Her manner was cold, no beside manner. She didn't listen. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

Professional, courteous and timely. The Nurse practitioner explained everything to my satisfaction.read more

I was wrong, i had to fill out the forms over again for some reason. By the time I finished filling out the additional paperwork it was about 9:30. I was seen at 10:45. During the course of my wait the receptionist and physician were sitting there just talking to each other on how much PTO they have and on how they are clocking in even though they're salaried employees. This conversation was taking place while I was waiting to be seen. I went up and asked how much longer and the receptionist told me that the Dr was in the middle of seeing another patient and refused to ask how much longer even as i explained that i was in a rush to get my child's document for an upcoming emergency trip i was taking because my gpa was in the hospital. The receptionist didn't care and didn't bother asking how much longer and explain the situation. I went back to waiting and my child's pediatrician called me back when they finally took me. They took so long to see me i was forced to be on the call with my child's pediatrician while being seen and they had the nerve to be impatient and snappy with me because I was on the phone. I wasn't treated with any empathy or understand, i was just given an excuse on how they were short staffed. Yet they still had 15 mins to talk about pto and clocking in for their shift while testing a patient and another one waiting to be seen. I would never recommend this location and will never come back.

This place is a joke! How can you make a person wait 6 months for an appointment? I called as I…read moreneed a yearly check up and I just moved back to the area, six month wait. When I said no way, yes that is how far we are booked, there are tons of doctors on staff, this is so unacceptable. Penn Med should be ashamed. I bet if I said I'll pay cash they'd see me tomorrow. I will call around and see who I can find that really wants to treat patients. I won't go there for anything. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This review is about the management of the office and NOT the doctors. My Penn Med is supposed to…read moreallow you to make appointments online. However, with only three doctors in the practice, it is always impossible to get an appointment that does not take more then a week. This location needs MORE family medicine/internal medicine physicians. I am also annoyed when I call to make an appointment and the scheduler assumes I am willing to see a nurse. No, my insurance co-pay is the same if I see a nurse or the doctor, so I want to see a doctor. While everyone I have encountered is always pleasant, there does not seem to be any sense of urgency for anything. It takes forever to receive a response for a phone call which is why I insist on speaking with someone when I call. While I do like the doctors at this practice, they either need to stop taking new patients or hire more physicians!

I started with Dr. Nigam Patel to treat my osteoporosis and found that I could not understand what…read morehe was saying since he talks very fast and with a heavy accent. I had asked him to speak a littler slower so that I could understand what he was saying. He recommended that I take Alendronate 70 mg tablets weekly. I was on the generic brand of Fosamax approximately a year and half when I started to have groin and shoulder joint pain. I thought I had arthristis in those areas but it did not show up on the x-ray through Rothman. I was sent to PT for therapy and it wasn't until then that I discovered maybe there is something else going on because PT helped in a minimal way. I went to Dr. Patel to inform him of my joint pain and said that it could be the Alendronate because it states joint pain as a side effect. He was adamant that it was not the drug. I asked him how long was I on this drug and he said a year and half. I asked how long will I be on it, and he held up five fingers and said five years. I felt hopeless because he didn't even say let's proceed with some blood work to rule out other conditions. I left his office, looked up another rheumatologist with outstanding reviews and a woman, mind you. I made an appointment with her, gave her my information, and she said right away to stop the Alendronate. She said that it causes joint pain and other side effects. She ordered blood work to rule out autoimmune disorders. My blood showed a clean bill of health. I did stop the drug but I have to wait until it is out of my body which may take months. I cannot swim, play golf, or use weights above my head and sleeping is unbearable. I am suffering and have been taking Motrin along with Tylenol. I walk five days a week for five miles with friends and do my PT exercises based on my condition. I am typing this to let other individuals know that they should stay clear of Dr. Patel. He should have shown compassion and help me in my time of need. He brushed me off. Well, I'm brushing him off and have dropped his services. I am now pledging allegiance to my new doctor who is so compassionate that she couldn't understand how he kept me on this drug that is still causing me pain. I am not on any medication at the age of 67. I am in good health and in fact more of an athlete. This has been debilitating for me. I suggest you seek out someone else to help you in your time of need because this doctor lacks experience, compassion, etc. Good luck!

I got there at 8:05. At 8:35, the nurse came out and informed us that the doctor was running 10 to 15 minutes late. I told her I could not stay and she asked if I wanted to reschedule and I said no I would go to another doctor. If I can get myself up an hour early, stop at the office to get my x-rays and get to my appointment 10 minutes early, the doctor should be able to get there on time. His time is not more important than mine. I do not recommend making an appointment with this doctor, as he has no consideration for his patient. however, I would like to say that the staff was very, very nice and very competent
