I like that it's a family owned business and it was Carlos's daughter who gave the estimate and answered my phone call. The only negative is that they left deep divots in the lawn where logs hit the ground, or equipment dug in. It will make mowing a challenge unless I get out with a shovel and rake (and I'm an 80 year old woman!). But I am willing to use them again because their prices are the best, and they're very nice to deal with.

Ultimately, I'd say go with him if you need trees taken down but don't really care if your yard is wrecked. Some details: The trees he took down were huge and one was right on the house. He did a great job taking them down but his guys just dropped the logs on the ground as the cut them off, leaving huge dents in my yard and breaking my irrigation system. To that effect he insisted on coming by to fix the pipe he knew he broke on his own. We were not keen on letting him play handy man with our irrigation system and called a professional to come out. Turns out there were multiple cracks in the line and the cost to fix was double what Carlos had offered us. I feel he may have known this would happen because he came to our house and demanded we pay him before we had time to get the irrigation lines assessed. As for the rest of the yard, between him and the contractor he hired to grind our stumps the lawn was covered in deep tire groves that we had to fill in with dirt and plant new grass seed in. This took us hours because we did it ourselves. To top it off, the stump grinder left huge mounds of shavings that we had to move. Our yard went from a flat level place to a motocross track with all the hills and valleys! Had we not spent hours filling and flattening there would have been no way to run a lawnmower over the grass when if finally grew back. All of this extra work was in place to save about $1500 from the next best quote.

I was very dissatisfied with the sidewalk made for me by Elite Landscaping and Design in High…read moreSprings, Florida so I sought the expertise of a well-known hardscape designer in our area and asked how my sidewalk could be corrected. Hesitantly, he said that the whole sidewalk would have to be taken out and redone. He showed me how the sidewalk would have puddles after rain right where people got out of their car. This gentlemen asked what the landscape was like previously, and I told him it was totally clear and I had 3 loads of top soil brought in and the yard was grated. He pointed out how the sidewalk around the entire house slanted in towards the house, instead of directing water away from the house. He showed me how the sidewalk should have been elevated somewhat so as to hold back mulch from one side of the walk and provide an edge for grass on the other. It was obvious that he was correct on both as mulch was getting mixed in with the gravel, and grass was already creeping on to the sidewalk. He even suggested that pavers that looked like bricks would have been a better choice as it would have provided the extra height that the walkway needed. He put his finger into the gravel and said it would not hold up for even 2 or maybe 3 years. (This was in the front of the house where the fines were not properly tamped down.) And if that wasn't bad enough he showed me how he would have quoted the job and it was 30% of what I paid Elite Landscaping and Design! If you're not sure of Mr. Pucket's work, just read his contract. Every single word slants in his favor and NOTHING is written to provide protection to the customer. The contract even states that they can take back with them any unused materials from the work-site... the materials that YOU just bought and paid for, so they can sell them again!
