I asked the reason my hot water tank went bad and the plumber advised me it was a failed Dip Tube. When I asked the technician to please add that to my invoice he gave me push back. This is something that should have been disclosed at the time the appointment was made, not after the service had been completed. I could have made other arrangements by going to the bank and getting a check. I felt like I was taken advantage due to my age.

Water was entering my basement walls..it was a mess. He came as soon as he could. Cut into the wall and fixed the pipe. Explained that there was a pipe behind the wall for a washer/dryer--the previous owner never documented this or explained it to me (it's a very strange, rear-of-the-house mudroom that was an add-on.) For the second visit, I had a sewage back up. He came and diagnosed it, and fixed it by cleaning up the sewer line under the street. Apparently, my home piping is pretty sturdy and modern, but the pipes under the street are old and thin. So I have to be careful what gets flushed down my toilet.
