I was offered an ablation after an ultrasound showing large fibroids and extra large uterus (caused by the fibroids). Nothing was discussed about these alarming findings. The only issue addressed was to reduce my monthly bleeding and clots by having an ablation or taking birth control pills. *Which would not offer the intended solution bc of the large fibroids (7cm). These doctors are a joke. I am so glad I looked elsewhere - it would have been a futile endeavor at my expense and recovery. And for them - what?? saying, my bad!? No thanks. This "christian" facility might do great for delivering babies, but they care nothing about the uterus when it no longer produces said babies. Avoid. read more

The doctors and staff at Grace are the absolute best of the best. They legitimately care for their patients and provide the best care possible. Dr. Cobb and his nurse Jackie have even called me the day after a procedure to check on me. I have four children, all delivered by the doctors at Grace, as well as a lumpectomy before kids. I was so unhappy with Doctor Pestoff at this facility. I went twice and each time her "manner" was dismissive and cold. I had surgery in her office and it went well but they "demanded" I have someone sit there the whole time I was in surgery and since I just moved here I lack the friend factor to comply. The Doctor at first understood and then, as I said, demanded I have someone stay. I was upset after hunting down a driver to drive and pick me up... I was very upset at their nearly cancelling the surgery over this. I landed up having a friend who was recently injured and on pain meds stay the course... She fell asleep in the office on pain killers. They could care less about my safe ride home... Only the legal aspect of their rules. I had had a colonoscopy at another Asheville facility and they were completely understanding... Allowing the people to drop me off and pick me up after the procedure. It is difficult for disabled people who are alone to survive in this world. I felt both set against for my status and my lonely situation. After the surgery Doctor Pestoff send a registered letter telling me I will no longer be serviced at their facility. My suggestion to anyone facing life alone, being old or/and poor... Do NOT have Doctor Pestoff as a physician. The facility itself is fine... I do not recommend her if your in need if a little understanding. read more

I've been a patient at Grace since 2014. Dr. Cobb and Dr. Councell have been wonderful in the office and delivery room. They also helped me feel great compassion and dignity as I had two miscarriages in 2016. From receptionist, billing, nurses, and check out, this office is amazing. First of all this is GRACE Ob/Gyn. They are Christian doctors. I'm not sure how anyone could be referred to them without knowing that. They make it clear what their beliefs are on their website. Now, I have been a patient off and on as our insurance changed over the past 17 years. I have 6 children. My pregnancies were high risk and 2 of my babies were delivered via C-section by Dr. Jackson. This office is the most caring office I have ever delivered with. MAHEC treats you like a number and you never see the same doctor twice. This office is the opposite. They know your name and your spouse's name. They always put the patient first. I have never dealt with a single person from billing to nurses to medical staff that wasn't respectful and kind. I cannot say enough positive and wonderful things about this office. Most importantly, these doctors are highly respected and have a a vast amount of experience in obstetrics especially high-risk pregnancies. I owe 2 healthy little girls to this office and can't thank them enough for all they have done for our family. read more

Wonderful prenatal care by the doctors and nurses at Grace. I felt confident that I was in good hands for my entire pregnancy. One of the things that surprised me was the trauma sensitive care they provided- I've never experienced a practice that takes trauma into account while providing OB/GYN services and it made all the difference. read more

We called the office to make sure that they were LGBT friendly and were assured that they were. When we met with the doctor he basically told us that he didn't help "our kind" of situation and told us to go elsewhere. He did do a physical exam but said he didn't know what else to do to help us because he didn't deal with our kind of issue. Look, I've been a nurse for 16 years and almost finished with FNP school. I'm not stupid and I think he didn't realize I knew that "our situation" is very similar to to any other heterosexual relationship. He just didn't WANT to help us. And that's fine but be honest, especially if you're a Christian man. read more

I've been going to Grace for 18 years- first seeing Dr. Nickish (sp) who has moved and now seeing Dr. Cobb. So happy with the level of care and personal interaction. He's up on a few things in my life and asks me about them- he's busy, but not too busy to ask how things are at home and with work. He's thorough and makes a plan that's best for you and your particular needs. It can be difficult to get an appointment, so book in advance. read more

This office is not LGBT friendly. I was referred here by my LGBT friendly primary care doctor. I expect to be treated the same as anyone else at ANY medical facility however I can assure you my partner and I were both treated quite poorly. Unless this is how they treat all their patients. This practice is extremely rude. I had an appointment with them during the terrible snow storm we had in February 2015 and kept trying to call their office for hours to see if they would open. I could never get through to voicemail or a live person, I just kept getting a fast-busy all day. They also did not post on their website if they would be open or not so I had no way of knowing if they would open. I live 45 miles from their office so I could not make it to the appointment anyway but I wanted to let them know that. Well, I found our later that they opened at 1:00 that day and since my appointment was at 1:30, they considered me a no-show. They didn't bother to call me or take into consideration that most of the area was shut down. Since I was deemed a no-show, they sent me a certified letter dismissing me as their patient. In the letter, they said "This letter is to inform you we will no longer attempt to contact you in order to provide medical care" We can no longer be responsible for the consequences if you choose no to continue medical care as recommended". They even had the typo "no" where "not" should have been. This is the most unprofessional and rude medical group I have ever used and will never recommend them. In fact, I will urge people not to use them. read more

I have seen Dr. Cobb once and he was amazing. Such a nice man and I did not feel judged in the slightest, and although I don't feel that my personal beliefs are ones that align with their practice as a whole, I would still recommend Dr. Cobb. On the other hand, I've seen Dr. Pestoff multiple times and have left almost every time feeling so discouraged. I have never felt that she was truly listening to me, and even after expressing my concerns, she was dismissive and short - it was like she couldn't wait for me to leave so she could move to the next patient. If you're looking for prenatal care, Dr. Pestoff is probably great, but if you're just looking for general gynecology, I wouldn't recommend her. Shortly after finding a new OBGYN, I was diagnosed with a condition that I had expressed concern about potentially having to Dr. Pestoff (who dismisses my concerns), and I can only imagine how much better I would've felt if she'd listened to my worries and I had had my symptoms managed sooner. read more

I'm a patient of Dr. Cobb, and I've also seen Dr. Councell. Both doctors are highly knowledgable and experienced- but the best part about them is that they actually really care about their patients. They were both totally non-judgmental and kind- which is what you want in an ob/gyn, or any doctor, really. I'm sure that they treat each of their patients with compassion and respect- that's how they treated me, and I'm not a Southerner or born-again or anything. I would recommend this practice to non-Christian friends in a heartbeat, because I would be confident they would be treated very well and receive excellent medical care. Additionally, unlike other practices, it is fairly easy to get an appointment with a doctor. Nurse practitioners are truly great, but sometimes you really want the opinion of a doctor. And I have both used insurance and paid out of pocket, and the billing office has been easy to deal with. They also have an in-house lab that will give 50% discount for self-pay if you pay up front. This is a great practice. I hope these doctors never retire! read more

If I could give no stars, I would. I was in preterm labor at 19.5 weeks and called the answering service so they could page the on call physician. He NEVER called back. I went to the ER and delivered my stillborn son by myself on an ER gurney. The OB doc didn't even come to examine me until an hour after my son was born and just said "sorry about that". You will feel no compassion from this practice. No one cares about you as an individual and just seems to rush around getting visits over as soon as possible. You will also wait at least 30 minutes past your scheduled time. They have never been on time for my OB appointments. Go elsewhere for quality care. read more

Terrible experience. I decided to go to Grace OBGYN as I now have insurance through my job and no longer needed to go to my previous OBGYN since I had medicaid. It was nothing like I expected, to say the least! Everyone seemed to be in a rush. I feel like they didn't care about me at all. They didn't ask me how I was feeling, or even talk with me at all before they examined me. They were not gentle. They were not friendly. They didn't even smile. Also when I tried to tell them I haven't been feeling well they didn't even acknowledge what I was saying and rushed out of the room. I usually do not make reviews or talk bad about a place but this place just takes the cake. I especially do not care for the Lisa, the head nurse. She is extremely rude! I prefer my old doctor over Grace OBGYN, and that says A LOT!!! words cannot explain how disappointed I am!!! I will not be going back and do not recommend to anyone at all! read more
