I started taking all 5 of my kids, and slowly over the years my older kids graduated, so they didn't need to test anymore...I'm down to 3 now, and potentially 1 next year. My kids don't take tests, so you'd think it would be stressful for them, but Kristen puts them at ease, and makes sure they're comfortable and doing well the entire time. They always test really high, I know that's a combo of their ability and excitement about learning, and the fact that it's a very nice and personal environment to test in. We love everyone at CLC, it's like going back in time to a school/tutoring center where the kids are smiling, the teachers and tutors truly love the students, and it's exactly how it should be when learning as a kid. It's beautiful!! We are so grateful to CLC for their help with testing and sending the letters to the state so we can continue to do homeschool!!! I highly recommend CLC for tutoring, or if you want the homeschool atmosphere but aren't able to homeschool, this is a great place to send your kids!!!!

I have waited all summer to write this because I wanted it to be as un-emotional & succinct as possible. My kids attended 2 years of Montessori here. They loved the teachers but left for summer with very little support for the upcoming school year. Granted, one year was complex with COVID but there is no excuse to conduct a teaching environment if you're not following the Montessori method and actually teaching. I feel so sad for the teachers. They all mean well & love their students. However this place has had multiple admins turnover in a matter of 2 years, and teachers came & went just as easily. Unfortunately this was evident when multiple parents came together towards the end of the year and realized their kids (8-10) year olds still could not read at their grade level. This same group of parents spent their summer paying alternative schools (Kumon is who I hired) to supplement everything these kids had missed. Mind you, my son was complex and has not done well in any school due to a minor disability, however this wasn't just my son who required remedial tutoring & this review isn't solely based on my son's issues. They weren't proactive in helping me with educational resources , I had to get a 504 plan from a local elementary school, which he didn't even attend but they were willing to take me through the process. Along with charging a ridiculous amount of monthly tuition, they also had so many extra days off throughout the year...then charged extra for those care days if you were a working parent! I'm not talking holidays and 2 teacher work days. I'm talking once every month or two for no apparent reason, it was not on schedule with public schools many days they took off. They didn't pro rate, instead they charge you to "care" for, not teach your kids on those days off . the last month of school, also didn't prorate so you pay a month, get 21 days & then they charge you extra to help care for your kid the rest of the month! They also increased their tuition intermittently, I was paying approximately $1400+ per child. I'm telling you, this place will charge you & then send your kids home with subpar education to succeed thereafter. I am forever weary of Montessori going forward & have opted for charter.

The majority of the teachers are unprofessional and the principal does not have the leadership skills to identify or correct the problem. My child is in the 6th grade and several children have been inappropriately touched by other students and experienced racially related bullying as well. When parents spoke up, the staff retaliated against the students by taking away most of their privileges and cancelling all school events. Police have been present on the campus twice this year. My child, who has always been an A student, came home crying because his teacher led him to believe he is an F student. When I met with his teachers and principal, I found her story to lack any evidence and my son brought home all A's a few weeks later. I truly believe that the teacher was just being nasty. The principal and assistant supported this behavior from the teacher. I'm also shocked at the lack of education level of the faculty. There are very few times when there aren't spelling or grammar errors in what they distribute. My son has brought home reading materials with a set of questions for him to answer that didn't match the material. For the sake of the children in the Palm Harbor community that could benefit from a good private school, I hope there is a change in staff. This is not an inexpensive school by any means, I would not recommend considering this school at all.

(I mean who else is going to read this review?)…read more You're probably checking Yelp because you're getting ready to decide where to send your little one for daycare/preschool/VPK. It's stressful, isn't it!? My son was in an in home daycare I loved from 12 weeks old but as he approached 4, I knew I was going to be faced with a very difficult decision. Where do I send him next? He has a September birthday so I wanted him to go to someplace I could count on for VPK eventually. But I also needed to feel confident in their leadership, the curriculum, and the facility itself. We toured many places and met with several directors but nothing felt "right" other than Ohana. Here are our reasons! 1. Location. For us, this is close to our house so my son doesn't spend an hour in the car each day. 2. Cost. Their tuition is very reasonable for the area! 3. Staff. Kara, the director, is super chill, has a masters degree, and just leaves you with the feeling that your kid will be in good hands. She was great during the tours and answered all of our questions. My son's teacher is also great. Ms. Amber is communicative, positive, loving, and helpful. 4. Curriculum. They provided me the info on their curriculum so I could do my own research. This was helpful as we chose between preschool because I knew what to expect educationally. 5. Facility. The preschool is CLEAN and cute! (I mean who doesn't love turtles!?) 6. Reasonable expectations. They are realistic about what to expect from kids behaviorally and developmentally. They don't call you for every little thing. They don't send your kid home because he sneezed twice. They get the woes of a working parent. 7. The extras. They have a provider come in to teach soccer (at an extra cost), they do school pictures, they do class birthday parties, they encourage parental involvement (reasonably), they have special theme days. They keep it fun! 8. 2 months in my son is SO HAPPY. He asks to go everyday. Even on days they're closed he wants to go to school. He loves his teacher. He's made friends. He's learning quickly. Many of the schools i toured previously were very wishy washy with their procedures and policies. I wanted a place that felt like home, had a respectable kind staff, but had clear expectations and guidelines for my son's safety and care. I toured school with a long check list of questions and all of my concerns were addressed professionally. My son (17m) has been attending since he was 10 weeks old. As a first time mom everything was overwhelming and frightening to start. The whole staff was so helpful and welcoming to start. Bianca and her team made this very difficult transition seem very smooth. I remember on our first day she invited me to call the classroom as many times as I needed. I did my best to focus on my work and trust they had him. She was kind enough to call me. Just to check in and give me an update knowing this was a big day for both of us. She said he needed test scores so they could see what he needed to work in...perfect. My son just took both SAT/ACT so he called his school counselor and got his scores which he sent to Terri. She called my son back and told him he still needed to take their tests and that his score was very low. My son gave me the phone where Terri proceeded to tell me that anyone got an 800 on an SAT by writing their name on it to which I interrupted her to let her know that his recent score was a 200 point improvement and my son was excited he had improved but knew he needed a better score. She rattled off about having 25 years experience and said "I didn't know someone could score so low". I let her know that surely someone with 25 years experience would know that a test could come in that low and that we would not be requiring her services. My son is a bad test taker, he has anxiety he knows he has a lot of work to do, but this women had the warmth of Auschwitz, maybe she'd be better suited with scheduling tests for the DMV.

Tutoring from Huntington Learning Center was *the* key to getting my daughter through middle and high school. The owner, Terri Davis, is warm and supportive. I have had many meetings with her over the years, both by phone and in person. Terri knows her stuff. The staff is great, too. There is a formula to success and Huntington knows what it is.
