Food good, but when you undercook and make a mistake; it shouldn't be up to me to tell you how to…read morerectify it, plus you could go above and beyond and take the "fix" to the next level, to impress the customer, not just take her suggested repair and lump with it: still, the fixed pieces plus the overall the meal was quite tasty. The meal was good, the maître d was good but please don't upswell - it's tacky, don't ask "wine or beer with that?". Not everyone drinks and I don't want to be up sold, classy places let you advise your choices. Table service perfunctory to say the least. Pointing fingers at you to "stop you" when you ask them kindly for service, swanning past you and barely making eye contact and having to interrupt them, giving blunt answers. As I got up to leave, the lady behind the counter saw me from across the room and pointed to the til and looked away. I told the waiter with glasses, braces and a lisp that I wasn't comfortable with that level of service. He smirked and pointed me to the eftpos machine. I asked if he had heard me, and he said "I heard you and now I'm pointing you to the money". I said "no, you don't just point someone to payment, you humanise them". The boy with glasses, braces and a lisp took up a chant "I'm pointing you to the money, I am pointing you to the money". I spoke to the women behind the bar who looked at me in a defensive way, and I had to ask her to step aside so we could speak. I told her I was uncomfortable with the level of service and simply pointing a customer to payment, rather than treating them like a human, equal to all other customers. She seemed receptive but I got nothing other than smiling, no words. Such a backward and arrogant attitude from this place The maître d was good

Second time back and unfortunately the service was lacking…read more On arrival we had an expected wait time of 30min so we grabbed a drink out the back while we waited. Long story short we waited close to 50min for a table and saw another group given a table after a 5-10min wait . . . . Further throughout the night it was apparent that the staff just weren't communicating with each other. As for the food this was still amazing and will probably draw me back again! Just hope the service is better next time.

This is a 2 in one review for the El Maco chicken wrap and the large Milo Shake…read more The El Maco Wrap. A respectable 3.7/5. High quality chicken and neat cheese, saved the item from failing and gave it a pass. Light hearted and special in the background, wet and moist in the background, but in a positive way. Alot of little things added up and helped the wrap, a pleasant wrap that was more interesting than it was excellent. Unique. The Milo Shake. A marginally passable 3.3/5. Respectable power however, A drink that was too thick and blunt for its own good. Alot to take in. Very much in your face. They gave it a hundred percent on this drink, it's in its own niche, it's overpowered and some people will like it and some people won't. It's not a qaility thing it's just based on your personal taste, so it falls into a 50 50 area. Nonetheless I reinstate that I felt like it was marginally passable. 3.3 out of 5 isn't too bad. Nice work from Mcdonalds today

I became such a frequent regular shortly after they opened, because the place was always empty but the food was so amazing. I loved supporting their business and watching the place explode with popularity when locals soon realised what was in their neighbourhood. This is truly simple and delicious thai food - one of my absolute favourites in Melbourne.

I really liked this place. It is very big and open - and also busy even on a rainy Thursday night…read more It is obviously the place to go with a girlfriend as most tables seemed to be for two girls having big catch ups. I was no exception! So a nice wine list - I had a lovely Pinot Gris and there was a good cocktail list. Food wise we started with their sharing plate which was delicious. The guacamole was outstanding. I am very picky on the guacamole front so this is big coming from me! Then we had the salad without any protein which was also delicious - black beans, quinoa, roasted corn and lots more guacamole. And then the chicken quesadillas which were a bit of a sensation. A lot of quesadillas are light on the filling - these guys were heavy on it and that paid off. Delicious, fast friendly service and a reasonable bill - I highly recommend!

I've long been a fan of the Fonda restaurants and from their humbled cramped-space days in Richmond…read morethey have since gotten big, bright, fun new spots like Glenferrie Rd, Hawthorn. Fonda is easy casual dining, perfect for groups and catch ups when you want something tasty without spending a fortune. No it's not authentic Mexican, but few places in Melbourne are! This is their modern take and all of it's pretty damn good and a million times better than a certain Tex-Mex chain that plagued Melbourne with popularity in the 90s. No sloppy beans and rice dishes here. Just fresh-tasting tacos, burritos, quesadillas and salads. The menu changes up every so often, but my current favs are the pork quesadillas and beef burrito. They salads are really decent for a lunch option too - yummy and filling. The atmosphere is mostly couples and young groups, but we did have a 4 year old in our dining party on last visit and they took good care of her. The staff were really accommodating and also offered a plain chicken-and-cheese quesadilla to avoid any tears over spicy food. I wouldn't suggest coming here with a whole hoard of children, but for the most part it's both adult and family friendly. All orders are taken at the counter, be it take away or dine-in. Getting a seat can be a little tricky in peak times as it's a walk-in restaurant unless you're booking for a large group. But the style of ordering makes it fairly fast turn over. They'd probably make a lot more money on booze if they did table service, but I guess it moves people through faster too. I find the cocktails a bit pricy, but the aqua frescas are larger, delicious, and can have booze added to them if you so desire. All in all a great easy spot to catch up with friends without any fuss. Good for: groups, casual dining, older kids, burrito cravings.

Here's the thing, I've been to a few Korean places around…read moreMelbourne but I've never really been very impressed with the chicken, it's always been too dry, too bland, or in one case, undercooked. The chicken at Da Rin is fantastic; I'd struggle to think how I'd improve it - it's boneless, tender, and deep fried. And everything's better deep fried. They also have a good selection of your standard Korean dishes - dumplings, beef, pork, and other items I haven't tried yet, but the place is called Korean Fried Chicken. Order the chicken.

I ordered The Greek Burger and chips and tomato sauce for our takeaway movie night…read more Ive always been drawn to both greek culture and especially greek food, so I had a good feeling about this from the get go. It was obvious I was making the safest choice for my personal taste. I havnt got a bad word to say about the overall experience. It was fantastic. The tzatziki sauce complemented the burger very well. There was the right amount of lamb meat. It was ideal, beuitifully made. Im more of a wrap guy then a burger guy so the fact that I was so impressed by this Greek burger shows how good it was. The chips and sauce were also very nice as well. A good side snack on after the main. The chips were the exact type that I like I did not have the onion rings, my friend did. 4 stars. Definetly worth giving a go. They have so much to choose from on the menu, its hard not to find something that appeals to you. High qaulity food.
