I first came in back in April 2012 as hesitant because I was honestly scared of intimidating work outs, will I look like a fool, and will I fall over for not being able to do the work outs. I loved the friendly staff and owners that I met on my first day in! They greeted me with open arms and helped me realized my health goals and what I need to achieve these goals. The workouts are GREAT! Every week is a different routine and they throw finishers too at the end of every workout. If you can't do a certain circuit due to injuries, they also offer modifications and work with you. They've now added BOXING!! Boxing is now my favorite part! Great cardio workout, help build stamina, and build self confidence too. The trainers & staff are great!! They're a fun, outgoing, and respectful group of individuals who push you to strive harder. I've lost more than 20lbs and counting! I'm more confident in myself, feel great, my asthma hasn't been a nuisance, and the trainers have also helped me find ways to ease my plantar faciitis. My goal is to fit nicely (and not bulging) in my new size 8 clothes, and maybe even get into a size 6...but it's not just about the sizes, it's leading a healthy lifestyle and enjoying my workouts at ABP. I hate to move at the end of the year after I get married back to California...I wish I can take ABP & the great staff with me! I need to hit the lotto so that can encourage them to come out hahaha!

But the exercise equipment (which I pass by on the way to the pool) is comprehensive. A tell-tale sign: there aren't a bunch of "out of order" signs like there are at other gyms I've been to in the past. The last fitness center I joined was Anytime Fitness. Because you never had to have any contact with the employees. My previous experiences had all been at places where all employees talked about was upselling you. And if you weren't upbuying, they wouldn't give you the time of day. This LA Fitness center is as customer-friendly as any business (not just gym) I've ever been to. Everyone I've talked to has been cheerful and helpful. Like old friends. They ask if I need any help or advice, but I feel zero pressure. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. The pool is a joke. They do not reserve a lane for swimmers and aqua fit takes over during the only hours available to working individuals. It's disgusting here. Someone please help. The front desk staff is always welcoming, smiling, and genuinely enjoys talking with members. I also love all of the updates and am really glad I stuck it out through the renovations. The third floor and dedicated stretching space have been fantastic additions, and the new recovery area with the massage chairs (where the old kids' section used to be) is beautifully done. I really appreciate that Chuze is focusing on overall health and recovery, not just lifting weights. My only small suggestion is about the landmine attachment being moved into the Lift Lab. It would be great to have a second one available on the main floor as well. Other than that, I think Chuze has done an excellent job transforming the gym, and I'm excited to see what they continue to add.
