This does not meet the manufactures instructions or the Asphalt Roofing Manufactures Association guidelines witch state shingles should extend 1/4" to 3/4" past drip edge. Most roofers seems to go 1/2" to 1". The result of Jayson's method is the rain runs down the facia board instead of dripping as intended. I should also add that a year after the storm, my parents house still had items to repair. My parents had to hire other contractors to finish. Absolute services was supposed to be a one stop general contractor to repair all the storm damage. They did the roof and subbed out the rest.
