The drive was longer than I expected and I got lost trying to find the place, but once I got there I was welcomed with a smile & a remark stating "You got here!" The person didn't even know who I was, but I guess the timing of my arrival and my unfamiliar appearance told her it was me (the one who called when I was running late because I couldn't find the place). Obviously, I was a new patient, so I had all the standard forms to complete. I was there to have some irritating & problematic skin tags on my eyelid removed. Shortly after I finished the forms, I went back to see the doctor. Dr. G. is a very pleasant person with a great bedside manner. An assistant (Laura) came in and gently put her hand on mine while telling me she was there to provide moral support for me. The doctor told me what he was going to do and what he wanted me to do. The communication was very clear and appreciated. There were no surprises! This type of communication was consistent throughout the entire visit, and I was told by Dr. G, Laura, Debbie and the other front counter staff to call with any questions I may have after I leave there. Dr. Gottesfeld is extremely knowledgeable. He's great with younger patients (my teenagers) and takes his time with the appointment. I really feel that he wants the patient to leave with no questions or concerns. As for his staff; I've never dealt with a medical staff as nice and pleasant as they are. Erica seems to be one step ahead of the doctor, and Lisa has that front desk running smooth. outside the actual visit with the doctor, we were in and out in no time. I went in for the first time a few years ago & was satisfied but this time around I went in because I had a really itchy rash on my neck. He told me I could use my old cream from years ago that was for something different. A month later is has spread. I paid a $50 copay to get no help. Really disappointing. read more

I'm not sure why my experience with this doc has been much less desirable than the other reviewers... but my wife and I have used his services maybe 5 times over the last 7 or 8 years. We have been going to him because he is very close to our home... and because we can usually get in that day or the next without waiting. That, and the doc seems like a 'nice guy'... fairly approachable. It used to be that one of the female office staff stayed in the room during examinations. Not sure what that was about but the last time we went things had reverted to a more 'normal' routine where the doc and patient are alone. I have never walked away feeling like things were 'taken cared' of properly. This last time my wife had a noticeable reddened area on her upper back that had been itching her for several months. We had tried using various creams from previous visits to see if they were effective. They weren't. So when we showed the doc the area my wife and I both got the feeling that he seemed challenged to discern that spot from the rest of the skin surface. To us... and even in photos, the spot appears to penetrate deeply into the tissue. We showed him the cream we were using and he said that it was what he would recommend using. I pointed out to him that the cream was more than 2 years outdated. He told us that didn't matter... which may or may not be true.... but the overall feeling we both got was that he wanted to be somewhere else and was having a difficult time feigning interest. It has been over a year... the spot is still there and I came on here to find another dermatologist to try... and noticed that the reviews of this doctor's office were quite different than what our experiences say is warranted. Two stars because his office is easy to schedule with. Outside of that.... I can not, in good faith, give them a good recommendation. read more

TERRIBLE STAFF AND SERVICE!!! I can hardly believe the previous reviews were written by people who visited this office! If I could give 0 stars I would! I went into the office for a followup after bloodwork for a 3:45 appt. When I arrived at 3:50(yes 5 minutes late, with 1:10 min left in work day) to a EMPTY WAITING ROOM, I was told that the doctor could not see me because I was late and he was "triple booked", and that I would have to reschedule. I said that didn't make any sense, as the waiting room was void of any life besides me. ERICA was especially condescending and rude to me. I left my old dermatologist because I wanted to find one closer to where I live. BIG MISTAKE. If you want a great dermatologist with a caring staff, THIS IS NOT THE DOCTOR FOR YOU!!! I can't find enough superlatives to describe my experience with Dr. Gottesfeld and his staff! I will start by saying I happened upon them by accident. I called months ago looking for a new primary care physician. I was so impressed with the woman I spoke to on the phone. Her name was Laura. She was so friendly and helpful. I jotted down the doctor's name, office number and her name in a notepad. This week, I found myself (3-4 months later) in need of a dermatologist. My husband reminded me of my phone experience with Laura and remembered that Dr. Gottesfeld was a dermatologist. I called and was greeted once again by Laura! I told her of my problem and was given an appt. less than 48 hours later. This morning, I met Laura and the rest of the wonderful staff who took care of me when I arrived. I have to say, in all honesty, it was the single best experience I have ever had in a doctor's office. Then, I met Dr. Gottesfeld! He was excellent in every way. He was attentive, patient, friendly and thorough. He took care of my problem quickly and painlessly and managed to ease my anxiety. This doctor was horrible came in with as an emergency something that looked specious and he said without even examining it closely to put Vaseline on it Never said anything more .End result that it was cancer ! And it needed MOHs surgery .Please stay clear from this doctor if you read this review ! Only gave it a 1 bc I had to to continue to post but it's below a zero. If you read vitals .com on this dr you will see I am not alone many many more negative reviews on this Dr ! read more
