the table for about 5-10 minutes, asked the same stupid questions I have asked in the past, and came to the conclusion which one I considered to be right for me at this time.
That's it, folks!
There are a lot of eye stores out yonder, but what differentiates them is THE PEOPLE WHO WORK INSIDE.
At Granbury Eyecare there is harmony, patience, and an efficiency that seems to happen naturally.
Hell yeah, I'm going back! Maybe next time the masks will only be history, then I'll get to see the faces of the staff, too. read more
