After about a month after placing my review I did hear back from the owner (Kyle). He was very apologetic for the delay in getting back to me. He gave me a couple of options to rectify the situation to my complete satisfaction. This is really the only issue that I have had in over 30 years of shopping there. I have updated my review to 4 stars (because I can't give 4 1/2). The only reason that they did not receive 5 is due to the delay in getting back to me. Do not hesitate shopping at Darcy's. Flat iron steaks here are amazing. Great quality, price, and service. The store is pretty big so plan to spend some time browsing through all their products. Seem like they go through a ton of people especially the university area shop.The st albert shop smells horrible I understand they smoke items in house but still smells like stale unappealing smoke. Owner seems a bit like an arrogant jerk the way he talks to staff if someone has anything negative to day about the shop but that's just my opinion dosent mean much. Nobody cares about the product, the customer, or the business of meat like Darcy's. Forget those pop up franchise Ribeye places who are merely glorified M&M meat markets. Head to Darcys if you intend on getting the best cuts at the best prices minus the staff sass you get elsewhere. They'll treat you like family at Darcy's. read more

Poor quality service, poor quality brisket. The brisket is extremely freezer burned and is missing a large portion of the point. The fat cap is missing a large portion of the fat layer and has a lot of freezer-burned meat exposed. See picture. Don't trust darcys to give you something of quality. They aren't shy about charging a lot though. We won't be going back. read more

We pre ordered a corned beef brisket for St Pattys day. It was really good. Not over salted, well balanced flavors, and very fresh, good quality cut of meat. Customer service was also excellent from start to finish. They carry a lot of specialty meats here, I highly recommend if you are looking for something a extra special that you might not be able to find at the average grocery store. They are pricey but without a doubt, you get what you pay for. read more

I am an absolute sucker for customer service and this place goes above and beyond! I've followed them on social media for a very long time but had never actually gone in... until this last Friday when they advertised a Buy 3 Get 3 promotion on all their sausages. When I got to the store, they explained that this was valid basically on anything with a casing. When I walked in, I was absolutely like a kid in a candy store. I didn't catch anybody's names, but there were two people working. The first lady approached us when we walked in and asked if we needed any help. I told her I was just browsing for now but would probably need help once I finally took everything in. She took a minute to tell us about all the amazing deals in the store and then left us to look around. The second very helpful employee stayed behind the counter but made his presence known in case we needed anything. We did ask them a lot of questions. I was focused mostly on the various turkey sausages. Once I got to the turkey sausage ring, the lady came up and asked if I'd ever tried it. I said no. She said "oh, you have to! I'll cut some up so you can try it". And she actually took it to the back and cut it up so everyone in the store could try it. Very smart because ALL of us bought a ring. I couldn't be happier with the service I received or the quality of the meat I got. And I honestly can't wait to come back! read more

Best customer service ever! Kyle, all the staff actually, are always ready to help in any way. First time in there, we had never barbecued beef ribs before. Not only did Kyle take the time to inform us on the types of cuts, but his preference, as well as how to (in his opinion) properly cook them. He spent a decent amount of time with us, making sure we were fully satisfied and confident in what we were doing. It was a very impressive first experience! And we receive the same great service every time we go in :) Great quality meat as well. My boyfriend can not eat pork from a regular grocery store (huge stomach upset) but he can eat Darcy'y pork no problem! This is a sure testament to good quality, well taken care of, no filler/funny business meat. I purchased some pork ribs the other day. When I opened up the packaging they smelt so bad like fish it smelled up my whole house. I paid a fortune for them as well. Clearly they were very old and should never been sold to me. Very disappointing. read more

After writing my last review D'Arcy's reached out to me to correct the issues that I had experienced. I really appreciated both Kyle and Ryan and their willingness to listen to customer issues and to make things right. When we returned to the store, at Kyle's request, Ryan was there and ready to help. We were given extra stewing beef and a ham on the house to account for the previously mentioned substitution problems and we were offered a full store credit for the cost of the goose that we purchased at Christmas. Ryan also gave us great advice on the types of sausage we should purchase with part of our credit. He was welcoming and enthusiastic. He made us feel like valued customers. They've gone well above and beyond any other business that I've dealt with when it comes to fixing a bad customer experience. We will definitely be doing business with them in the future and you should too. read more
