Before proceeding to the main course, we encountered some difficulties in communicating with the staff due to the loud music and chatter, which made it challenging for them to hear our requests for descriptions and suggestions. Upon further observation, we noticed that the music selection featured depressing lyrics, which seemed inappropriate for a family-friendly establishment. Ideally, the music should strike a balance between traditional genres and uplifting vibes, maintaining a respectful volume that provides a pleasant background for conversation while patrons await their meals. I took the opportunity to share my concerns with a female staff member at the bar, mentioning that the music was excessively loud and hindered our ability to converse. Although she smiled, she chose to disregard my feedback and continued to sing along to the loud music. It would be beneficial for the management to prioritize the ambiance and atmosphere provided to paying customers, ensuring that the music selection caters to their preferences rather than those of the staff, thereby creating a welcoming environment that facilitates enjoyable meals, conversation, and overall experience. * With all that being said, we decided not to order the main meal and left after finishing the appetizer.

Family owned and operated, everything is made from scratch!…read more This is one of those little success stories we all hope for in this world of chains and fast food giants. Greg Mata worked a regular job for 22 years but cast it all to the wind and opened a taco shop selling homemade tacos. What a success this is. The tacos are great and they serve up good sized portions. I recently went and had only 2 tacos and I was satisfied for lunch. The grilled chicken was moist and meaty and had great flavor. Also had the grilled steak, both had beans and rice on them and I added some cheese. Ice tea was brewed just right. Tacos are $3.99 each which is really good for the amount you get. The interior is clean and bright in a TexMex kind of way with lots of wall decor. I've heard the breakfast tacos are also very good, they sell their homemade tortillas.

They were out of raw onions because cleanup had already started and only offered grilled onions, which I didn't want. The al pastor also had no flavor and was sitting in grease. I understand places prep for closing, but customers should still be able to get fresh food and normal toppings during posted business hours. Disappointing experience overall.

Advertencia: no recomiendo Tortillería Mañá. ENGLISH I found Tortillería Mañá because a paid influencer (Patty Santiago) recommended it. Huge mistake. I've been several times and every visit has the same ugly vibe: rude behavior, cold attitude, and a level of hostility that makes you question why they even open their doors. This morning was the last straw. I waited in my car, watched a man turn the OPEN sign on and flip the door sign from closed to open, so I walked in, assuming they were actually ready for customers. I politely asked for a small sample of chicharrón, and the woman came at me with attitude like I didn't belong there. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. Also, on a previous visit, two friends got sick after eating their chicharrón. I only ate a little, so I was fine -- but looking back, that was the first warning sign. Terrible service, negative energy, and staff who clearly don't want customers around. There are plenty of places in Houston that treat people with basic respect -- this is not one of them. Buyer beware: I do NOT recommend Tortillería Mañá.

After being seated, it seemed the waitstaff forgot about us. We went to the bar and politely brought it to their attention. What impressed me most was how the situation was handled. The staff took full accountability, apologized, and even brought us complimentary garlic knots. That's how you run a business. Since it was our first visit, our waiter took the time to recommend some of the restaurant's favorites. The manager also stopped by our table to check on our experience. When we told her how kind and attentive our waiter had been, she surprised us with a complimentary Parry's beer cup and bottle opener. The food was fresh, delicious, and exceeded our expectations. The garlic knots were incredibly soft, buttery, and packed with garlic flavor. The atmosphere was perfect for watching the game, and the customer service turned what could have been a negative first impression into a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back!
