My husband passed away in May and i knew exactly how to follow his last wishes. Adams Mason made that task so much easier. Writing the obit was so hard for me because my husband was such a great man and lived a wonderful life. How would i put it in words. Well, the obit was perfect. They took what info i had and worded it with such respect for him. Everyone was so supportive, i may have handled the last wishes for him on my own, but i never felt alone. I would like to start by saying that nothing is as painful as losing someone you love. Adam Mason Funeral Home was the best choice due to our needs (burial out of state, as well 2 day time frame). Not only were they the best but also the best priced. Funeral homes can be so different I've learned, some charging for EVERY little thing, pay for having chairs at the viewing, or severely overcharging for the flowers on top of the casket. Adam Mason Funeral home did not do that. Scott Mason is the person that took care of the whole funeral was wonderful. I was able to text him at nearly midnight when I thought of a question. He answered immediately with a response. The correct response. The preparation of my loved one was also outstanding. He looked like he was sleeping, cleaned up perfectly and so at peace. A memory that will stay with me forever, not the one at the hospital. They also worked with us wanting to bring my loved ones pet. No problem. We were also allowed to leave some notes in the casket with him, an issue that other funeral homes had. I have to say there is nothing negative at all about this funeral home, it's staff, or location. Go with a funeral home that is local, doesn't have corporate offices, those are the ones where you become a number. Again, I will highly recommend this funeral home to anyone who is in need because you're treated like family. read more

Lifecare Hospice recommended Adams Mason cremation services as a lower cost alternative to a regular burial. The whole process was handled with dignity and professionally by the Adams Mason staff. I would not hesitate to call on them again for future needs. read more

My mother passed away in November 2018 she had pre-arranged services with Adam Mason they were very helpful at that time. I needed a copy of the payment I made to them of the obituary for Medicaid and has called them multiple times left my messages with staff also left my email and phone number no response this has been over 3 months. Our first meeting took place over the telephone; with me explaining my situation as my husband had not yet passed. She calmly guided me through the planning process and advised me as to what paperwork needed to be completed to start the process. My paperwork was provided to me via e-mail. I didn't even need to stop in which was a huge relief as my presence was needed at the hospital. All that was left to be done was for the hospital to place a phone call to the funeral home when my husband expired. I knew what to expect every step of the way because Irena was very thorough with her guidance and explanation on every detail. When the day came when I picked up my husband's cremains, everything was in place. There were no surprises. I felt very comfortable through the whole process. During a time of mourning DO NOT trust Adams Mason to handle your loved one. My mother passed away on April 18, 2019. I went to them on a recommendation of the someone who experienced service they used to give. Trust me they do not provide any type of competent or compassionate service. I live in NC so after a trip to Akron, OH to take care of my mother's affairs, I spent time on the phone with her life insurance company and the funeral home, at one point I had a phone on each ear trying to make sure everyone had all the information they needed. The lady i spoke with from Adams Mason told me she received the paperwork from the life insurance company through email. I then gave her all the information I could for them to start the process of the death certificate. I was told we would get a call back with an appointment to meet with the director. A call never came. In the meantime the hospital is calling to ask where I was having arrangements made. i told them Adams Mason. I called them and got an appointment for 11a Wednesday 4/24/19. We arrived on time and ended up waiting 30 minutes for the director to see me and my family. After about 5 minutes it was clear he hadn't had any communication with the woman i talked to 2 days prior. We spent another 45 minutes going through paperwork, all the while him tell us that EVERYTHING that happens there much come across his desk. I told him repeatedly that one of his employees already had the paperwork from my mother's life insurance, they would absolutely be paid if they filed it. (She was a government retiree) We left feeling okay about the situation. 30 minutes later, i get a phone call from the director who tells me that the paperwork and dealing with it was just going to be too complicated and I needed to come back in and pay cash or put down a credit card. i was horrified. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. i said again to him that I didn't have the money for that and that's what the life insurance was for. He again with attitude told me that I needed to bring full payment in, asked if the lady that was with me, my mother in law, could pay. We could use several credit cards if necessary. I was angry and in tears. NO ONE should be treated this way. I thankfully got a recommendation from the social worker at the hospital that had my mother's body. We went back to Adams Mason to get the paperwork they refused to file and moved one. I felt no compassion and got no apology from the director when we went back. i would absolutely NEVER refer anyone there. As a matter of fact the funeral home we finally went with said that she had other families who came to her after terrible treatment from Adams Mason, one was the appointment before us. Please DO NOT give these people your business. They will not respect you or help you. They are clearly all about cash money on the table immediately. Take your business elsewhere. read more

When my father was ill, both of my parents pre-paid with Adams Mason. As far as I remember, my father's services were fine in 2001. Unfortunately, my mother recently passed away and our experience was not great. Both my brother and I had moved out of the area, as had my mother. Adams Mason honored the pre-paid agreement, but unfortunately the service wasn't very good. Rather than comfort and assurance, we were told repeatedly about the difficulties with getting her body to Akron, scheduling the burial, and other changes from the original plan. Communications in general were lacking, including not notifying us of the necessary papers for her burial in a timely manner. read more

I never post reviews. However, if I can prevent another family from enduring the tragic handling of my sister's passing, I will. My sister passed away almost 4 weeks ago. We have called, emailed, called, emailed again and again. They have an answering service. There is no opportunity to speak with one of the employees of the funeral home. The answering service passes on the information to Adams Mason and then we waited...and waited for a return call. After almost 4 weeks, with only one response, they finally contacted us to say they were trying to work it out with the cemetery. However, we had been in contact with the cemetery who said they hadn't heard from them. They are now saying they should be able to bury my sister next week, as they have "nothing going right now". It is so disrespectful to my deceased sister, not to mention the stress is has caused our family. Losing a loved one during a pandemic is bad enough. This funeral home made a very difficult situation even worse. If I could give them no stars or negative stars, I would. Do not use them. read more
