This tour was led by a Navajo guide. He shared lots of Navajo history, lore, and culture. We stopped at numerous picturesque points. We went some places the general public can't go. I'd never been here and so appreciate seeing this with a good tour and a great guide. This place is awe-inspiring, and after experiencing this place I understand from whence it gets its title. This was totally worth it.

One of the greatest tours I've taken, Dennis our tour guide was excellent on he kept us informed on life on the reservation and all the sites. We took the evening tour.. He took some of the best shots of me in the tear and I made it into a poster, it's really great. I will be back and I will do another tour for the all day tour.

I booked an all day tour and a sunset tour for the same day and absolutely loved it! Luther was really knowledgeable about the area and generous in showing me around the valley. I highly recommend any one of the tours!

Overall the tour was good but not enough time to take pictures in other areas but the specific stops done by the tour guide. It was great seeing the Navajo area closed to the public and the views were amazing. Great hearing Navajos history however our guide , Leo was little hard to understand for most of us. During winter is really cold, please bring jackets. We did the 2.30 pm tour hoping to see the main sites during sunset but that was not the case. The tour guide was pleasant and willing to take pictures.

A very good and enjoyable tour of Monument Valley with Henry. A beautiful day and gorgeous weather allowed us to experience the amazing scenery. Tour Guide, Henry, was kind, funny, interesting, and clearly dedicated to his work. He takes great pride in his native land and clearly enjoys giving tours. Looking forward to bringing family and friends to Goulding's for a tour next time we visit Monument Valley. Well worth it!

My dream trip disappeared during the COVID lockdown so this was my chance to try to go again. I discovered the legend Don Mose during my research and from that moment on I knew I want to see the Valley through his eyes. I'll discuss that first because until the company fixes this issue, it will lead to the same problem for other as we experienced. Here's the problem: when you book the tour, it tells you to meet the tour guide in the lobby of The View Hotel. On the website before booking, it says "Please meet your guide in the lobby of the View Hotel next to the bronze statue of a cowboy riding a horse." In the email confirmation, it says "Your tour guide will pick you up at the beautiful View Hotel lobby!" Pretty clear, right? We're supposed to meet the tour guide in the lobby. No ambiguity here. We arrived in the lobby a full 15 minutes ahead of our 9:00am pickup - we were warned that the tour would leave precisely on time. 9:00 came and went with no sign of the tour guide or his vehicle. I call the office and get voicemail, but don't leave a message. A minute later I get a text message from their bot inviting me to start a conversation. I explain the problem, and get another automatically-generated response: "Thanks for letting me know! I'll check with our team and get back to you shortly." Over the next 10 minutes I send a couple more clarification messages, and receive no response at all. So we're starting to fret. We have a flight to catch later in the day, so if we miss this tour we won't have an opportunity to rebook. Then after a few minutes, a tour guide from a _different_ company comes in, sees us, and says that the meeting point for tours is outside. We walk out of the hotel lobby, and don't see anything at all, because the tour pickup point is across the parking lot and down a hill, completely out of view from the hotel entrance. We walk down, arriving 10 minutes after the "prompt" departure time, and join our tour. We could have completely missed our tour because of the company's inability to maintain an accurate website. But we lucked out today. The company never called or texted back to provide us with updated instructions about where to meet, and the tour guide didn't attempt to find us either. We are grateful to the guide from the different company who made sure we got on the tour. So, this could easily be a 2-star or worse review for this experience. But the fact of the matter is that the tour was really great once we got started. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and entertaining. He gave us recommendations about where to take pictures and took a couple creative ones for us. He shared Navajo history, mythology, and his own personal experiences growing up in the Navajo nation. We saw some beautiful scenery which left us wanting more.

The location alone makes this place special. That said, the accommodations themselves were not very impressive. The rooms feel very outdated, and the floors are quite dainty. There's also no microwave in the room, which would have been convenient. On a positive note, the side wall insulation was surprisingly good--we couldn't hear a newborn, two young kids, or their parents next door at all but upper floors were paper thin we could hear people walking and slamming balcony door. One unexpected highlight of our stay was a white, fluffy dog that kept coming outside our balcony. I completely fell in love with my furry visitor. When I asked the receptionist, I was told the dog has an owner praying she was right and it was not a stray which was reassuring I think :( --but the night before checkout, it rained heavily, and I couldn't help but worry about my little friend. Thankfully, the next morning when I opened the curtains, the dog was there waiting, as if to say goodbye. That moment truly warmed my heart and wished I could take her home. I hope to see her soon. We also had the best view from our balcony to watch fireworks to welcome the New Year! Overall, we had a great experience because of the views, location, and peaceful atmosphere. However, if management were to reconsider remodeling and updating the rooms, this place could easily be 100% better and match the beauty of its surroundings. The girls in the office are so nice and pleasant! We would stay here again, maybe stay in a cabin next time.

Our guide, Shawn Holiday, was simply the best of the best. His knowledge of history and geology brought the land to life in a way I'll never forget. He didn't just guide us--he immersed us in the experience. From sharing stories and cultural insights to playing the flute in the canyon, every moment felt meaningful and authentic. Shawn also had an incredible eye for photography. He took us to breathtaking locations and helped capture some of the most unforgettable photos our family will ever have. Traveling with my wife and two daughters, I couldn't have asked for a better guide--he was thoughtful, polite, and deeply respectful as he shared Navajo customs and traditions with us. The beauty of this place is beyond words--you truly have to see it to believe it. Being there also gave me a deeper appreciation for the rich history of the Indigenous people who lived in harmony with this land, trading far and wide and honoring nature as one. That spirit is still present, and it's something that deserves respect and recognition. I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced this tour with Shawn. It's something I will carry with me forever. I hope to see continued opportunities and prosperity for the Navajo people in the future--they are the true stewards of this land, and their culture is something the world can learn so much from. If you're considering this tour--don't hesitate. It's unforgettable.

Today we elected to do a guided tour so we could see areas closed unless you have a guide. We were particularly interested in learning more about Navajo Culture. Our guide Amory was great. He interspersed bits and pieces of his own experiences with details of Navajo history and practices. We learned of the days of his youth - herding sheep and goats, as well as tales of how the Navajo people communicate their culture and values to children. He has a great eye for photogenic opportunities and taught us some clever tricks to use with our iPhones. The front of the park, where you can do a self guided tour is phenomenal. You can easily spend four to eight hours taking in the unique geological formations. But, you can't see some of the truly amazing sites deeper in the park unless you hire a guide.
