The campus housing is great for freshmen but that is just to get people in the school. The Fall 2025 housing has been disastrous. Upper class Students received a late night email on a Saturday that they had to move out then next day due to a problem. The students in apartments with kitchens and private bathrooms were being moved into deplorable conditions of a building that was closed last year for mold. The community co-ed bathroom has rat traps set everywhere and the shower stalls have rust on the soap dishes. The rooms smell terrible of mold and are very tiny. read more

This review is not necessarily for the academia at Goucher College, but for the theater production, my students experienced during our most recent field trip. We saw El Otro Oz: A Bilingual Musical at the Mildred Dunnock Theatre. It was thoroughly enjoyable and the actors were truly amazing and professional. The students that went were part of our newcomer program which means they have been in the country just over a year. While many speak Spanish and laughed at much of the dialogue, the students from other countries enjoyed this musical variation of the Wizard of Oz. I know I did! It was spring break for Goucher students, so the campus was quite deserted. The production company that put on the show travels to various locations in Maryland. It took us almost an hour to arrive, but well worth the drive (we had charter buses, so comfort was key). I hope we get to see another show next year. read more

It was alright. Parking is cheap $75 for the year. Academics aren't bad and campus is very pretty not to mention great location. Nice athletic facility and turf. Res life is not great. Public safety is meh. Billing is my worst nightmare and don't get me started on title IV. read more

Goucher College provided our daughter with a first rate education. Strengths were the teachers and small class size. The semester abroad in France was excellent for her. The campus currently has several construction projects currently, but their housing options will improve greatly once finished. Goucher College is a wonderful institution and a wonderful community. The students, faculty, and staff are friendly and engaging. The dining facilities have a variety of food options, especially for Gluten-Free and Vegan students. Study Abroad is required and a great experience! read more

The layout of the college is crap. Whoever designed it wanted no one to come there ever. Tried to visit their art gallery and there is no parking anywhere near it for visitors. So I had to park near the entrance to the school and walk 15 mins to even get to the building. By the way Goucher on their own website won't give you directions to allow you to find their galleries, even when you search specifically for a gallery. Their curator brings in big names. You'd think a few paragraphs could be written in order to bolster their reputation in the larger art community and allow people to visit more often and with ease. Sooooo frustrating.... Will not recommend coming here at all. read more

Hello, people looking for colleges. Out of 20+ friends I made at Goucher, only three stayed long enough to get their degree. There were many instances of hate crimes while I was there from 2015-2016. Security isn't good in the buildings, though the security officers themselves are pretty great. Then, comes the issue with housing. There are issues with mold, rats, mice, and insects of all sorts. Thin walls. DO NOT live in Stimson, cannot stress this enough. The other buildings are no better but at least they don't reek as much. (Can say nothing about new buildings). If you have disabilities I have bad news for you. ACE, the accommodation dept is under funded and though they try their best, get little support from the school. Furthermore, if you have accessability needs, accomodations are hard to come by, many buildings are not accessable. Also definitely not an asthma friendly place. The food is made to look good on visiting days. Outside of that, good luck and buy Pepto. Art and phychology depts were great though! The library is epic. read more

I visited the college my senior year of high school and fell in love with the campus. I loved the trees and woods that surrounded the college because it reminded me of my home in rural Delaware. The staff here is wonderful and so helpful. With bigger universities, the focus on the individual is lost, however, here at Goucher, I feel comfortable asking for help. They care about my well being in and out of the classroom and always make sure to check up on me at various times throughout the semester. When going to college, I was really worried about finding a place that felt like home and finding a place where I fit in. I am glad to say Goucher has truly become a home for me. There are so many people that care about me here and wonderful relationships that I wouldn't have been able to develop if I went to the University of Delaware which was my second choice. I highly recommend visiting Goucher. read more

Attended Goucher for half of a semester before changing career paths. Was told when I withdrew that I did not owe anything. 1 year and 3 months later, I get a letter in the mail saying that I owe $2,500 that is soon being sent to collections. Called four times within 2 weeks and left three messages with no response. Sent one email and got a weak response within a day. Tried calling again to get some clarification and, to my surprise (can you sense the sarcasm), no answer! Two more calls over the next 2 days, including one to the Office of the President so they could transfer me to someone/thing other than a voicemail machine at the billing office, and another message later, I drove 40 minutes to the school to talk to someone in person for a total of 5 minutes (after waiting 10). Thought all was sorted out and I would be on my way to the debt being paid off... wrong! Over $2,100 in payments later and $800 has gone unaccounted for. But hey, maybe the payments just haven't processed, I'll call again. Can you guess what happened? Why, no answer, of course! Billing department is greedy and absolutely impossible to reach in times of need but at least the professors were competent, for the two months I interacted with them. read more

The food at Goucher is incredible, particularly in Mary Fisher Dining Center. The Mongolian grill is awesome, so is the wood fired pizza, just to name a few. I wish I had these dining options when I was in college. read more

This really is a great modern library. There a plenty of computers. Many individual study spaces with chairs, couches, desks, power outlets, and good internet. Friendly staff 7 days a week to help you out with research. And best of all it's open 24/7! Unfortunately there are only 4 or so group study rooms which are occupied most of the time. Overall, this is a great place to study. read more
