When I picked up the vehicle, the passenger-side exhaust/muffler was broken off and the vehicle was significantly louder after driver said he had issues unloading. The repair shop indicated the vehicle arrived in this condition. When I contacted the tow truck driver and company to request insurance information so the damage could be documented, the driver denied responsibility, became confrontational, and ultimately refused to provide insurance details when requested by saying "do what you need to do bud" and hanging up on me as the responsible party under the "duty of care". A follow-up email to the company requesting insurance information went unanswered for over two weeks. Additionally, I noted a significant drop in fuel level between the time the vehicle was picked up and when it was returned, despite the shop not operating the vehicle for any meaningful duration. The vehicle took over an hour to tow 2 miles, while the driver said he would be longer since he needed to get gas. No explanation was provided when this was raised via my email with insurance request. I understand vehicles can have pre-existing issues, but the lack of communication, refusal to provide insurance information, and unprofessional handling of concerns is what I find most troubling. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere when needing a tow.
