It's really not intended for service providers, but rather for small business owners looking to move their business to the next level. It's an intensive 3 month boot camp designed for EXISTING business owners. Meaning, you have to have people on payroll, have your financials prepared for the Admissions Committee to review, and meet certain other criteria before they will consider you for the program. You need to be in business 2 years and have $100K in revenue to be eligible for consideration. According to the executive director, Rod Bourn, they get upwards of 150 applications per year and they select only 40 candidates to participate. The program is one day a week from 8a to 5a for 12 weeks. It's free of charge. **60% female attendees **50% persons of color So it's pretty inclusive. Covering all manner of industries, professions and specialties. Subject matter experts and lots of business coaching and consultation and heavy hitters are at the disposal of these students. Their cohort alumni is deep and their graduate association is strong by virtue of who has passed through the program. I was really impressed. Guess I shouldn't be surprised given sponsors like Goldman Sachs and Hopkins. Toss in Babson College (which apparently has a formidable business program in its own right) and Morgan State and you definitely have funding and backing. Apparently Michael Bloomberg also funds this program to some extent. There was a gentleman there named "Justin" from the previous cohort that's a custom clothier who shared his perspective on what future candidates would have to look forward to. He also revealed that previous cohort to his produced $19.1 million in revenue (yes, the program tracks growth) after graduation. I'm sure they want to make sure they're getting their money's worth in investing. I think there are lots of business owners that could benefit from such a high intensity program as this rather than "winging it" until they figure things out like I see so many do. These are all real world practical tools & methodologies that aren't taught in most business schools or other classroom settings. Glad I attended.

It's hard to judge a college. Each of us is there for different experiences, and you can't blame a…read morecollege for a bad class or teacher. However, I judge CCBC mostly on it's appearance, accessibility, and facilities. When it comes to that, this college barely makes a C-. The buildings, other than a couple of new ones, are like old grade school facilities. They're small, with worn linoleum and tile, and that smell that always made you nervous the first day back to school as a kid. The classrooms are cramped, the desks often broken (and definitely not sized for American adults), and the attempts to hardwire new tech occasionally full of fail. Then there's the roads, with their cracked pavement, potholes, and broken speed bumps. The whole place needs to be repaved and the winding roads (that sometimes lead to dead ends, when they should connect) should be redesigned. Not to mention the parking lots... Oh, let's talk about accessibility. You see, if you're just a student, you'll probably end up parking in the boonies EVERY DAY, walking 1/4 mile just to get into a building. Some genius decided to turn HALF the parking spots (all the ones closest) into Employee Only. Yes, apparently they need just as much staff parking as student parking, although I highly doubt the staff-to-student ratio is even close. You'll spend precious time and gas circling, looking for a single spot to open, and often just giving up and parking on the opposite side of campus. I know I arrive 75 MINUTES before class (and sit in my car), during one of the less busy times, just to be able to park a 200 yard walk from my classroom. I'm only attending because it has some good CE classes for a particular specialty of mine. If there were any other option, I'd definitely choose a more up-to-date, accessible, and enjoyable campus experience.
