It took only 15 minutes and we had a nice conversation the entire time. The stitch is nothing to talk about. It's perfectly done. I feel fine just getting it done this morning. The review was topped with a one star and left me with a sense of where do I go from here. Today, the sun shines a bit brighter. I had a conversation with the practice administrator. This interaction lead me to gain a better understanding of what may or may not have lead to my frustration. AUA recently underwent a big change. Staff and physicians are attempting to learn the new systems while also trying to provide patient care. Unfortunately, it seems that I was caught up into the perfect storm. The administrator was polite and sincere. I feel my concerns were heard and that things will be moving forward. I'm hopeful that future me will revise the rating to give AUA 5 stars.

It appears that this clinic is unorganized, rushed, overworked. I initially saw Dr. Kerfoot for a…read moretime-limited testicle infection and pain, which appeared to go away. He scheduled a follow up ultrasound and visit several months later. When I returned several months later as advised, the problem had returned as well. Dr. Kerfoot was very rushed, asked few questions, performed the briefest of exams, and then unsympathetically and nonchalantly concluded that I had interstitial cystitis (a painful, chronic and often life-altering diagnosis) and wanted to confirm it with an invasive, expensive procedure (water distention of the bladder under general anesthesia!) I decided to get a second opinion prior to undergoing this procedure, and I went to a urologist in Greer who did a more thorough workup evaluating the prostate and kidneys and trying medications first. Fortunately, the problem resolved after several months on its own. Never hesitate to request a second opinion, particularly if you have been given a hasty diagnosis and especially given the current healthcare climate, where financial compensation is the greatest for doing procedures.

My time is valuable to me and I appreciate that they don't waste time. He told me in my face "Your pain is NOT coming from your kidney stone and you need to seek alternative causes". Fast forward 3 months= In more severe pain and a visit to the wonderful SRMC where I was treated properly for my kidney stone. I had developed a severe kidney infection due to Cargills neglect and dismissive behavior. I was given Flomax, antibiotics, and passed my stone in 2 days. And my pain completely subsided. A note to Cargill- kidney stones cause severe pain!!
