This is an overdue review. I saw Dr. Raphael during the pandemic. She was my first naturopathic…read moredoctor and the first doctor I had seen completely virtually. She took detailed information and concerns of mine. She was able to put in bloodwork I needed to the lab but I was able to take her recommended lab work to have my doctor put it in so that some of the lab work would be covered by insurance. The lab work is much more extensive than the basic lab work your traditional doctor does for you. Her lab work was able to have her give you recommendations on supplements and diet. The lab work is an eye opener to seeing how unbalanced my body was. Just before having the vaccine, she instructed me on what tinctures to take prior to having the vaccine so that wouldn't have any or mild side effects. The first two vaccines I took the tinctures and I barely had any symptoms. When the booster came out and I completely forgot about taking the tinctures, I had a headache and was tired for two days. I won't forget to take this going forward now. If you're looking for a naturopathic doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Kizzy Raphael where ever you are located. She does a wonderful job working with patients virtually. Her attention to detail and her eagerness to want to resolve your health issues makes her a vital part of your wellbeing.

Dr. Kizzy has helped me obtain a quality of life I didn't think was possible. I had lost faith in…read moretraditional doctors, having been told countless times from more doctors than I can remember that "I'm fine". I'd been through Kaiser, PAMF, Sutter Health; nobody would listen and nobody would help. I felt so hopeless, defeated and truly sick. I was experiencing debilitating fatigue, excruciating pain in my tailbone, extreme nausea, issues with overactive bladder, blood in my stool, a swollen abdomen, weight that I couldn't lose no matter what I tried ...the list goes on. Every day was a struggle and every day I felt so unwell, and there was no explanation. The nausea has been affecting me for over 30 years. The final straw that pushed me to find help outside of what my insurance would cover, was testing positive for colon cancer at 46. I didn't really have the money to seek alternative care, but feeling like I was on the brink of death motivated me to reprioritize my life and figure it out. I found Dr. Kizzy out of sheer desperation. I chose her because of the reviews I read. I could write pages and pages about how wonderful she is, but to summarize, I feel amazing! I don't have colon cancer. I was completely misdiagnosed by Kaiser. They kept running the same tests over and over. They refused to deviate and expand the parameters of their testing even though I wasn't getting better. They told me my ailments were all in my head. Dr. Kizzy was able to determine I had SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth), H.pylori (very common, from food poisoning) and that my adrenal gland function was extremely low. I've been a patient of Dr. Kizzy for a little over a year now and for the first time in my entire life, I'm ok. I will be forever grateful for her help! She actually listened and cared. · Debilitating Fatigue - Dr. Kizzy treated my adrenal gland function, and I have so much energy now! · Excruciating Tailbone Pain - It was from chronic stress, which led to pressure and muscle tension in my pelvic floor muscles. She recommended an amazing therapist (Taryn Weinkam, PhD) who helped me release the trauma I've been holding onto for so many years. My pain is gone! · Overactive Bladder - It was my body's response to being in a constant state of "fight or flight". The therapy helped with this as well, it's no longer an issue. · Extreme Nausea - It was from H.pylori. Nausea is one of the main symptoms. If Kaiser or Sutter had run a simple test, this could have been diagnosed decades ago. My nausea is completely gone. · Swollen Abdomen & Bloody Stool - Both of these were from SIBO and both are no longer present. · Excess Weight - SIBO contributed to this, but so did the feeling of hopelessness. I credit both Dr. Kizzy and therapy. Our bodies react to our mental state. I've dropped 30 lbs and fit back into clothes I never thought I'd be able to wear again. There is really something to that whole "mind, body, spirit" thing. I highly recommend Dr. Kizzy!

She knowledgeably answers my questions and even offered a specialty pharmacy that I didn't know about so that I could continue getting one of my brand medications at a cheaper price. It's never hard to get an appointment because their office is run smoothly. (I should also mention that I'm a remote patient that did my homework to find Dr. Kim, and I live 5 hours away from her.) Her assistant, Yenifer, gives 110% to help Dr. Kim keep things flowing. Their team (including their office manager, Pam) helped me work through a medication insurance denial that they even escalated to an external review for me. If you're an endocrinology patient who has been through a denial before, you know how difficult this process can be! Yenifer kept me posted and quickly got any new information from Dr. Kim so that she could get me back on my medication as soon as possible. I am forever grateful to the CDE team. Besides that, if I ever have questions, I've been able to reach out to them through email which is super helpful for me when I'm working (I'm a nurse myself.) It's really nice to find an efficient, friendly provider who is also an expert in their field and team that you feel really cares about you. That's what I have found with CDE!

She treated a bad flu (not COVID), a serious sinus infection, and an IT band failure. All this happened when it was difficult to get into the clinic and actually see a doctor. Dr. Huie was not my primary care physician, but she guided me all the way through those medical issues. Then, she turned to my medical record to update a swelling on my throat (nine years earlier) and an AFib diagnosis (six years earlier). After running some tests, she referred me to an endocrinologist and a cardiologist. I had thyroid cancer and clots had formed in my heart. Those referrals led to surgeries, and I am now healed. When I thought I was finished seeing Dr. Huie so frequently, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer in the ER. I sent her an email to let her know and she made an appointment with a nephrologist for me right away. After surgery to remove a Stage-3 tumor and my left kidney, Dr. Huie booked an appointment for me with an oncologist during my recovery. If you haven't guessed it by now... it's clear Dr. Huie was totally committed to getting me the best treatment possible. Dr. Huie is thorough, and she sincerely cares for her patients. I saw her earlier this week and she helped me put together some questions for my oncologist and a future treatment plan. I will not be melodramatic and suggest Dr. Huie saved my life, but it is absolutely true that she has improved the quality of my life and has added years to it. It's not all business. When I visit her at the clinic, we will talk about my family and she updates me about what her two boys are doing. I mentioned earlier in this review that Dr. Huie was not my primary care physician... she is now. I am blessed to have her watching over me.

I would give 4 stars to the care and 1 star to the service. Yes, even medical offices should be…read morerated on service. I have only visited once so far and maybe I will change my review as time goes on. The NP I saw (Carol) was fine and totally in tune with me. No complaints. The girl behind the desk was rude to me when I walked in. I was a new patient, and she bitched at me for not having received any test results or records from my OB. She said things like, "Your file is empty - I have NOTHING to put in it." But she was just so angry at me for the fact that the other office didn't fax it. Isn't that pretty common between doctor's office these days? And easily solved? Now, I had had surgery that week and was barely on my feet yet for this appointment. My husband had my insurance card because had handled admissions at the hospital and we stupidly hadn't gotten it back in my wallet. I know being a new patient they need my card; I explained I didn't have it but I had my daughter's card which is the same number, and that I'd bring my card next time. I could see her blood pressure rising. "It HAS to be your card or you cannot be seen." I asked if my husband could fax a copy of the card and she relented. Her attitude was that I was scamming them. Then after the fax did appear and lo and behold, I was not some lowlife trying to get free diabetic advice, she had to ask me for my daughter's card because one of the numbers was a little jumbled. Gee, now it works just fine. To top it off, my appointment was at 11:15 am. I expect a little waiting at doctor's offices, but I was trapped in that tiny, hot little waiting room (which has no magazines, by the by) until 12:20. Over an hour! I'm pregnant, that's past my lunch time, I'm on insulin - frankly, that's unacceptable and to the point where I was getting dangerously low on fuel. I went up to the receptionist to tell them I just had to go eat or I was going to be in trouble, and miraculously they said it was time for me to go in the exam room...where I waited 15 minutes more. So pack snacks, diabetics. Update, 6/4/08: I have a high-risk pregnancy and I have been a patient at this clinic for 6 weeks and I have yet to see an actual endocrinologist, only the nurse practitioner. At my last appointment (with the NP again) there were 5 people ahead of me when I walked in, and the guy sitting next to me told me his appointment was for 9:30 - mine was for 11! I told them I wasn't waiting 2 hours and rescheduled the appointment. I'm docking a star. They have some serious traffic issues in this office.

Check in: they make you call from your car because of COVID 19. No big deal right? Well I called when I arrived 15 minutes prior as requested. I then proceeded to sit in my car for 45 minutes with no contact or communication from them. I finally called them again and waited another 10 minutes after that before I was called. Actual Appointment: went in and they did a standard check in. When the doctor finally came in almost 45 minutes late, she first sat 6 ft away from me and asked why I came in. She then proceeded to cut me off and tell me I needed to fix my mask on my face. Please note that my mask was on all the way, but because I had a homemade sewn mask, it did not stuck perfectly to my face to create a full seal around my cheek and nose area. So after spending some time adjust my mask to her liking, she then finally came close enough to me to actually do an exam. I went in for an ear issue so she checked my ears first. When I told her I felt congestion in my ears, she said well normally I would check your throat and nose but I don't want to do that because of COVID. Now I'm confused. I went to see an ENT and she doesn't want to check me nose and throat. I understand the risk of COVID, but she is a doctor and I'm here for an appointment after jumping through several hoops to prove I am not sick and waiting a long time in my car! We are now about 15 minutes in to the appointment. She can't see anything in my ears so she says "go next door and get an audiology test". She tells me I should take allergy meds. I told her I've done that. She then offers to inject me with a steroid. I said no thanks. I don't think just taking a look in my ear and telling me "I don't see what's wrong" warrants the offer of a steroid injection. She gives me a card to the lady next door for a hearing test and tell me I can promptly leave out the other door. No bill, no follow up, just go get a hearing test. Here's where it gets great. My bill comes in $230!!!! For what exactly? I'm not sure. Poor bedside manner, being late, mask shaming me and not doing a SINGLE THING to help my symptoms. She didn't even bother to give me a full exam. If your comfortable going to a doctor who is too afraid to properly practice her trade and then over charge you then this is your lady. Otherwise, I would recommend doing a better job vetting an ENT than I did. Bottom Line: she seemed more afraid of me than willing to help me. She was late, tactless about the mask and seemed more interested in getting me out of there as quickly as possible than anything else. If I had been given a bill on the spot, I would have fought it. I guess we all live and learn.
