They sell small animals such as hamsters, gold fish and rabbits etc as well as pet food, cages, dog leads, treats, toys etc. - All very competatively priced. They sell almost everything you would ever need for your pet so i hardly ever need to go to the larger stores such as Pets at home or Tesco. They also deliver to your home which is good if you need to pick up a large item or a lot of pet food.

I love Haswell Pets - a small independent pet shop at the beginning of King Street. I have been…read morestopping in there for years as they had the most adorable resident cat (who sadly passed away just recently). I have very fond memories of him from being a child! We used to shop there for fish food and other related items, which I remember were very reasonably priced. They also have some live animals in the shop such as rabbits and guinea pigs, and they are kept in clean conditions unlike some other petshops I have seen! All in all this is a nice friendly little shop, worth a look in if you are a pet owner as there are goodies available for all your different pets.

They can be quite pricey at times though and when we went in there the last few times there was A) One member of staff on the till and no one to be found elsewhere when we wanted to buy fish B) a lack of variety of fish and out of two loads of fish we have got from there, one fish died out of each one. They do know their stuff when you actually manage to get to speak to a member of staff.

My only one complaint is that they close one day per week (Wednesday, I think), so if I want to collect my dog this particular day, I have to wait 24 hours (a shame when returning from a trip and eager to see your pet).

Unfortunatley we have had to say goodnight to our beautiful pet but glad that when we were away we knew she was happy and well cared for when we were gone.
