I know my way around many ALDI stores and that you can find baked goods close to the entry/1st Aisle. Plus, there are many other baked delights to catch your attention! You do need a quarter to access a grocery cart... unless you're lucky enough to be the beneficiary of someone handing off a discarded cart. It's just a quarter but builds so much good will in paying it forward... Definitely a thing that is growing and I love being part of it!

They really have it in the bag. There are plenty of fresh options with good brands without being overwhelming. I have kept up the tradition of stopping in occasionally and always buying any meat I wanted. My family is a big fan of Steve's homemade pastrami. It's the end of an era that has spanned four generations of my family. Paul and Steve always went the extra mile. Several times they drove my mother and her groceries home, even though it meant getting a milk crate so she could safely get into and out of the truck. On one occasion he lifted her out of the truck. I'm sure it was no problem because she was small and weighed less than a side of beef. That was a favorite story that she would tell and retell to anyone who would listen. I wish you and your loving families well.

This is one of the small, terrible cruelties of modern life. Inside this easily overlooked structure lives the Phoenix Earth Food Co-Op, where a small and lovely group of people attempt the nearly impossible task of living carefully in a world that punishes care. The shelves are clean. The lights are honest. The vegetables have come from soil that someone, somewhere, still loves. Here, briefly, the indifferent machinery of industrial food is held at bay by the careful arrangement of dried lentils. I urge you to find it. The difficulty of finding it is part of its meaning. What is worth knowing in this life is almost always hidden in plain sight -- and we walk past, and we do not see.

We tried the butter chicken, lamb curry and chicken chili tonight and it was all incredible! We've tried most of the Indian restaurants in the Toledo area and True Spice is up there with the best of them. The butter chicken was savory and addictive, the lamb curry was out daughter's fave, and this was my first time trying chili chicken, which was my personal favorite of all three. We also got samosas and garlic naan - both were good, but not amazing. I wish the naan had been a little more crispy. The real highlights were the main dishes. Only thing to know about the mains is that they weren't heavy on the meat, so while we normally would be able to share a dish I'd recommend one dish per person here. How to order: When you walk into the store you'll pass the checkout counter and head straight to the back to check out the menu. At this time they hadn't printed extra menus, so we took a picture of it. Then head back to place your order and pay at the counter. The folks there are very nice and they also have free masala chai tea, which was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended, give True Spice a try!

While I don't want to break the bank at uber expensive grocery stores, I turn my nose a bit at the everyday grocery stores in my area. I never know if the produce is fresh, old, or tainted (sprayed chemicals). Fresh Thyme, though 15 minutes from my home, seems to have a decently stocked produce section and a variety of organic produce as well. I find the pricing to be hit or miss, but I can pretty much get all of what I need for a weeks worth of cooking here without having to go anywhere else. I wouldn't come here for everyday things such as TP or dish detergent, but for veggies and organic goods this is it.
