I really wanted to go with a mom-and-pop service. But when I tried to contact Gord's service after submitting the service request and got a message from a guy saying they'd call me back, something felt off. So I did some sleuthing and confirmed my suspicions. Gord is spread a little thin and is too busy to properly answer calls, respond to online service requests or emails. Terrible Service, Do NOT Hire This Guy! If I could give zero stars, I would. We've been dealing with this guy, Gord, for three days now trying to get our heating fixed, and it's been nothing but a nightmare. He keeps saying he's coming but never shows up. Promises to call back? Forget it--he doesn't follow through. Not only is Gord completely unprofessional, but he's also incredibly rude. He thinks he's some kind of comedian, but let me tell you, Gord--you're not funny, and you're definitely not special. You're just an old guy who loves wasting people's time and stealing their money. He charged us $400 for absolutely NOTHING. If he had fixed the issue on the first day, I'd have no problem paying, but no, he dragged it out for days, and then overcharged us for a job he should've done right away. Disgusting behavior from someone who clearly has no respect for his customers. Avoid Gord at all costs unless you want to waste your time, money, and patience on a man who thinks ripping people off is a joke. Shameful. read more

Well it's hard to rate their service when you get a message they will call you in the morning to tell you what time they will come to your house and then you don't get a call. Wasted day and and booked another repair company who confirmed a time. read more

There are companies who you trust. This company has proved otherwise. When they overcharge you by $50 (they charged me for 2 appliances to get inspected, I only had the technician inspect one) and go silent when you try to get the money back. It Speaks VOLUMES! Too bad for him, bad business , bad karma. Hopefully someone reads this and chooses someone else. There were other little things like the technician was only focused on time spent. So he was rushing. He maybe spent 15-17 minutes in my home ... rushing!!! Never have I experienced that! I'd recommend finding someone else. It's all in the small details and ignoring a customer for $50 back is lame. We have called Gord's Appliance to help us with our dryer two times now in the past 6 years. Each time, their service was prompt, professional, and they fixed our ancient dryer to keep it chugging along. We really appreciate their expertise and efficiency! As another note, in terms of COVID measures, they arrive fully equipped in PPE when they arrive. We will continue using Gord's Appliance as our go to and we recommend you do as well. read more

Arnold from Gord's was very prompt and easy to communicate with in setting up the appointment. He was polite, quickly found and fixed our dishwasher, and gave us good advise in how to look after our Bosch dishwasher to prolong its longevity. Unfortunately my experience with Gord's Appliances wasn't good. They are one of the few shops in Calgary that service Miele appliances. I tried called about 5 times and left two voice mail messages. No one ever got back to me. I was able to get someone to respond to me via the Yelp chat but they couldn't help and essentially told me to call the phone number. I will be trying another repair shop. read more

I was very disappointed when I finally got a call back a day later than they indicated, and he said they would show up the next day between 8-8:30am. He did not show, and didn't bother to call. The top sprayers in our dishwasher wasn't spraying and all the dishes on the top rack were dirtier than before putting them in the dishwasher. Ben dropped by and cleaned the filter and replaced a part. Now the dishwasher actually washes. Ben was excellent. Note to self: Apparently dishwashers don't make very good garburators. read more

What a terrible experience, called Gord to ask about a part for my Miele dishwashers, he rudely replied and said it had to come from Miele, asked him another question, he blew up at me telling me I was going to blow the house and myself up and then hung up on me, no chance at even scheduling an appointment. Complete asshole, will never recommend him to anyone. read more

Our experience with Gord's Appliance was both positive and negative... Arnold the repair man was polite and friendly. He gave us a rough estimate of cost and dates (2 weeks for parts to come in). He then called the next day and said he had all the parts... he came and installed and supplied us with totals of bills (no details), explaining details would be provided on emailed invoices... but when the e-mailed invoices arrived there was only totals... I contacted Gord for the invoice details, and he said his rates are standard... I explained I was not disputing the bills, but rather wanted to know the prices associated with each part. Gord refused to supply this information... even after I informed him that industry standards for invoicing require this detail be provided. Seems Gord is hiding something... my bill was much higher than estimate. read more

Called for a repair on a Viking gas stove that was refusing to light, but only occasionally - very frustrating and a real problem when we were cooking for company. We had another repair service come in twice - they replaced the ignition and warned us if that didn't fix the problem, the next bill would be in the thousands of dollars. We called Gord's Appliances, the tech called two days earlier than expected (the sooner the better), checked out the stove and realized that the ignition wasn't adjusted properly so that, depending on the barometric pressure (a potential issue at higher elevations), it wasn't always able to sense that the burner was lit, even when it was. The ignition would then keep trying to light the burner, and then would the burner down after three tries. Once the ignition and burner was adjusted, it lit perfectly and consistently. Great job. Will use these folks again anytime. read more

GA did a repair on my Samsung washer a few years back. Now the drier is not doing it's job. Sent a request for serve via contact form on a Wednesday morning. No response. Had to leave town. Called again on Friday morning = voicemail. Finally got a call back, while I was still out of town (and coincidentally dealing with another mini crisis), on Monday morning. I ignored it. read more

I have scheduled service with Gord's Appliance for my stove repair. One heating element was not working, on the second heating element the infinite switch was malfunctioning. Also the gasket/sealer around the front glass was broken. Technician arrived as scheduled, look at it and told me the repair will $430/ I requested specific break down for cost of each part and labour. Technician informed me that I need to pay diagnostic fee of $99.70( incl. GST) and the estimate will be e-mailed to me the same day. I paid the diagnostic fee. Two days later I called and ask for the estimate. I received the estimate for $557.42 plus GST.I called back and questioned the estimate. I was told the technician will call - never happened!!. I didn't get the breakdown for parts & labor. I was told it is what it is and they don't do specific breakdown for parts & labor on estimate (basically take it or leave it) in service business this is not acceptable. Do not use Gord's Appliance service. If he is not willing to tell you what he is charging for, his practices are at least shadow, what he is trying to hide?!?! read more

When I called for a repair I was given a date that was a week away and told that I would receive a call the day of between 9 & 10 AM and given a 2 hr window that the repair man would show up. This was reasonable (even tho I though 9/10AM was a little late in the day as most ppl have been at it for at least 2 hrs but....) on the day of I received a call right at 10AM and asked if we could reschedule for the weekend. This didn't work for us. I had to ask as to why we were being rescheduled when we booked a week in advance and was told the repair man was ill, this is very possible, ppl get sick, but it would have been good customer service to provide me that info as early in the day so I could rearrange my schedule which had been put on hold. Won't be rescheduling. read more

I'm sure they provide a great service...But I will never know since the technician couldn't be bothered to show up! I left a voicemail, AFTER my service appt. window was missed, then awhile later I coincidentally received a call from the technician who conveniently happened to be "around the corner" ....too bad no one could have been courteous enough to let me know beforehand they are running late/not showing up. Not paying $100 + for a service call that couldn't be bothered to show up within a three hour window, or even have the courtesy to call and let me know what was going on. Thanks Gord! read more

Don't usually submit reviews but service was so poor I felt maybe I could save some future headaches... Booked Gord's service online to come and check out my dryer as it was no longer heating up. My fiancé took off the Wednesday that the service was booked, and we were told that the technician would show between 230-430. At 500PM my fiancé texted me to say they hadn't showed. I called the service number to which they told me the technician was out of town and had no service, so he couldn't update us that he would be late. They asked if 530-600 would work and I obliged, but had to leave work early to make it home in time. At 745 I was called by the technician saying he was in the area wondering if it was okay to stop bye. I was no longer at home as I expected he wasn't showing. After some back in forth I was told (by the tech) he would call me the next day between 9-10 to book a suitable time. Never heard back until Friday (full day later)...I decided to allow them one last chance Friday evening to stop bye at 530, but not surprisingly the tech called me at 545 saying he had one last call in the SW, but could make it to my house after (in NW). After some choice words I decided they had wasted enough of my time, and I booked another repair service Zero accountability to their customers, contrary to all their positive "testimonials" on the website. Left a message with the service line and never received a call back. Save your time, don't let these guys waste it. Wouldn't recommend Gord's at all based on my experience. read more

Wasted my time by booking an appointment for my washer when they can't get parts for it because they aren't authorized to do so. The staff booking the appointments should be fully away of this issue and check it out immediately instead of waiting until the morning you are supposed to come and then advise they can't do it. If the booking staff isn't able to look the information up then why waste the time asking for Model, Make and Serial Number. Now I am waiting another 3 days after already waiting since last week. Very disappointed in the managing of the service appointment. Will not recommend to anyone read more
