I have to counter the last and only review. I have been dealing with Gourmet Secrets for almost 2 years. I am a very satisfied customer. Their customer service is great and they always respond promptly (Amanda especially). Any product I did not like they refunded me by way of a credit which I was happy with since I purchase from them regularly. This is mostly their prepackaged items which I'm not a fan of most times anyway but thought I'd try them. That said the other couple we bought we liked. I didn't buy for that stuff anyway - I'm looking for items I can't get easily locally or that are a special product available from them in particular. Their products are great - all their bison is awesome, European wieners, gluten free sausages, rack of lamb, tourtiere, salmon caviar, and much more are our favs so far. I even bought their Sashimi and the octopus was awesome - a very large piece so would be better perhaps in smaller portions is my only complaint. Actually that is my one complaint about the salmon caviar too - but if you are having folks over it's the bomb. Talk to them - they will tell you the best way to use your coupons and get the best deal - mine included free S&H which was a super deal. Buying the 8 package deals gets you the very best deal and it's a great amount for your freezer without being too much. Delivery is great - one nice size Styrofoam container on dry ice. I have never had any issues and I have it delivered to my office and then have a good drive home but always still frozen. I find people think they should get something for free - is that an X or Y Gen thing? This is a deal but nothing is free. They are a business trying to drum up business like most offers at Teambuy or Groupon. Take your chances but don't believe all the crap written on the good old inet. I purchased a group on months ago to receive "samplers packs" every 2nd month.. Gourmet secrets service for this was down for about 4 months and wouldn't send us orders. I got told two months ago it is working now and I placed an order with a confirmation number over a month and a half ago AND STILL NO ORDER!! Worst service I've ever had to deal with. So I've been dealing with Gourmet Secrets for over three years now, and I always feel like a sucker for still doing so. Their sausages are great, some of the prepared food is good, but that's about it. If you take the prices they offer, pound for pound they are not competitive with local grocery stores and shops. This last order pretty much put my capacity to deal with bad customer service over the top. I put in the order on the first week of April, and despite having actually spoken to them several times since then and receiving multiple assurances that my order would be delivered, it is June 6 today and I received and email saying instead of delivering it this week, they would deliver it on June 17. One time, about a month ago, Tony called me and then wanted me to give him my order number and customer number etc. As he was the one calling me, I obviously did not have the info at my finger tips...and he hung up. I am fully serious. This supposed "customer service" rep hung up on a customer that has paid for a product and still not received it. Buyer beware. Considering, I asked the depot and I was told there was no package for me. Ad I had stated to your customer service agent many times, am I meant to push past and search there storage area for it??? I was told I would be given a $100 coupon, it showed up a two $50 that can not be used at the same time. Run from this company, not walk. Absolute worst service ever! I purchased a Samplers Club and they didn't send anything for four months and when they did start sending again it took about two months to receive an order. They would not let you order for the months that they did not provide until the end of your term and even then they still do not have the codes so that you can order it now. They are horrible to deal with if you have any problem and don't really care about customer service. When their courier didn't deliver it to my door (as they promise) they told me it was my problem and that they considered it delivered and I needed to go and pick it up, also that they would not re-send if the food was ruined or credit as they thought they completed their part. I am currently waiting for a credit to go through as I will not deal with them anymore but it has already been ten days and I haven't seen the credit still. They are really frustrating and it is definitely not worth the stress of dealing with them! DO NOT USE THEM! read more

I was introduced to gourmet secret "Sampler Club" through Groupon, and thought, "Meh! What the heck, I'll try them out." So bi-monthly I was able to order off their web, any "Sampler" package which also included shipping and handling anywhere in Canada.. Soooo Jan/Feb was beef...arrived in a timely fashion and was good, not great, but definitely good. tasty fillet mignon, and a nice piece of bacon wrapped scallop. the ground beef was a bit grey, but I used it in a chili and had no repercussions! Mar/Apr was a "catch of the day" package which contained a piece of halibut, salmon, talipia and a sample of something else, I forget...blech! The ONLY thing that was not bad was the little piece of salmon. I don't know what they did to the halibut, but it was VERY wet, the same goes for the talipia, so I thought well, I won't order the fish products again. May/June and July/Aug are currently outstanding as they were having issues with their freezers, and they said they would honour those 2 in the new year. I was fine with that...Hey, Sh** Happens. So Sept./Oct was their "Free Range Poultry" pkg. which was okay...contained a piece of turkey as well, but nothing that screams to me that I should run out and get their chicken products. So back to the beef pkg. for Nov/Dec. I ordered it Nov 20th and called them Dec. 23rd as I haven't received the pkg yet, and with Christmas a couple days away, I was concerned the food would arrive between Xmas and New Years. I spoke with Mike, he asked for my client # and also asked how the products were so far. I told him the beef was the only we liked. He was insistent the reason I was not having a great experience was because the portion sizes in the samplers are just that...samples. He was also annoyed that the shipping costs were costing him too much money and wanted to "up-sell" me on his other products. I let him know I was not interested on his other products right now, and was happy being a sampler club client. I asked when I could expect the order from Nov 20th and he said I could expect it the week of Jan 26-30. I asked why so long, when I already waited over a month, that I should need to wait another month! At this point things went nasty. He was extremely annoyed about the s/h charges and said he was losing money, not to mention the price of beef had gone up, and I was costing him money with only being a Sampler Club Client. Then he tried telling me that he would ship the Nov. order, but I had to pay s/h. Ummmm NO...the Groupon Coupon I paid for,... in full,.... a year ago,....included s/h. I told him; his customer service was really sucking. He said if I was a full client, I would get better customer service. I said, "Does that make sense to you?" Okay, so here it is Jan. 29th.... no tracking info. and still no order....HMMMMMMMMM.. I Called again, got ahold of Amanda, she said she had my ordered marked to be shipped Feb 9-13. When asked about the two outstanding orders from Mar/Apr & May/June. She said she'll issue a refund. and will not honour the those two afterall ....Wow...What a company...I wish them well. read more

So I put in my order online for the last voucher I had which had not expired yet. After a week I never heard from them. I called and they said they were behind and that my order would be shipped around jan 9! That would be about 5 weeks after I submitted my order! We did eventually receive the shipment last week as promised. I had to call them back this week again because I never received the refund for the deals they were not able to give deal. They had no explanation or apology. Just took down my credit info again. I asked again about my expired coupon (I had been advised to do this after my last order was completed) and the guy says "will you be buying from us again?" I was advised since I did not intend to buy from them again they would not do anything for me. This was a promotion and it was at a cost to them for the purpose of soliciting new customers. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE costumer service. I will never be ordering from them again. Over a month ago I placed an order for 8 packages and paid 15$ in extra shipping cost to get the food here by a certain date since i was having a dinner party. They called me the day before the dinner party to tell me they were out of 3 of the 8 packages I ordered. I replaced 2 of the 3 but they told me they would ship out the chicken order which i did not want to swap out when the chicken came in. A month has gone by and i still havn't received the chicken. When I called them today they told me they cannot ship out the chicken by itself and i would either have to order another 7 packages or they could refund me. I took the refund although they did not refund me the shipping cost and they took away the 50$ gift card i used since the gift card was only accepted if i ordered 8 packages. Even though it was THEIR FAULT they refused to take responsibility for it and refunded me half of what i actually paid for the chicken. Food is great until you run into a problem ....
