Walter and Judy are amazing instructors, and incredibly talented dancers. They explained every step and made even the most daunting dance steps attainable. Our private lessons were filled with information, and at the same time were fun and very laid back. We took a number of group classes and attended social dances as well. Walter and Judy also taught us a dance routine for our wedding, which we proudly showed off with ease, along with all the other dance styles we had learned from them. If we hadn't moved away we would still take lessons today! I can't say enough good things about Two Step Tidewater. We not only learned dance steps and styles, but learned how to have fun while dancing with each other and in a social setting.

Highly recommended!!!!

My daughter, son and I love to dance at Allonge! It's one of our favorite places to be. The people…read moreare so kind and the environment is one of encouragement instead of intimidation. I would highly recommend the adult dance classes even if you've never danced before. Many of those in the adult class have never been on a stage. We just have lots of fun together. We get together outside of the studio and I've made some really wonderful friendships there. I think as an adult we don't allow ourselves to just have fun trying something new. You are NEVER too old to dance!!!

Great studio, great location, great instructor!…read more How did I find this place? Funnily enough... Yelp. I don't live locally but visit family frequently enough to want a go-to studio in Virginia Beach. I found 3 on yelp - none of which had any reviews. Chose Pilates Fitness Club solely based on the website: it was really easy to find the schedule and the class options are super convenient. Plus a prominently featured intro deal for new clients: 5 classes for $25. Worth it? Yes. I haven't tried the other studio to compare, but I'm fairly positive I made the right choice. Not intimidating at all (the other studio pretty much required you to call in advance if you were a brand new student) and awesome instructor (Chris) - whether there are 2 students or 12, he really focuses on making sure you're doing the movements correctly and makes the 50 minutes of class fly by. Proximity to the oceanfront is an added bonus.

The instructors were very good and took you through the movements and made the appropriate adjustments. They made the class fun and approachable even for beginners like me. They had a $25 for 5 classes for first time customers deal so you really don't have an excuse not to give them a try. Be warn though because you'll likely come back often. The classes are generally scheduled every hour and can be easily booked through the website. On the last day, I brought my 60 year old mother to class and Christopher took his time to work with her on the various Pilates positions. She has not even heard of Pilates and she had a great workout. This is on my to go list when I am in the area.

The classes I attended were small and all women, we were made to feel very comfortable and told that this was a safe place for us to express ourselves. The dance fitness classes are fun and energetic. The pace is moderate and the teaching style is repetitive. You learn the routine in sections and repeat each section before adding on. By the end of the class you will likely be doing the routine four times in a row to music. I'm thrilled to have found Marquita and her studio, offering classes that make you feel sexy and sensual while becoming fit, toned, and fully comfortable with your wonderful body.

I don't know if it's the way the room is structured in an L and not a square/rectangle or the windows being covered by curtains and I could see outside some... When Coach Ted opened his new gym we wanted to check it out and see the good work him and his wife were putting into their new venture. This Jiu Jitsu gym is unlike the others locally, it is not all about revenue, profits or competition. They are very family oriented and the most affordable around town. Not only is it affordable but they offering great quality training. They offer kids classes, adult classes, women defense classes, open mat training and private lessons. They accept all levels of Jiu Jitsu. Also first week is free. They don't do contracts, it is month to month so you are not stuck with a membership if you decide Jiu Jitsu is not for you. Coach Ted's daughter, Christina is very famous in the Jiu Jitsu community. She competed for years and won gold in many world wide competitions. You will also get to see Christina on the mat training as well. The gym is very clean, and a pretty good size for training. They offer free open mat time for kids and adults on Wednesdays which is where you will get to see people from all gyms come and hang out and roll. Another thing I love is coach Ted is all about the love of the sport and not pushing people to compete or to pay more for every little thing the gym offers.
