This is the worst cab company ever. When they tell you they will be 30 minutes believe me it will be atleast an hour.

Had a white mini van with grab a ride mark on the side of their van, almost hit me when we made a turn onto Halfway blvd. Called for a ride. Waited over an hour then called to cancel and they said they had waited out front and blew the horn. I was waiting at my job, out front, and everyone that came and parked was a customer. Unsure why they felt the need to lie and have an attitude when they could have just owned up the fact that they A) Didn't send a cab at all or B) Went to the wrong location. Reliable Hagerstown cab service. Like anywhere else, schedule your ride at least an hour ahead of time or more than likely you'll have some wait time, especially during peak traveling hours. This is probably the least expensive cab service of several the area. Always my first option if I need a ride. read more

Grab-a-Ride in Hagerstown is somewhat apathetic because they have a monopoly on service - there are no cabs and a public transportation system is nonexistent and only serves certain areas. I have missed church, had to cancel doctor's appointments, and other inconveniences because this company really does not value customer service at all. They do have a few decent drivers which I will commend them for, but by what I understand they also have a revolving door so they don't keep good people long. Also, the payment system for fares - they need to upgrade to the 21st century and accept credit and debit cards - that would be extremely helpful. It is high time we got more traditional cab companies in Hagerstown and give Grab-a-Ride some real competition. read more

This was my first experience using a cab system, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Overall, the ride there and back were fine. They picked me up in the green grab-a-ride car. It was alright. The vehicles were little old but I wasn't expecting anything special. I got picked up in a different vehicle than I had on the way back. This one was a regular gray minivan. This was okay with me, but it had no markers that it was a cab. I kind of just guessed because in pulled in front of the walkway. They probably got a different vehicle because I was using a cane and they assumed it would be easier for me to get in the minivan. The drivers are pretty nice, but I would note that they don't ask for a name. I found that weird. I also can't remember if the drivers gave me their names. read more

Rose the dispatcher was nothing but rude and tried to over talk me the entire time then when I asked to speak with the owner and asked her name and his name and she asked why said well you will have to call back later and hung up. Someone on the street called Grab a Ride and asked to be picked up in front of St. Mary Catholic School. OK, that's fine...I get that, as there is public sidewalk in front of our school. However, the driver that came parked directly in front of the school office door and blasted the horn several times over the course of 3 - 4 minutes. I am the administrative assistant of the school, and was treated to this lovely shrill horn blast as I was trying to do work. When I went out to see what was going on, the driver argued with me, saying that someone from the school must have called a cab because she was sent here. (That's great logic!) I asked her if she had a name of the customer, and she did not have one. She was very rude and even asked me if one of the students called a cab as a joke. I said no, this is a Pre-K to 8th grade school, and our students may not have phones on them during the school day. I asked her to please stop blaring the horn, as this is a school and it is very disruptive to staff and students. She then called the dispatcher and let me listen in as he told her the fare was waiting in front of the school, and she rudely said, "This lady told me I can't sit outside here and beep the horn." (Thanks, passive-aggressive cab driver woman!) Then she asked me to look around to see if anyone was waiting outside for a cab. (This is my job how?) Anyway, yes, I did spy a man sitting down/leaning against the corner of our building at the end of the block. I told her about this man, and she rolled up her window and sped away, without so much as an apology or thank you. It seems to me a good business practice to at least take a customer's name down when making a cab reservation. It also seems a good business practice to have your cab drivers exercise common courtesy and manners, but perhaps Grab-a-Ride doesn't believe in those kinds of things. This speaks volumes to me. When customers use private businesses as their points of pickup, it might be a good idea for this illustrious taxi service to check in with the business first to ask whether or not there has been a pick up requested. read more

So not all drivers are equal but I've never had such great taxi service. I usually had the same driver, she was always quick to pick me up and would stop multiple times so I could get all my errands done. The vehicles are vans with plenty of space. They are clean and I love the fact that they don't make you ride with multiple pick ups unless I've been asked first. Great service, cheaper than uber and lyft. I highly recommend them. I wish I could remember the driver's name bc she was super awesome. For example, one time I only had large bills and she was out of change, she wouldn't take my large bill but I insisted, so when she picked me up later that week she gave me the ride free, which equalled the money I gave her but it was nice that felt the need to treat me decent, nowadays ppl take advantage so use this company!! read more

I had a bad experience with one of your drivers tonight in unit #12 about 6:45 near city park coming into town where Virginia Ave breaks down from two lanes into one. The driver tried to force me into the curb then until I made a right turn by the courthouse where I made a right turn the driver rode my bumper with the high beams on. I also want you to know the job I have puts me walking the street in the area around city park and I have seen the same type of van run the stop sign on Summit street last week. This causes a issue with me because my sister was in an accident with a cab in Harrisburg PA and Yellow Cab was out of business there for a few years. Great business but it seems like there'should different rates for different drivers. My daughter was quoted a price a $20 from Merkel to Sheetz at Hewitt's Crossroads when it should have only been $10 so I'm trying to take this up with the owners to resolve this situation who wants their daughter to stand out side in the rain I think it was at 1 a.m. because she didn't have $20 to pay for a $10 ride very disappointed I recommend grab a ride to all my customers who need quick Transportation dependable drivers and save vehicles to ride in but to pick and choose rates is not fair to the General Public Washington County needs to start a service or a policing service that watches over these cab companies like they do in the big cities like New York and California the county would make money the cab drivers might not like it because of the rules that they would have to follow but wouldn't it be nice to know that the back ground check of your driver has been checked buy a legal source read more
