McCall's was only a small bit off the beaten path. The entrance was just a little confusing, and we messed up by making a u-turn instead of a left turn into the drive thru. As we were there, the place did fill up a little, which was nice to see. Don't expect much in the way of atmosphere with this place, it is set up in an old truck stop diner, and it looks like they kept the tables and booths that were already there, not sure though. Now, the food was ok to good, but would have been better, I believe, if it hadn't sat in the window for several minutes (close to 10 mins is not an exaggeration) while we waited for the last part of our order to be complete, resulting in a lukewarm at best plate being presented. The food had good flavor ( a tad heavy on the onion in my opinion, the salsa was spot on!), I just wish it was delivered hot. And no, I did not bring up the issue, as I honestly didn't want to wait for it to be microwaved or reheated. I'll go back for another try, I mean the food was good enough to overlook some of the shortcomings, for now. On another note, this was something that kinda pushed me towards a "less than stellar" review, was the fact that they charge a 4% fee for use of a debit/credit card to pay. In fairness, this is in fact noted on the check when you get it, but really, who looks at that info at the bottom of check? I know that small scale businesses have to pinch every penny just to stay open sometimes, and 4% can total out to a big number over time, so I can understand it. Again, this kinda bugged me personally, that and the fact that the "suggested" tip amounts are based on the +4% amount, not the actual ordered total. Pee soaked TP on the floor. One stall with no light. Baby change table dirty / broken. Turns out, they were completely out of soft drinks - really!!? No one said a word as people were trying to order on kiosks. Just let them stand there and get frustrated. I sit at a table with the kids and use a Clorox wipe from my pocketbook to clean the table - which looked like it hadn't been wiped down all day. He gets the food... my fish was WAY overcooked- pretty much burned. And it was cold, as were the fries. My husband's Qtr Dlx was ice cold too. He took his back as it was inedible. They apologized and gave him another, but it was barely lukewarm. He ate it anyway. I had a bite or two of the fish, but threw most of it - and the fries away... in the overflowing garbage. One kid's nuggets were burned and ice cold, the other's cheeseburger was lukewarm. This is 100% the worst McDonalds I have ever been in. If this is the best you can do - shut the doors and stop ripping people off. $28.12 for pure garbage. Ridiculous. Disgusting. I'm honestly disappointed in myself that I didn't march up and demand a full refund! No way we should've even tried to eat that crap - or feed it to our grandkids.
