Poor service from this Vet. Called at the Stockbridge location to have a kennel cough nasal puffer…read moreadministered. The individual could only give the dog the medication in one nostril, struggled to control the dog. Another appointment made for 29 May 21' to finish the job. Again, unable to complete the treatment. Suggested taking the dog to their Portobello location on the same evening. They also struggled with the dog and ended up giving the dog a sedative. This is a Labrador. The problem was the dog was so stressed after the performance at Stocksbridge, by the time he arrived at Portobello he was in no state to be given treatment. At Portobello saw Mr Victor Bates who was non too pleased at having to stay beyond their normal closing time of 6 PM. Would never ever consider this Vet again. Staff problem, attitude problem at the top.

My last Vet (Bless him) had an awful time with her, particularly during her one successful escape attempt. Imagine my relief when I found a Vets that catered specifically to cats! My Spoiled Brat has been here three times for check-ups and every time, despite her insane protests, the vets have handled her wonderfully. I'm always happy with the service I receive, the vets listen to any concerns I might have and even though there are vets far closer to where I live now I'm sticking with these! Though, having to deal with my cats moods, I'm not sure they're happy I keep coming back!

Vets in General are big into getting the most money they can out of their clients with markups on generic tablets as much as 1000% the price of over the counter meds that are exactly the same. Always do your research. Many Meds are prescription that you need to get of a vet but some can be bought at your local pet store for a fraction of the price. I have also added their latest price list as they are very secretive about it on their website. I never understand why companies hide their price lists and require you to phone in.

I love the VN who is in on the weekends, and I take Jo and they love her like I love her. Ok, a little less crazy, freaky over-protective mama bear love... but they take good care of her.

There are a few different sites under the same company and the one in Stockbridge is decently one of the smaller clinics, but I had no issue booking an appointment. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but looks were certainly deceiving in this case. Upon arrival, the lovely receptionist came to help with the door whilst I struggled with the huge carrier. There is only the one vet on site and I get the sense is is not one of the busiest of clinics. Well worth checking in advance because I'm pretty sure they're not a 9-5pm clinic so your options for time might be limited. So we were seen promptly by Charlie's new vet, Victor. He was great! A lovely manner about him really gentle with Charlie. He asked appropriate questions about his health, which led to Charlie getting a flu shot since he has a regular cat sitter who spends time with other cats. I was so impressed by their professionalism and manner towards Charlie. Victor was so patient and nice despite Charlie's complete freak out and even provided me a lint roller at the end since Charlie had shed fur everywhere in the room. The cost of the checkup was £35 to which I nearly keeled over at (if we were in Australia it would NEVER be that cheap!) Overall a great experience, highly reccomended for all fur babies!

Wish I had known about them sooner! Our little pet rat is now munching down on a juicy slice of watermelon (none the wiser that it's been sneakily dosed in his antibiotics)!

Vets4Pets is really, Pets At Home branching out, but as it is a veterinarians (and owned by one…read morerather than the store) versus a retail store, I feel it's worth an honourable mention. We have a hamster, who is starting to approach her later years. Her eyes are a little smaller, she can't climb stairs like the ninja of last year. Over December of last year she inadvertently set of a burglar alarm and had the police scaling my brother's house thinking there was an intruder when really, there was just lil old Pelton, rather terrified by it all. She started to lose her fur not long after that and it became time to visit the vets, to have her checked out. Luckily, Vets4Pets has a vet familiar with small rodents (didn't even think I would have had to ask that but happy days that there was one there) who, apart from calling our beloved P. cute but fat, gave us a no nonsense diagnosis and a reminder that hamsters are not long for this world. Happily, some of the more worrying possibilities do not appear to have borne out, and we still have Pelton, a little more doddery. At £25 a visit, I am not sure whether that is a competitive price or not compared to other vets, but we felt absolutely comfortable with the vet we see there.

Dr. Lindsey and her wonderful staff at Happy Pets give us that same level of personalized care that I worried I might miss. If I pop in for food for our kitty with a sensitive tum, they ask how all three (my husband brought 1 cat to the party!) are getting along, they always ask after our kitty with IBS - the one that gives them the most trouble, and genuinely care for all our little wards. They are always looking for solutions and open to trying new products and approaches. The entire staff is clearly passionate about their work, the vet techs are very knowledgeable and keep up with latest information in fields like veterinary nutrition - which can be pretty rare to find. One of the best things is knowing that I can call them and get measured advice, instead of a quick 'bring her in' - more often then not, the reply is 'keep an eye on her, and call back in a day or two'. Headed here for our annual 'torture of my cat' that is, vaccination time!…read more The staff were lovely and let me open the carrier in the waiting room as it was evening and they weren't expecting anyone soon. My baby had a little roam around while we waited, which was fantastic as she gets stressed in her carrier. The actual checkup/vaccinations were painless and Dr. Lindsey was very patient with my typical over-protective, super paranoid fur-mama demeanour (yes I said fur-mama, I have come to terms with what I am). Unfortunately the checkup revealed that a tooth extraction was required so a few weeks later we returned. Everything went off without a hitch and I now have a happy cat with one less tooth. The surgery is clean and comfortable. There's plenty of bits and bobs on sale in the reception area for your fun needs (a post vet treat perhaps?) and the receptionists are efficient and lovely. They also have some reasonable opening hours that suited me as I work out of the city and am carless. Would definitely head here again!
