YaYa was our server and she was phenomenal, friendly and funny. She brought my husband some birria meat to taste. He will probably get that the next time. I forgot how good the food was. The Laredo Special of cheese enchiladas was delicious and good portion for me. The chips, salsa, rice and refried beans were delicious. I'm picky when it comes to these items so I was pleased. I will say the menu didn't show the drink options so the waiter informed me as best as he could in English the Aqua Fresca options and I was pleased to hear they have horchata. It was wonderful! I would have bumped it to a 5 if only they didn't take my plate away when I went to the restroom for 5 minutes and came back to a clean table. I was alone and I know I was mostly done but I still had my sides to finish. I hadn't paid for my meal yet so he apologized and brought my check. They're really sweet but very quick with cleaning their tables.

The pupusas give Mexican Gordita basically just two corn tortillas with filling put together. We ordered revuelta and you would think we would have ordered frijol con queso. All the food was delicious. I ordered a chicken tamale that they forgot to put in the bag and was in my car to leave when the lady at the counter ran out to give it to me. I really appreciated that as it was a super cold day. The fried corn tamale was delicious. The cream it came with was soooo good. I loved how soft chicken tamale was. My favorite pupusa was actually the loroco which is a flower. The only thing I wished was that there was a little more filling in the pupusas for the pork beans and cheese one. Would return.

My wife and I just want good quality and value with some sincere & kind service; that's all. Nothing fancy and special treatment necessary, just good old fashioned hospitality and good food. We believe we have found it this Sunday afternoon! We found them on the reviews and it looked promising so we decided to give them a try. The moment we walked in, we could tell Taco El Patron was different. The restaurant was bright, clean and very inviting with their tastefully decorated walls to their comfortable seating & table arrangement. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress named Ashley and she and Veronica made us feel at home from the time we let them know it was our first visit to the time we left feeling high satisfied by the awesome food and first-class service. The menu was simple but gave diners many different ways to customize their food - that was a big deal to us. The chips and chicharron were delightful with their amazing bottles of superb salsas! My wife went with the asada (steak) and I couldn't decide so I asked Ashley to bring me ALL six of the selections from the special tacos section and that's what she did with a giggle saying no one has ordered all them, so they even took a photo of that massive plate of tacos and all the tasty sides! I felt like I hit the taco lottery when the platter came out and because the service was just as amazing and outstanding as the food. I had a wonderful time trying each one of the expertly crafted tacos and was so impressed with each and every bite. The prices are fair & reasonable and that's honestly a bonus since it's hard to find value for your hard earned money these days. My wife and I felt like our money was well spent and our patronage was very much appreciated. With that being said, you and your family should not waste anymore time with other trendy restaurants (you know who they are) and come to Tacos El Patron where you will hit the taco lottery like I did with amazing generous homemade style food served by a staff that treats you like family. Great Job, Ashley, Veronica and the entire kitchen crew at our new favorite taco restaurant! Check them out and tell them David & Amy sent you.

That said, the service was pretty cool and fast. I sat at the bar and was taken care of right away. I ended up ordering the Alex Botana which is boiled shrimp in a red sauce with lime juice and potatoes... not a fan and the shrimp was not clean. The restaurant itself is vibrant and full of color, with plenty of room and multiple TVs--great for watching sports and just chilling. Overall, solid vibe and service, but missing grilled oysters was a letdown for me.

The soup that comes on the side of the fried avocados isn't my favorite though. When ordering ribs if you don't want them towards the burnt side, let them know because apparently their customer base likes them "crispy". Their homemade tortillas used to be super good but now they're just ok. Which I think is a pattern with a lot of Tex mex joints. We've never had issues with service. They refill our drinks and chips and salsa. I would say pricing is less than pappasitos but higher than some other Tex mex places. They have the bar area and the main dining area, the bar area smells kind of musty sometimes so we prefer the main dining area.

This was the most DISGUSTING and UNACCEPTABLE thing we have ever dealt with while eating out. To start, I wanted to give this place another chance after giving it a couple years break. About two years ago, there were small roaches on the walls. We did not come back for a few years after that. Today was the first time giving it another chance and of course were not only disappointed but felt the need to let others know how disgusting this place operates. We live nearby and of all the nearby Mexican food establishments, this one is known to have a better menu, BUT AT WHAT COST? I started by ordering a queso for our chips and I had a Paloma. The drink was good and queso was also. Unfortunately, this place will forever loose our business. Go at your own risk, knowing the establishment has a history of small roaches and NASTY kitchen handlers. This is yet another dump in the area. I wish there were good options in this area. This was absolute atrocious.
