And the most delicious hot flat bread you can find anywhere: they have their own tandoor oven. Your bread is baked while they charcoal your lamb skewers. It's crisp on the outside. Cut into quarters and served in a basket. Your mouth will love the taste of the pillows of soft warm bread. And the complex mix of afghan spiced lamb (or chicken) skewers. Having spent 18 months in India I've eaten plenty of Indian food, this is not the best but its really authentic. If you like unfussy South Indian food this is the place. The style of the restaurant is really basic, you come here to eat! The prices reflect this, I can't remember what I paid, not much more than ten bucks all in. We shared and I tried the thali, the idli, the masala dosa, all of them are exactly to standard, tasty and satisfying. The ladies working here are friendly in a polite warm way. They came over and checked the food wasn't too spicy for the young teenage boys I had in tow, it wasnt which made them really happy! Such a sweet place, no frills and no pocket damage! Didn't want to risk going out and they don't do room service here....what to do.... Found this place on the net that said they deliver...GREAT!!! So only ordered a Sandwich (to be safe). They said delivery would be around 3:10pm. Well....got here 15 mins late. Not a great start! The lady delivered my order to my room, and gave me a free can of drink to apologise for the lateness....Getting better! Then I ate the steak sandwich. BRILLIANT!! Generous servings of everything on it! Egg, beetroot, lettuce etc etc. All cooked perfectly. I'm here for 3 days. Think I'll order there again!
