So, we called for an estimate, they came right over and were able to then schedule the job in about 2 weeks. They did a good job cutting the limbs we'd agreed on and showed up ontime. The machinery was an interesting thing to watch. One thing I wasn't keen on was we were told they would clean up the debris from the roof, which they did but much of the needles and such got pushed off onto the backyard. Luckily we hadn't gotten back there with the mulcher yet but this is going to add to our seasonal cleanup. Also, we had just added some sod in front and were trying to grow the rest of the front yard so all the spots fill in, there is a few gouges in the grass now and was flattened. Hopefully those areas come back. All in all a good experience.

Extremely Disappointed With Finch's Tree Service…read more Several months ago, I had Finch's Tree Service come out and give me an estimate. I told them I would contact them when we were ready to move forward. Despite that, I received calls and texts 2-3 times a week, many of them while I was at work. I eventually had to tell them to stop contacting me and that I would call them when I was ready. When we finally got everything in order and contacted them, they scheduled the job about three weeks out, which was fine. I took 8 hours of vacation to be home for the appointment. About an hour before they were scheduled to arrive, they called and said they had an emergency and needed to reschedule. I understood that emergencies happen, but instead of rescheduling for the next day or even the following week, they pushed the appointment another month out. I wasn't happy about it, but I agreed. The new appointment was scheduled for August 13 from 2-5 PM. On August 12, I called the office to confirm. After checking, the gentleman confirmed that we were on the schedule and that someone would be there between 2-5 PM. On August 13, I waited until around 4 PM and, with no one showing up, called the office again. The same gentleman confirmed that we were indeed scheduled for 2-5 PM. I explained that it was already 4 PM and no one had arrived. He assured me they would be there by 5 PM and said they would call if anything changed. 5 PM came and went. No one showed up. No one called. No explanation. At this point, this isn't just a scheduling mistake--it's a complete lack of communication and respect for a customer's time. I made arrangements twice, lost 8 hours of vacation time, waited patiently through a month-long rescheduling, personally confirmed the appointment, and still couldn't get anyone to show up or even make a phone call. Unfortunately, we've also heard from friends who recently experienced a very similar situation with Finch's. They have since hired another company to do their tree work. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Finch's Tree Service. I understand that emergencies and scheduling issues happen, but communication and simply showing up when you've confirmed an appointment should be the bare minimum in any business.

Extremely Disappointing Experience - Proceed With Caution…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make an informed decision before hiring this company. I hired this contractor to perform selective land clearing, grading, driveway setup, and installation of a gravel RV pad on my property. Unfortunately, the work performed fell far below what was represented and what a competent professional should deliver. Instead of leaving a usable surface, the operator cut approximately 1.5 to 2 feet into the soil, exposing loose sand and leaving the area essentially inaccessible where it had previously been drivable. Vehicles now sink into the surface where the ground was previously stable. The work also left unfinished areas and multiple debris piles that were expected to be mulched or otherwise properly handled as part of the clearing process. Because of the condition the property was left in, I have since had to obtain quotes from other contractors to repair and complete the work. The cost to correct these issues is significant and should not have been necessary had the work been performed properly in the first place. Equally concerning was the lack of professionalism when attempting to resolve the situation. When the issues were brought to Michael's attention, he initially stated that bringing a mulcher to properly complete the job would cost an additional $5,000, saying the correct machine was required to do the job properly. The price then changed to $2,000, and later he stated he would bring the correct equipment at no additional charge to fix the work. In total, he worked approximately 4 hours on the first day and about 2 hours the following day. The original quote for the clearing was $3,000, and I had already paid a $4,000 deposit. After the second day, he demanded an additional $2,000 payment before bringing the equipment necessary to correct the work, despite previously stating he would complete the job properly without additional cost. When I declined to provide additional payment beyond what had already been paid for the original quoted work, he packed up and left the job unfinished, leaving the property in worse condition than before the project began. He also left trash on my land. Attempts to recover any portion of the funds paid as a deposit have gone unanswered. This experience has resulted in unnecessary additional expense and significant delays to my project. The property has been left largely inaccessible without expensive repairs. Based on my experience, I strongly encourage anyone considering hiring this company to perform thorough due diligence, ask detailed questions about equipment and methods, and make sure all expectations and scope of work are clearly documented in writing. I hope sharing my experience helps others avoid the situation I am now having to correct.

Being that I live out of…read morestate I provided the physical location of the property (at least 4 times) and gave permission to go to the property for the quote. After about a week and not hearing anything, I sent a message on their website requesting a quote. A quote was never given nor did this company visit my property to provide a quote. I was only provided with an hourly rate. I informed Steve, one of the owners that I would be visiting the area and wanted to know if the land could be cleared while I was visiting. Steve stated that was not a problem. I called him when I came down and set up a time to meet at the property. I had to call him when he did not show up at the appointment time. When he did finally show, he informed me he recently had back surgery and he would not be doing the work himself but had someone else he could put on the machine. Steve informed me that a bulldozer was needed and he needed to check on availability. Steve stated he would give me a call within an hour about the bulldozer. I never received a call back and needless to say my property was not cleared. I am not sure how a company can thrive being this unreliable. I would have provided a zero star rating but that was not available. The date of this interaction was August 2024.
