Instead of cremains at their Kent location where we started, I was told to go get them myself in Green, an hour and a half trip, or pay $100 to pick them up in Kent, and they had no intention of helping with any of that. Getting them in Green is a big problem because you have to make an appointment for only when it suits them, just between 9 and 3 which is bad enough for people who have a job but their availability to meet you is so limited it makes date and time choices way too restrictive.

He was a dark complected caucasian from working outside most of his life. Also, he always wore a pencil mustache his entire life. Schermesser was given a recent photograph and father's favorite suite. Private family viewing for a few hours one day and general viewing for a longer time the next were the arrangements. We were shocked to find father with a bright pink complexion(picture a lady's powder blush compact) of a new born babe and clean shaven for the 1st time in his adult life. As shocking as that was, on the day of general viewing, before transportation to the cemetery we had to pick several beetles off dad's body and were plagued with flies swarming around the casket for the entire viewing. When we complained we were told insects come in with the flowers and there is nothing that can be done about them. I'm getting old, but I have never seen Pepto Bismo Pink used for make-up, and bugs never joined in the ceremonies.

Less than 24 hours after my father passed, my family and I met with him at the funeral home to discuss my father's arrangements. I asked Mr. Auble a very simple question regarding the embalming. A question that He should have easily been able to answer. Instead he looked at me, and in front of all of the family present, he said in a very loud voice and in an extremely nasty tone that he could not answer that question. In fact he said it twice! I could not believe that someone in his position would talk to me like that right after losing my father! I was completely caught off guard by this man's rude and completely disrespectful outburst!! It was so humiliating and completely unnecessary! I regret that I stayed for the rest of the meeting! I should have gotten up and left. I would never recommend this funeral home to anyone!

We dealt with Ron Maxwell and I think he could not have done anything any better than he did during such a difficult time for all of us. I think some people have a gift for the career they are in, just a natural ability to do that job. I felt for him when I saw my siblings and I making decisions on what we all wanted. I thought about how hard that might be to navigate with family members who might not agree on things. Ron just handled everything like the professional he is. I would recommend them and especially Ron to anyone that needs them. I can't thank him enough for being exactly what we needed at that time.

When we ask about which location the service would be, we were told it was a private service and he couldn't divulge that information. What a moron- I knew it was a private service and I wasn't going to crash it as I live 18 hours away. However, the florists need to know where the flowers are to go and without him telling me which, it has turned into a debacle. The flowers did NOT arrive at the funeral. The 1-800 flower agency said the funeral home wouldn't receive the flowers. The funeral home said the florist didn't have the flowers we'd ordered. And after all the bologna, no one (not e 1-800 service, not the funeral jome, not the local florist) has called to let us know that the ball has been dropped. Why in the world the fella at the funeral home wouldn't even let us know what location the funeral would take place is beyond me.
