The process of building a custom home can easily seem overwhelming. That is, of course, if you don't hire the right builder and builder team. When my wife and I searched for the right builder to construct our dream home we were very lucky to have been referred to Grainda Builders. We had met with a couple of other builders, but in the end, it was the Grainda team with the best process and plan for our needs. Our new house was to be our first custom build, and our forever dream home. From the very beginning Grainda surrounded us with the right professionals. Grainda introduced us to Ashley Jimenez owner of Ashley J Design, and together we collaborated to create the perfect custom floor plan. Jason Tanenbaum was assigned to our build and served as the onsite construction manager. Jason was such an integral part of the process we looked forward to seeing him daily. Jay Fesperman also from Grainda would be onsite when Jason could not. Jay often performed work himself even though he was also a construction manager. Grainda also introduced us to interior designer Kari Molnar who was a tremendous help picking out finishes and overall conceptual design. Grainda had someone on our job site almost every day making sure things happened as they should. In the end, our new custom home turned out to be very special and exceeded our expectations. As we were moving in, Grainda Builders made sure that every single item on our punch list was addressed immediately. Joe Grainda personally made sure that we were happy with everything. Even today, months after moving in, Julia Grainda (Joe's daughter) remains in contact with us making us feel as if we were more than just a client. Thank you, Grainda Builders! read more

As a commercial real estate developer, I've worked with general contractors of every size on projects ranging from small renovations to large-scale commercial developments. Unfortunately, my experience has been that many residential builders can be difficult to work with, often struggling with scheduling, communication, and quality control. Grainda Buildings was the complete opposite. From the very beginning, they were professional, organized, transparent, and delivered exactly what they promised. Their scheduling was exceptional, they kept us informed throughout the entire process, and the quality of craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. Every member of their team took pride in their work, and it showed in every detail of our home. Building a custom home can be stressful, but Grainda Buildings made the experience enjoyable. They were responsive, solution-oriented, and always focused on doing things the right way rather than simply taking the easiest path. Given my professional background, I have very high standards when it comes to construction, and Grainda Buildings exceeded them. I can honestly say they are one of the best contractors I've ever worked with--commercial or residential. I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a builder who delivers exceptional quality, integrity, and an outstanding customer experience. read more

We recently completed our 4th major home renovation in our 30 years of home ownership, and our experience with Grainda was by far the best. The planning/design process was detailed, creative and met the combination of budget/design goals...while allowing for appropriate flexibility as the project progressed. The defining advantage of working with Grainda compared to contractors we've worked with in Winston-Salem and the Lake area was the people and professionalism. When you can consider your contractor friend at the end of a re-model, it says a lot about the quality of the work and the manner it was completed. Delays and challenges will arise in the process, but it's how those obstacles are met that make a builder great! read more

I was brought into a project during the early construction phase of a luxury modern home and thoroughly enjoyed working alongside the Grainda team. From start to finish, they were professional, responsive, organized, and truly collaborative. Their communication was clear and consistent, they stayed on schedule, and they were flexible and solution-oriented when new ideas or refinements were introduced to elevate the design. That level of adaptability is invaluable during a custom build. The entire team, and trades, were respectful, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering a high-quality result. I genuinely appreciated the partnership and look forward working on our future projects together. read more
