It is a dilapidated building without even an accessible ladies restroom. The residents of Goldsboro deserve better from their public parks and recreation department. While the department offers numerous creative programs for all ages and ability levels at affordable prices, the indoor facility needs a major over-haul. Outdoor amenities from playgrounds to open spaces are wonderful. I look forward to when the Herman Park Center is replaced. Greater things are sure to come!

Such a beautiful day. They had what seemed like new equipment and also some older stuff. The park was shaded well and I can see why people enjoy going here. I didn't see a bathroom out there which can be downside when you have small children. The parking was great. They had a overflow parking lot for busier days at the park. The park seemed to be well kept. There were workers out there cutting grass etc. The park was also situated near a local neighborhood which is really convenient for them. I can highly recommend the salads, which are generously sized and always very fresh. Breakfast is good, with light fluffy pancakes and tasty breakfast meats. Sandwiches are good here also, as are the wings and burgers. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the owner of the country club makes occasional appearances to check on customers. We always feel right at home here, even though we're not club members. My family and I live only half a mile from here, so we visit at least once a week.

No issue with that here. The person at the counter chuckled and said aside from a twosome that was in the parking lot, there was no one out there and no other tee times for the entire day. The course is a mixed bag. #1 couldn't be played in its proper form as the sprinklers were in full force all over the tee boxes. I sort of made my own modified tee area and went from there. #15 had a "modified" green. The actual green is OOO and they have kind of a half-assed cut "green" with flag and cup in what would be the fairway. No bueno There is some water on a few of the back nine holes, not much in terms of sand, a ton of trees and houses that are close but not that bad on most of the holes. Between tee boxes, fairways and greens I would grade them C, B and C-. Some of the tees are decent, and others are mostly chewed up or just straight up sandy. The fairways are in good shape and no joke, there were more guys out mowing then there were people playing. The greens are.....not a lot of break in them but too many are more black then green and they are definitely on the faster side of fast. This place resembles, somewhat in a good way and somewhat not in a good way, the course over at Minnesott Beach. A lot of the same issues there are the same as the issues here and in each case, I would be hesitant to play either place at full price. For a cheap hacker this is good enough. If you take things seriously or are expecting true upscale country club conditions, you're going to leave shaking your head.

The park has a fenced playground with modern equipment that appears in great condition. I like that there is a small fence to limit access and keep the little ones from possibly wandering off. There is also a picnic shelter with picnic tables though no grill. The main attraction here is the walking track that was in good use today with at least a dozen folks doing laps. It alternates days going clockwise and counter-clockwise so that the walking is perhaps a little fresher and less boring. There is a playground area on the other side of the park. Apparently parents at the park don't want some rando guy with no kids playing on the playground equipment. At least that is what the police officer told me. I think the kids were just pissed because I was wining at "king of the mountain". Park is located in downtown and is next to the Neuse river. Parking is free in the area. It's a nice little park and I give it a solid 4 stars.

I feel as a golf course owner you should know that regular pace of play is 4 hours. But i guess money can't buy common sense Duff.
