It took us a long time to find something he really enjoyed but that still gave him the physcial activity he needed. I know the Lord led us right here, specifically to Rodgers TA. Prior to our decision to sign up with RTA, we had visited with the leader of another academy close by wherein she explained that their school was doing away with forms (katas) and why. We didn't understand til we had a conversation with Mr. Rodgers and went to the first trial class just how important those katas are. So we are super thankful we chose RTA. Every teacher is helpful and thorough and patient and encouraging. There is never shame if a move is forgotten or tried and not done right. There is no pressure to get everything right as fast as you can. They want to make sure you are confident prior to testing. A testament to Mr. Rodgers' ability, teaching method, and stellar results with seriously amazing martial artists is the number of students he has had for over 10 and even 20 years!!! They are faithful because he is faithful - to the art, and to them. Another testament is the number of parents who end up signing up themselves when they see their kids excelling. Mr. Rodgers' skill and dedication are equal. He and this school are a blessing to say the least, and I highly recommend it for adults and kids alike.

5/5 - An Unmatched Boxing Experience with Coach Ricky Ray Taylor!…read more I signed up for eight sessions with Ricky Ray Taylor after my wife gifted me a punching bag for Christmas--I wanted to put it to good use while getting in shape. Little did I know, this would turn into a full-blown passion for boxing! Thanks to Ricky's coaching, I've since hung a bag in my garage and even added a mirror for shadowboxing. Let me tell you--there's fit, and then there's boxing fit. Boxing is one of the most challenging workouts I've ever experienced, and Ricky pushes you to your absolute limits. His expertise is undeniable; he knows exactly how to motivate you while enforcing discipline and proper technique. Every session leaves me exhausted but hungry for more. What sets Ricky apart is his ability to tailor training to your potential while giving you plenty to work on outside of sessions. Even on days I'm not training with him, I have drills and exercises to keep improving. If you want an absolute ass-kicking, want to be humbled, or just have a passing interest in boxing, Ricky is the coach for you. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, he'll teach you something new. I can't recommend Ricky enough--if you're on the fence, at least try one session. You won't regret it! 10/10, best coach I've ever worked with
